We've been wanting to visit this place for several weeks now, but always ended up forgetting that they're not open on Sundays lol. We finally made it in on a Saturday for lunch this past weekend and I can honestly say I'm glad we did! A cup of peace is marketed as a Korean place; I'm not overly familiar with Korean food, but their menu seemed to have a fairly diverse selection of items that aren't necessarily specific to Korea - like the curry, burrito, and other items. It seems they all have some type of Korean flair or flavor profile, though. Totally not discounting that. I may be overthinking things lol. Anyway, there was only one other table occupied in the small dining area, but we did see a couple people stop in to pick up to-go orders. The decor is simple, but cute and the ambiance of the place is laid back. It's a perfect spot to grab a quick lunch, and is very easily accessible off of Arapahoe. There's a decent amount of parking out front, but it may get a little crowded if multiple cars are maneuvering to get out of the lot at the same time. I decided on the curry and my friend went with the bulgogi, which seemed like two solid choices for a cool afternoon. It didn't take much time at all for our meals to get to the counter, and the presentation was so nice! There was steam coming from both dishes, and they both looked super tasty. We sat at a table by the window and dug in immediately. The flavors were excellent, and the spice level was perfect; my friend ended up getting his on the spicier side too, and he said it tasted great; not too spicy and all the flavors of the meal came through. For the two of us, lunch was about $35 (with no drinks), which wasn't too bad considering portion sizes. The quality of the food is very good, and the ingredients all looked and tasted very fresh. I'd definitely stop in again sometime soon to check out the other dishes they have available! There is also a list of specialty drinks that would be cool to try out. I wouldn't describe this as a Korean restaurant. It's more like slight spinoffs on Korean food. If you don't expect to find Korean food, then you won't be confused/disappointed. In fact, you might call it interesting or inventive. We got the bulgogi and kimchi fried rice (with beef and chicken), as well as ginger and citron honey fruit tea. The bulgogi tasted...different. Even the shape of it was different from what I'm used to. The beef in the kimchi fried rice is ground beef balled up (they did warn us beforehand that it was ground beef). The prices are higher than I would expect given the quantity of food. Service - it's mostly self-service, which is fine and straightforward. They call you up to get your tray, there is a water and to-go box station, and you bus your own trays. So, no need to feel like you have to tip. Ambiance - I would describe the place as fast casual. It was pretty quiet. It's a simple setting. I am ambivalent on going back. read more

Boulder does not have any authentic Asian restaurants and if you understand that and try the food assuming that it is fusion food ... First of all, they misspelled my name. That's an automatic 1 star for me. Aria has made it to the top 20 list. Just because you like game of thrones doesn't give you the right to assume that everyone is going to name their kid after a show that didn't even exist when I was born. The letter Y does not belong in the name. Now onto the real review, the person that took my order did not know anything about the food that was being served. I asked if they had glass noodles and he said yes. They do NOT have glass noodles. He was referring to the rice noodles. I ordered the Bibimbap. The beef came in cubes and has the consistency of dog food. The bulgogi marinade is completely off and it doesn't taste Korean at all. The food was definitely not what I was expecting and it was quite bland. I think the worst part about this whole experience is that the food is pricey, so I came in expecting some good Bibimbap. I found myself in this relatively hole-in-the-wall cafe, on recommendation from my coworker. I never gave it much thought before, but once I stepped inside, I found it charming and incredibly down-to-earth. The humble atmosphere is complete with small occasional wall hangings and a wide mix of wooden furniture, akin to what you might find in a variety of antique stores. I didn't initially realize they served food until it was made into my lunch plan. Once I saw the menu, the burrito with beef was the obvious choice for me. Adding a fried egg was quite the cherry on top, worth the slight up-charge. The burrito was extremely flavorful, juicy, and overflowing. I chose medium, which was nice and slightly spicy, but not over the top. It was served in a pseudo-ramiken, which helped catch said overflow while consuming. All dishes per person were grouped on wooden platters, a nice touch. My coworker went with the bibimbap, which was also a healthy portion and flavored equally well. The staff we ordered from was very nice, patient and attentive. And a decent lunch rush came in right after us, which didn't seem to phase her in the slightest. We have been to A Cup of Peace twice in two weeks and expect to be regular customers. We've been here once for lunch and once for dinner and both times the employees were kind, courteous, and knowledgeable about the food. As vegans, who are also gluten-free, it was very comforting that the staff seemed to know exactly what was in each dish and how to modify it, if necessary. We twice had the burrito with a gluten-free rice paper wrap, and tofu. It was delicious and easily enough to split for two. The miso soup, which can be added to a meal for a small charge, was warm and comforting on a winter day. We also really enjoyed a cup of Jasmine tea, and had the hot water refilled several times to just sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. I will say it did not taste like what I expected, as a Korean person from LA, but it was very enjoyable and a great large portion. I could split the bowl into three whole meals! Constantly craving this place. We originally went here once, a few years ago, but it has quickly become our go-to spot for both takeout or a quick lunch date. Seems almost hole in the wall-esque, but there are always people here.. which makes sense because the food is freakin DELICIOUS. Everything I have gotten here has been incredible. The Korean bbq bowl is probably my favorite thing, with Noodles being a close second. The spice is on point and super cozy in the best possible way. I have always loved this place, its simplicity and yummy healthy food. Today however, when I ordered take out and I got to my destination to eat, the rice was noticeably undercooked, and they forgot to include the sauce - which really ruined the meal. I wish restaurants would pay more attention to their take out orders because once you're gone it's too late to remedy a mistake. I will likely try this place again and will be extra careful to make sure they have done the basics...but it's awkward to open the take out food to make sure it's right. read more

It honestly tasted like what I expect canned dog food to taste like. It was a very gross consistency like chewy but dry and soft at the same time. The taste of the beef was horrid. This place had a really nice selection of vegetables and many types of protein (vegan friendly options too.) Dup Bob​- Korean Barbecue Bowl-- Is what I ordered with chicken and it was very good. I failed to take a photos since I was so hungry. Nice portion size of food with a salad as well that had light dressing but was the perfect amount. All the vegetables were very fresh and delicious. We also ordered the Traditional Korean Table Setting. It cam with lots of side dishes and a very good amount of food! I did get the gluten free chocolate chip cookies and it wasn't tasty. It may have been a day or so old because it was falling apart. Granted they are hard to execute and stay together without gluten. Big-bowl portion, good chicken. I can't eat spicy foods and they were accommodating on the spice level. Some of their drinks looked good too!
