I vowed to try all the kitchens in the off campus food court but some have changed again so I will continue on anyway. Seoul Kitchen serves a variety of Korean foods and since there are many things I cannot order as I have limits for digestion reasons, so no garlic or extreme salt. Hard to do these days but I found a tasty lunch anyway. Staff was friendly and helpful and since wiring alone with so many pots cooking he has a bell on the counter. As I was there today earlier than most students eat lunch, I found a table easily and it was quieter than in the past. An item I could eat easily was the Kimpop ( as they spell it) though the order was larger than I expected it was tasty, full of veggies and a little meat, some egg and many pickled bits. It was a bit on the sweet side as some pickles rely on sugar more than acid . A little more tang would have been nice. The Jasmine tea was also sweet, a poor choice by me though. But overall it was a satisfying lunch at an excellent price and I brought home enough for a snack for my husband when he gets back from Denver. We will try a hit and heartier meal to share next time. I'm not from Colorado first off. So i believe my standards are pretty high for Asian food. I will say I did place an order through DoorDash. So again review is based on food. Bibimbap 6/10. Idk I was expecting more flavor and i also expected to meet to be bulgogi flavored. Wasn't the best but wasn't gen worst. I feel like it needed if everything. More veggies more flavor. One thing i have noticed that I think Boulder county does cater lots to the demographic and don't see much authenticity with Asian food but again I am from an area with genuine authentic Asian food. Really don't know about the service but that will be based in personal experience from people. Can't say much. Seating area and place can't say much since I didn't visit it but I believe there is pics of how the area is :)). A hidden gem for sure. Place is hidden on a college campus food court but MAN is the food surprisingly delicious, AND it's so well priced!! The Kimchi Dumplings were delicious AND they are also hand made! The bibimbap was one of the best I tasted, simple but the seasoning on everything, the meat and the gochujjang sauce are killer! The spicy pork was amazingly cooked, juicy with perfect seasoning. Can't recommend this place enough if you craving Korean food. read more

After touring CU Boulder, we wanted a quick yet satisfying lunch and this fitted the bill. We had a hard time finding it. No idea why the reviews were under Goody Monster. The place was called 'Seoul Kitchen' and was in a food court under the Chase building. The lady was very nice and we ordered Bibimbop, Bulgogi Beef and Udon Curry. They were all tasty and all $12.99. I was a bit skeptical to order Korean food in Boulder since my experience with ethnic food thus far while living here has been unreal (in a bad way), but surprisingly the food at Seoul Kitchen was much better than I expected. The BiBimBop was above average, but excellent according to Boulder ethic food standards. The Kimchi was ok, not great (could be better), and although I didn't realize the KimBop was made with Spam, it's still enjoyable. If I order again, I might get the California roll instead or just say "no spam" in the KimBop. The prices are pretty reasonable too. Decent food (mostly above average) but nothing fancy. I have passed this place hundreds of times, and have always opted to eat Thai Avenue or Gurkhas. After having heard some rave reviews about the place I decided to try it and it was absolutely fantastic. You don't have too many option in Boulder when it comes to Korean food, so this place can help you fill that craving. I've had the Soon Tofu dish twice this week and it is pretty tasty. I've been eating kimchee chigae for almost all my life. This one is the second best I have ever had!! The only thing I would say is that it had a lot of tofu, but that's totally fine. I also got a to go of the japchae which was also good.. just wish she offered this in a side order size :) It's on the hill in the kitchen. Big fan of this place, especially since authentic Korean food is hard to find around these parts. Have been here 3 times, always order the bibimbap and it is consistently delicious, especially if you get a side of kimchi with it. The tiny kitchen is run by an adorable Korean lady who works really hard to make sure you are happy. My friend and I tried the sundubu jiggae (tofu spicy soup), mandus(dumplings), and the beef bulgogi plate. The jiggae was authentic tasting and very similar to the ones I ate in Korea - came with rice (standard) and surprisingly a plate of cucumber kimchee which was really tasty! The broth was great and helped clear up my sinuses. The bulgogi was sweet and thin (but plenty) and it came with a big pile of rice and mixed greens. You are definitely getting your money's worth with that plate. The mandus were average - boiled so they tasted a little watery, but they were standard (a little over-priced though). The kimchee - you get a massive bowl of it and definitely get your money's worth with it! One thing that surprised me, is that this isn't a stand alone restaurant... it is in a small food-court setting on The Hill. There are other types of food (Thai, Indian) that share the same common area and you go up to the counter to order. The people at the Goody Monster counter are very nice and I would recommend it! Goody Monster is inside the Hilltop Food Court. It's in the far back, near the bathrooms. It looks like one woman runs the whole show. It's in a college town with poor college kids inside a food court. So don't go expecting anything fancy-smancy. It's cheap Korean food. it's cheap, simple, and basic. Their menu consisted of typical, cheap, Korean snack-like items like Kimbop and simple stews. I tried their Kimchi Stew, their Ddukbokki, and the sun dae. They don't actually have sun dae in their menu, only a picture. I asked if they have sun dae, and she said yes. Their Kimchi Stew was pretty good. It tasted like something I would make when I want to make a lazy Kimchi stew. The flavors were there and it tasted comforting. Their ddukbokki tasted decent. I wished it was spicier though. It needed a bigger flavor boost. But it will do its job if you are craving ddukbokki. Their Sundae was good too. It tasted like your average, good, snack-like sundae. The lady was super-nice, and I liked the food. It tasted like cheap, Korean, cafeteria food. And that's okay, since it is supposed to be cheap, Korean, cafeteria food. read more

I love Goody Monster so much! My only complaint is that it's never open when I'm in Boulder on the weekends during weird hours. The little lady who runs this shop seriously makes the best kimchi stew that I have ever had in my entire life, and I have eaten a lot of kimchi stew (it's my go to whenever I eat Korean and can get it). So far I've gotten to try a variety of dishes including the spicy pork, Kim Chi soup, curry bowl, bibimbap, gimbap, and udon. Lots of little traditional Korean side dishes like Kim Chi, Kim Chi radish, and kongnamul (bean sprouts) as well. Lots of great flavors, I think spicy pork and bibimbap are my favorite, run by the sweetest and hardest working woman in Boulder. Always a good dining experience, highly recommend it! read more

i'm hoping you can trust my review since i grew up eating this exact food cooked by my korean mother for more than 30 years. by virtue of korean dna and daily consumption of this food i think i know a little bit about this cuisine. i think... super amazing food that is completely legit and cooked by a women nicer and more charming than my own mother. i come here for lunch often and will arrive early to ensure i am able to eat - goody monster can get busy with a constant stream of people looking for authentic korean food at a reasonable price close to your place of work/study. if you look past the asiaphiles trying to practice speaking their favorite asian language on the recent cohort of international students, you'll see that many of them actually make their way over here to get a taste of home at goody monster. i will usually order the dae-ji-bul-go-gi (spicy pork) plate or soon-du-bu (spicy soft tofu). the pork plate comes with a heap of rice and side vegetables (freshly sliced cucumber and lettice). the pork is tender and marinated very well. this spicy pork dish here brings back fond memories of growing up. soon-du-bu is the perfect concoction of korean red pepper, soft tofu, and bits and pieces. it seems the bowl is neverending and filled to the brim with tasty goodness. i never leave hungry and i always leave with a smile on my face. i will start to branch out and try other menu items more frequently but it's tough to leave my favorites unordered and uneaten. with a delicious shake, this is a lunch made in heaven. you can order other drinks with your meal or quench your thirst using the self-serve iced water conveniently placed on the counter. goody monster can always count on me as their customer. read more

Ever since living in K-town in LA i've really wanted a koran place to eat here in boulder. This place totally satisfies that craving. As far back as i can remember there has never been in a korean place in boulder so its really cool to finally have one. The food here is wonderful and comes in huge servings that are bound to leave you full. The food is really authentic, at least authentic to all the korean places i ate at in k-town. The bi bim bap and bulgolgi are great and what i've tried from the dishes my friends have ordered are also good. The lady who runs this place is super nice. It seems that whenever I find myself extremely hungry, I immediately start craving Korean food. It could be because the cuisine has such an abundance of rice dishes, noodles, and soups that can satisfy any type of hunger or that for the longest time I wished for a decent Korean food place within walking distance of the Boulder campus. I'm going to have to say my cravings are usually a result of both. Now that the College Food Court has this nice addition to the area, I can easily curb my hunger just by stopping in. Certainly not a place to go for its decor but it is roomy enough to be able to sit down and thoroughly enjoy your meal. My go-to dish is the bibimbap, an assortment of various seasoned vegetables, beef, a chili pepper paste, and an egg on top of a bed of steaming white rice. The ingredients are mixed together before you eat it, leading up to a very tasty spoonful with every bite; it also fills me up for most of the day. As a soup lover, I also enjoy the various soups that are on the menu, especially the kimchi soup with its spiciness and tangy flavor. I especially love adding some rice to accompany the soup. The food is always made to order as well, which makes it all the more fresh. The owner is extremely cheerful and nice; she loves to ask you how you're doing and how the food tastes, making sure that what you are getting is something you're happy with. read more

I'm a Korean from Los Angeles, so when I have a craving for Korean food I get kind of antsy. I go to school in Fort Collins, but I had some work in Boulder so I decided to search for a possible Korean food place to eat as well while I was out there. I had Goodie Monster's Dukkbokki and it really hit the spot. The sauce was flavorful and traditional- the dukk was soft but chewy, and the fishcake in it was also appetizing.
