We went there almost a week ago, to find a religious medal, on which I've already bought online similar (same size, and one smaller than a dime size). This medal was the perfect size for my needs. I also purchased two more pendants. Paid for with my Credit Card. Sunday, I decided to re-arrange my pendants to go with my other pendants, and none of them fit my gold chain. I also found some gold rings to attach to my medals, and one of them didn't even fit inside my ring. I decided to return the two pendants. We drove all the way to Beaverton, just blocks away from the shop, when I took my receipt out of my purse, where it's been, to make sure I have it, when I read my receipt. (see photo below). I freaked out! Yes, I'm blocks away, and I'm freaking out, that they won't take it back. 20% RESTOCKING FEE? No return on jewelry and guns (I can understand guns, but jewelry?) I am not a crook, I'm an honest citizen, a previous customer, who gave them a good review, the first time. I decided to go back home and think about what else I could do! They didn't tell me any of THAT! They were busy! I opened a Credit Card Dispute on the phone, that evening. I also try to sell one of the pendants, to a friend of mine who like religious stuff, maybe, I can try to dispute the other pendant. After much talking, she decided to buy it for her daughter's graduation. I told her: I'll throw in the box and put a bow on it. I also decided, to keep the other pendant, that didn't fit my original chain, for a gift to my granddaughter's graduation (hopefully she won't see my review, and add a more expensive gold chain from my collection). I closed the dispute! LESSON LEARNED HERE: Make sure you understand the store's policy, before you take out your wallet. I could have been in a worst situation, I am glad, I found other solutions. Ok look I might be nieve about some stuff, but I understand the concept of a pawn shop. You should never expect to get "fair market value" at a pawn shop, honestly it cracks me up reading comments (not on YELP) with people whining that they were expecting more $$$. It takes effort to get full valve...taking to a pawnshop is a last resort. While I was waiting I took a look around. There were some really cool guitars, framed pieces, and watches. I purchased many Black Friday watches last week, so I just observed. I had two diamond rings. One was the wedding band I no longer wear, and another was a ring i purchased over 10 years ago. I presented them to him and i replied that i wanted $2,000 at least for both of them. He replied in no uncertain terms that he couldn't come close to this. Honestly that's what I was expecting. I've been a longtime customer of this place for many years both purchased and loans ,but recently I wanted to check on a pistol I own . The price was a lil offensive but I get it they're a business. The part of the problem is their so called firearms professional insisted my pistol was broken and belittled me by letting me know he knew more since he owned 8 of them . lol I had to show him a groove where it was part of the gun . I have my knowledge around firearms and keep that to myself and like to hear how awesome some people tell me they are. I don't think I will ever do business again with them I just don't need the negativity. I've been here many times within the last 3years. Today I came in with the same sterling silver tennis bracelet with many real diamonds on it five minutes to closing. Yeah I know it's an asshole thing to do, but I've been a server for 10+ years and had this happen many times. If you say you close at 5 then you close at 5 not 455 regardless if someone comes in. I was offered $10 for the same bracelet I pawned there three months ago for $60. Obviously didn't wanna spend 5mins to do it and the paperwork. So went down the street to USA pawn which is horrible and spent an hour there and they gave me $75. Just very upsetting and disappointing after years of amazing service. If you don't wanna do the transaction just say so or change yer hours to 4:55pm on a Saturday so people don't waste their time and gas. Thanks in advance. read more

DISHONEST PAWNSHOP. Bought a $350 gold chain as a gift for my son turning a teenager. This chain turned out to be fake and I was giving my son a hard time about having a dirty neck. I took it back and found the record of the purchase on 6/25/25 and the owner stated we didn't sell you this with no explanation. Even with the receipt. This pawnshop has no integrity and should be held accountable for this despicable way of treating a loyal customer for over the years. I have been shopping at A Cut Above since they were in their old location. I don't usually write reviews for them but wanted to point out how great they are for musical instruments. In the past year I've bought a G&L Bass guitar from them and more recently a Fender Stratocaster. Both of them were less than perfect but were priced accordingly, if not slightly lower than than the market would likely have beared. They seem to have an employee now that is more enthusiastic about guitars than they have had in the past. The selection of late has been great. I've seen nice Fenders and Gibson Les Pauls there, among others. The inventory frequently changes but if you are in the market this is a great place to at least visit. You can also find some of their inventory on another musical instrument website but it's worth going into the store to get an even better price. read more

This is a great place. Not only an exceptional and wise FFL, but also a most pleasant staff and they have awesome items to purchase. While perusing through their inventory, I found multiple items of great interests. They have some cool stuff at nice prices. High quality items too, no junk at all here. I ended up finding some sweet ammo that I had not found anywhere else and that was off the market, plus I found hidden treasures that made me want to return. I trust this place and these people, plus they are warm and welcoming to all customers. Specifically, they had some sweet musical instruments, high tier stuff. Rare and beautiful knives. Priceless collectables such as medals and memorabilia. Everything was clean and the place even looks appealing, well kept and has a charm about it. I was most impressed with their gun selection too! Great guns in excellent condition. I was a dummy for not acting fast on a certain item, but they had other options that fit the bill nicely. I was impressed with the variety of firearms they had too. From rare heirloom quality pieces, to modern masterpieces. They seem to be experts at discerning what is worth keeping in stock, because I didn't see anything I didn't like, plus they schooled me on some cool stuff. They were helpful in suggesting options based on what I was looking for and I felt they were in my best interest because they gave great advice. I spoke with different people about different items and they seemed to know what they were dealing with due to how well their product knowledge was and the industry insight they had on different subjects also, not a one trick pony here, they have a plethora of knowledge on a wide range of subjects. Great to talk to as well, good attitudes and easy going, but still very professional. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anything they have to offer. They have great services and keep a healthy stock of incredible items worth buying. They truly are "A Cut Above" no bull. I live down the street I've always done business at this pawnshop I bring a lot of expensive merchandise in there such as gold jewelry ,guns, Apple products and high-end Louis Vuitton products. I've Never had a problem until one day I go in there too loan a gold chain that had been in there before I gave it to a fat guy wearing a ball cap. I've seen him in there before but I have never personally done business with him, anyways I gave him the gold chain that had been in there three or four times before he takes it to his little testing station breaks it into three pieces then gives it back to me and says there's nothing he can do and that it's not real. Like I said the exact chain had been in there multiple times. I don't know if he felt like an idiot for breaking it. But the fact that he totally ruined it and gave it back insulting me saying it's not real and there's nothing he can do?! I will never go back there and do business and I would give this place zero stars for that if I could. read more

The staff here has always been welcoming! I purchased my first guitar here some time ago and my first shotgun on a different occasion. The guitar was in fine condition and they sold it at a more than reasonable price so I did not ask to negotiate a price. The second time I was there I browsed there nice collection of rifles. A few stood out but a shotgun with all the bells and whistles stood out to me. It was a tactical mossberg 12 gauge. After asking if they could drop the price any lower they shaved off 50 bucks from the original price plus gave me a free box of shells. Nice guys! Plus they offered a box to go with it. I didn't want the box but it was a nice gesture though! I had a great pawn experience here. Pretty nice stuff, even nicer staff. The only thing that could have made it better is if there were more pistols to look at and possibly buy. Overall highly satisfied. read more
