Walk ins are welcome but they were so busy I couldn't get in, but I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day with Samantha who came highly recommended for the cut I was looking for (which is basically a shag for curly hair) and Samantha knocked it out of the park!! She knows what she's doing with curly hair (probably because she also has curly hair). The salon is clean and inviting, we were just a day away from valentines so we chatted about DIY gifts for our kids and other members of our families. She recommended Christina, and this woman not only made me look like a goddess with a minimal amount cut off (I thought we were going to have to chop off my already shoulder-length hair,) but right off the bat was so conversational, without asking dumb or awkward questions, and we talked the whole time. I was having one of the worst days ever, was 15 minutes late to my appointment, and she took me out of the zone I was in and after she put me in the glam chair to take pics with my new, gorgeously styled hair, I left feeling so much better than when I walked in. I'm not posting a pic just because I had a super long day again and not ready to make nice, if you know what I mean. But this place should be on your list for lashes or hair for sure, and probably every other service they offer. Haven't done any spa treatments yet but if I ever want one, I know where I'm going.

Comfy couches, a small retail area with trendy clothes, candles, and accessories - everything you don't need but will definitely want! The coffee and tea station had coffee but no cups and didn't appear 'stocked', so I wasn't sure if that was for customers or staff only. However, we were offered waters when we checked in. Front desk is not attended at times but it seems everyone helps jump in when needed. The stylists seem to love the owner and the opportunities she gives them. So happy we found this salon with great people and service!

An inflight internet search led to The Hair Bar. Upon landing in Seattle , I called to see if I could possibly be accommodated for a wash and style. A friendly voice , (Mariah) answered my call and informed me they were able to fit me in same day within just a couple of hours!! When I arrived for my appointment, I was promptly greeted by Mariah and introduced to my stylist, Kim. Kim was extremely knowledgeable of hair and hairstyling products. She recommended a mask as my hair was a bit dry. She gave my hair a moisturizing wash and it felt so clean and soft. They carry very high quality hair products that I recognized right away. I was glad to see that. My hair is high maintenance and it felt and looked beautiful after Kim styled it. She asked all the questions, to learn more about my hair and what I was looking for in my style. Im two days into the style and It still smells and looks amazing! I will make it a point to visit this shop next time I'm visiting Seattle/ Marysville.

She washed and dried my hair, then cut it while it was dry. She mentioned it looked "choppy" -- still not sure how to feel about that! Overall, it was a pleasant experience. About two weeks later, I booked a micro blonde appointment. A week after I booked it, I was told my time slot had already been taken by another client. I was flexible and moved it to the next day, but it meant taking time off work. Then, the morning of the appointment, I got a text that I'd need to cancel and reschedule because Molly was under the weather. At that point, a quick phone call would have been nice! When I finally got in, the color appointment went really well. I'm sticking with blonde and she did it in a way that's super low maintenance, which I appreciate. Overall, I'd give The Hair Bar 4 stars -- just be prepared that the online booking isn't always perfect, and sometimes a phone call is better than a text.
