I usually go to Angie for my lashes because she is the most talented and accommodating stylist I could hope for and she's never poked me in the eye and I have no idea how that's possible after 2 years. She did my blonde hair once and it was so great, when I was ready to do it again she was fully booked up about 6 weeks. She recommended Christina, and this woman not only made me look like a goddess with a minimal amount cut off (I thought we were going to have to chop off my already shoulder-length hair,) but right off the bat was so conversational, without asking dumb or awkward questions, and we talked the whole time. I was having one of the worst days ever, was 15 minutes late to my appointment, and she took me out of the zone I was in and after she put me in the glam chair to take pics with my new, gorgeously styled hair, I left feeling so much better than when I walked in. I'm not posting a pic just because I had a super long day again and not ready to make nice, if you know what I mean. But this place should be on your list for lashes or hair for sure, and probably every other service they offer. LOVE these folks! Originally when I came in 6/22/16 I had past trauma from my first professional highlights/haircut elsewhere, but April made that disappear within hours! Honestly every time I come in she makes me feel so overwhelmingly happy with the process and my results, I feel like a queen. She taught me how to care for my naturally curly hair and recommended products that have worked wonders. I was just in for a trim and highlights once they reopened, and though they weren't allowed to use hair dryers due to covid my hair turned out amazing! Everyone in here is super kind and helpful. I've also brought my mom in a few years back and she is just as in love with them, quot her old place and goes in regularly. This place is my go-to! It's a hair salon but may as well be an all-out spa. The girls here treat me like a princess! It's so clean, updated, and classy in here. - Their 'organic' products left my scalp burning and itching. It's been a couple of days since I got my hair done at this place and i have washed my hair twice and applied coconut oil all over my scalp and hair because the strong smell just wouldnt go away. Day 2 and my skin is still itching like crazy. Reminded me of my high scool year when I used to use the box of hair dye from the grocery store. Not the stylist fault but beware of their 'Organic' products. - My hair came out orange. Looks far from what the picture I showed the stylist. I had natural black hair and my old hair stylist always knew how to work with my hair and had always given me the style I wanted. But she went back to school and no longer doing hair so I'm out of luck. I showed the pic of the style I wanted to the gal at this salon and she said she definitely could do it. First try she didnt get it right. My hair was still dark and not light like I wanted. So she redid it. Still didnt get it right, instead my hair turned orange. I was done at that point but I wasn't rude to her nor showed her that I was upset. I even gave her $20 tip because she was really nice. But I wasn't not happy with the result at all. - I was told over the the text that for the style I want it'll cost $150 with 50% off for being a first time customer. But when I paid, it was $175 with no discount. I didn't think about it at that moment because I was already super tired and hungry from being there nearly hours. I wanted to just get out of there. I also thought maybe the service I was given cost a lot more than what the person priced me over the phone and with the discount that was the correct price. It wasn't until I got home and had dinner I went to their website and check out their services and prices. Found out, if 50% is applied, none of their services would cost what they charged me. I texted them that very same night and asked about it. It was late so I didnt expect an answer right away. The next morning, I sent them a pic of my receipt to so that they can see. No response. I called and no answer. I waited for a respond that whole day but nothing. So overall I would not recommend this place. Not to anyone. Find another salon that would honor their words and discount instead of one that's only eager to bring customers in. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Awful experience..owner was incredibly unprofessional and all about overpricing with bad results. With hair just the tips of hair colored pink was 200 which wasn't the price quoted. On top, no instructions on what to do for after care to keep color. Which ended up coming out in 3 days! Also did multiple body wraps that costs 400 with no results. I have been going to essential earth organic salon for a little over 2 years now. It used to be great, but they seem to have become very greedy. I was told a gloss would be $30 before I made my appointment, when I arrived I was told it was now $40, but ended being charged $50. They also tend to book 2 or 3 people at a time, per stylist and you end up getting several people doing your hair. One even including a cosmetology student. He basically rips my hair out every time they let him wash or blow dry (nearly every time I go now they let him do my hair). I end up leaving with great hair, but way overcharged and with a sore scalp. Currently looking for a new salon. I go to a professional salon to have hair taken care of by professionals, not a student. If wanted it done by a student I would go to the cosmetology school for 1/4 of the price. read more

I absolutely love love love this place!! Today was my first time getting my hair and brows done! All the ladies here are fantastic and they all work together which is so amazing! My hair had not been trimmed in over 6 months because it was chopped by the last place they took like 6 inches that i did not ask for! I was completely mortified and traumatized. I also had not had my hair professionally bleached in over 6 years. Some home remedies to "try" to be blonde but more looking like goldy locks! I saw my friend post her hair after coming to this salon and decided I had to see her stylist!! Her name is Miranda M she is so amazing! I was there for many hours and watched lots of ladies have fantastic transformations! When she turned me around at the end to see my hair I could have cried out in joy! But I had to maintain some composure! These woman are so good at what they do!! True professionals too! I came by to cut off hair to be donated and to get a nice hairstyle. I normally don't treat myself to a salon haircut but wanted to this time. Nora washed my hair and left deep conditioner in for a couple of minutes. This was my first visit and I was not asked if I had any preferences, sensitivities or allergies to ingredients before the shampoo and conditioner were used. I had no idea which products were being used on my hair. I was there for about 20 minutes or longer and my neck was starting to hurt so I had to sit up while holding my hair on top of my head until a staff came back to rinse it off. I think they were busy that day so that might be why it took longer than expected. I had a woman named Michelle cut my hair. She listened to what kind of haircut I wanted and gave some insights when I asked for feedback such as how to keep my hair from being very poofy (big/thick) since it would be above my shoulder for the length. She was nice and patient. I informed her earlier that my hair would become straight if it's blow-dried but she still blew dry it (not sure why because my wavy haircut wouldn't look right if it was cut while straight). The power went out due to a big storm that was going on while she was blow drying my hair. A generator was brought in to give some power for some tools that needed to be plugged in and a lamp for visibility. I went over to a different chair near the lamp so she could see my hair while cutting it. I was nervous because it was completely dark except the lamp behind me and I was having 11 inches cut off. She somehow got it cut and I was at the front desk with Nora again. The owner informed Nora of what kind of haircut I had gotten and then she decided to let me have the haircut for free. I still left a $10 tip for their kindness and patience for communicating with me (I am Deaf). I thanked them and left with my donated hair inside a bag. I had to wash my hair again due to there being a strong scent/fragrance from one (or several) products that were used on my hair since it was giving me a headache and I also wanted to get rid of the freshly cut hair pieces that were falling out. After several times of washing and styling it, my haircut does not appear to be "extraordinary" as if I got it cut at a salon. It appears to be normal such as getting it cut at a place like Great Clips. I was hoping to get a really nice haircut since I haven't been able to do this for many years. I think it might be because the salon lost power and they couldn't give 100% to make it look very nice. I'm willing to give this place another chance in the future to see if it'll be nicer with the power on this time :) read more

My color didn't turn out the way I was hoping for. I was never asked how I wanted my hair cut. They are the professionals so I just let them do their thing. Multiple people worked on my hair which was a little strange. Overall I was okay with my hair but now wowed. I used a Yelp deal and would have been disappointed if I had paid full price. I would still go back though and speak up next time. They use organic products which is awesome. read more

These women are truly gifted at the art of hair. I go to Miranda M & am very loyal to her. But I have been wowed by Ananda's talent many times while in the salon. In fact, regardless of the artist, I have never seen a customer look average when leaving the salon. A true salon spa experience. I get 5 star hair at a 2.5 star price. This review has been a long time coming. I have visited Essential Earth about a half dozen times over that last 4 years. My first experience was using a gift certificate that a friend got me so that I could get a haircut for my birthday. It was a nice experience overall with Carmen cutting my hair. I don't get into the salon often so when I do I'm really hoping for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The next time I came in for a cut appointment with Carmen I found it odd that I had at least 4 different stylist working on my hair throughout my appointment. It felt unorganized and rushed but wrote it off as an "off day". I had a couple more trims over the next couple years and noticed that their practice of having multiple stylists switching on and off of clients was the norm. Some people might not be bothered by this but I find it off putting and distracting from my service. My last and final visit was the one that cemented my decision to never come back. I decided to make an appointment to have an updo done for my wedding on Oct 6. 2018. I sent in pictures of what I wanted and of my hair in it's natural state. The girl who I communicated with via text to make my appointment assured me that Carmen would be able to achieve the style I wanted in my allotted appointment time. I told her that it was very important that I leave by a certain time. The day of was upon me and I arrived at the salon only to be made to wait for over 20 min! I was extremely worried that there wouldn't be enough time. As I waited I watched the stylists running about from client to client while several sat in chairs completely unattended for way longer than I find acceptable. When Carmen finally came to take me to the chair I received no apology for the long wait and she seemed flustered and disheveled. I tried to stay positive because this late in the game, only a few hours before my ceremony I had no choice but to hope for the best. I tried to show her the picture to make sure we were on the same page and she said she didn't need to see it yet. I could tell that she was not going about creating my style the correct way. It was supposed to be loose and voluminous on the top and she was pulling it tight to my scalp. I tried to intervene before getting further away from what I wanted and she got really snappy with me and then proceeded to leave me in the chair to go work on another client with no explanation at all! I was absolutely dumbfounded by the unprofessionalism and immature behavior she was exhibiting. I was supposed to be enjoying getting a beautiful updo service before my wedding and now I was stuck sitting in a chair with my hair flattened out and tangled with almost no time to fix it. One of the other stylists saw what was going on and was very kindly trying to assure me that someone could fix it. She said that their newest stylist was really good at updos and would come help. I can't remember her name but she was very sweet and professional. She did her best in the very little time we had left but it still ended up not looking anything like what I had hoped for. I was not only extremely disappointed with my end result but I was downright disgusted with how Carmen, who I believe is the owner, handled my service. She obviously had no clue how to achieve the desired style and instead of reaching out to another stylist or working with me to come up with something else she just walked away and left me sitting there! I really wanted to love this salon because organic products and local businesses are important to me but after my horrific experience last time I would advise anyone thinking about coming here to go someplace else. read more

I love these ladies! I had been coloring my hair Black at home for several months and was tired of it. Knowing that black is extremely difficult to remove I opted for a professional. Since I had been only touching up the top roots there was plenty of natural color underneath for them to match to. They nailed it! As a bonus, my hair was incredibly soft even though it had been double processed. They do Round Robin on you but I think it makes the appt more efficient. read more

I went to this place for a cut, color and to purchase hair products. Approximately 4 hours and $300.00 later I left in shock. I think the woman who did my hair was "not quite right ". She put my hair in a ponytail and then cut off my ponytail. Then she colored my hair. Three different people blew my hair dry, 3! I heard her say stick straight to one of them. Every single time I have had my hair done here I have told them I don't use a flat iron! I like my natural curl or waves. I don't like flat irons! Again they attack my hair with a flat iron. I just sat there in disbelief and feeling stupid. When I left I realized she never even cut my hair! She had been busy running around trying to juggle more than one client. I gave the salon 2 stars because someone else did fix the problems. I'm done with this salon now. They take too long, don't bother with what the client requests are, not very creative (all their hair models have the same styles) and are very expensive! read more

The staff were very nice and the environment very relaxing...BUT I got the worst haircut I have ever had!!!! I have to now pay somebody to fix the damage. It is emabarring how bad my hair looks. This salon is also different because not just one person does your hair. Everybody in the salon does your hair. So if you are not comfortable with lots of people touching you do not do it!! They do use orgainc local products which I love, but I will not return. They do pamper you, but you are just spending more money as you sit there. Not for me. read more

I was a regular customer... I say was, because the last few times that I've been there, my stylist hasn't listened to me and practically done the opposite of what I requested. When the salon first opened it was wonderful and I recommended it to everyone I knew, it has slowly gone downhill for the last year to the point of my last couple of appointments taking approx. 3 hours each for a foil. The "extras" that they used to do have gone by the wayside and it seems as if they are always "too busy" to take the time to provide the good service for which I'm paying. I purchased a Groupon and was very impressed with my hair cut. I also love the Loma brand shampoo and conditioner they recommended for my hair. I have very thick coarse hair so it is always hard to find natural shampoos that make my hair look great. The Loma shampoos not only make my hair look great but thanks to the store's online shop I am able to continue to order the products at a great price. read more

I recently had a bad experience with being over bleached. I had severe breakage and wanted to have someone fix it that wasn't from the salon that did the damage. I had lost my trust. I was referred to this salon from a friend who loved it. I went in and met Carmen. She seemed nice enough and I entrusted her to fix my hair. Unfortunately, I shouldn't have. She didn't give me one on one attention, I was the last of her priorities while at work. I was nervously sitting in that chair hoping she could help me. I got a disaster on top of the disaster I already had. Now, at this point, I've lost all hope that anyone could help me. Two 'stylist' at two reputable salons just made me look like someone I've never known. I hate my cut. Before I hated the dye job. I tipped her because I am nice and don't want people to feel bad about themselves and also didn't complain because I didn't trust her anymore. She did this to my hair??? How could I trust her to try to fix it? I am sure other stylist there are better and hope no one else has had my experience. I definitely will not be back. read more

QUALITY HAS GONE DOWN so I am no longer a regular customer. This is not the same place it was when it opened, unfortunately. The last few visits took 2-3 hours for a color and trim. That's because they overbook and ignore you. A person who works there got priority and special attention over me, a customer! The last couple of visits I've walked out with bad color and my hair cut when I asked for a trim. My hair has orange streaks and its layered. I JUST WANTED BLONDE HAIR! SIMPLE REQUEST! It used to be a great salon. They used to give you their full attention, they'd get your hair done correctly, do your make up and massage your hands. I would walk out happy. Now I sit and wait with foil on my head, in the corner, waiting to be acknowledged. I am so disappointed. Multiple people work on your hair now. Prepare to be frustrated if you come here.
