Satra Zarghami became our lead and day of coordinator two weeks before our wedding, because our original coordinator took a new position. Normally this could send a type A minus and type b plus bride and groom into minor freak out mode, but Satra transitioned so seamlessly that it was as if she was on board the whole time. Of course she is organized, responsive (almost instantaneously), collected, attentive, and available. Those are givens. But do not be fooled by her quiet calmness and cool demeanor, this girl is on it!! We had a few minor delays and setbacks, including running behind, and she kept going unphased and even brought us back up to schedule by the cocktail hour. When our shuttle driver got lost with 30 of our earlier guests, she fixed its without my groom and I even having a chance to worry. We were able to enjoy our day, be with our family and friends, and all the details that could have dampened the joy (loading cars at the end of the evening, setting up, locating people, handling payments for example) she handled without batting and eye. And our guests couldn't stop saying what a perfect wedding its was! they claimed nothing went wrong! Satra is AMAZING! We contracted Satra to be our Day Of Coordinator for a wedding of 325 people, and were so happy we did. Our wedding was beautiful and we couldn't have done it without her. She contacted all of our vendors to confirm their arrival, was able to take over the day of with very little guidance, made sure all of our vendors were fed, double checked our timeline to see if it would work, and she set up the reception beautifully. She is also very responsible and on top of her game. We really appreciated that she accommodated our venue changed, and increase in guestlist! We originally had about 250 guests, and somehow along the way, it went up to 325. Satra gracefully accepted it and worked with us. There were a couple of hiccups during the wedding that were out of our control (a major one was guests arriving an hour late due to traffic). Satra was quick on her feet and made the wedding timeline work. None of the guests knew that we were forced to delay the wedding. We also caught up with everything and the rest is history. Satra was an INCREDIBLE coordinator for our wedding. We hired her not just for day-of, but for month-of, which was awesome. In our kickoff meeting with her (she had done a ton of weddings at our venue and also knew almost all of our vendors), we talked about my vision for the wedding, she asked us for all our vendor info, we agreed on a timeline, and after that... BLISS. We didn't have to do ANYTHING. I remember so clearly the moment at our kickoff meeting when Satra smiled, looked me in the eyes and said, "You don't need to be taking notes on any of this - I'm going to handle all of it." After a year and a half of wedding planning, sweeter words could not have been spoken to me. And she was right - she handled all of it. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, if my stepmom or my fiance's mom or a vendor or the venue or anyone else had questions or concerns, I said, "Talk to Satra!" There were a ton of email threads between Satra and our family members, vendors, etc. that I didn't even read, because I didn't need to. At the rehearsal and on the wedding day, nobody from our families or the wedding party asked me anything about where to be or when to go there or what to do, because Satra had already prepped them. I should also point out that we had an Indian fusion wedding, which was... complicated. Lots of moving parts. Satra dealt with all of it. It seems like a small thing, but one of my biggest concerns leading up to the wedding was that my walk down the aisle would be timed appropriately. The song I'd chosen needed to play for all nine of my bridesmaids and also for my dad and I during the processional, and there was a specific moment in the song that I wanted to match up with the moment my dad and I appeared walked down the aisle. I was terrified that the bridesmaids wouldn't be paced appropriately and that specific part of the song would happen before my dad and I started walking down the aisle, or that the song would end before my dad and I reached the altar. I had a mild freak-out moment when the bridesmaids were walking down the aisle and asked Satra if everything was timed correctly, and she showed me her phone - she'd created a countdown timer that was perfectly configured to the timing I'd requested. Everything went perfectly. I should stop rambling, but I'd like to make one final point - Satra has the calmest, most soothing energy. She is the perfect antidote to wedding anxiety. She tells you she'll handle it, and she absolutely will. As you might have guessed, on the day of your wedding, your attention will be divided between about a thousand things. Based on my experience, the most difficult part of wedding planning is vendor selection. There are dozens of types of vendors you need for your wedding (venue, catering, cake, florals, music, lighting, stationary, officiant) and for each vendor there are dozens of options. Assuming you talk to at least 5 different vendors for each category, you can easily have 50+ conversations. When faced with a budget, multiple options that sound good, but no idea in reality what things will look like, it is a super difficult task. All that said, save yourself the pain and go with Satra. Of all our vendors, she was our favorite and the choice we were happiest with. I talked to 4 different planners for month-of service and Satra was the most calm and collected. These are two traits you need for wedding planning because when your fiancé and you start getting stressed, you need that voice of reason and experience to tell you things are ok and what you should consider that you're not. Where do I even begin? Working with Satra was the best decision we made for our wedding. She was amazing. We hired her for month-of-coordination and even before the "month before" she was prompt in responding to questions and provided tips and insights about various wedding-related questions we had. Satra was our day-of coordinator for our summer wedding in Napa and was, hands down, the best investment we made on our wedding. My husband and I planned our wedding in a short 4 months and though we hired Satra for her day-of services, she was helpful at every step of the planning process. She was able to pick up on my taste from the start and she sent me vendor referrals that matched my taste and budget. Satra's extensive experience really showed in the way she handled our wedding, from her vendor referrals to her suggestions pertaining to more minor details (her suggestions on the minor details actually helped us save some money that we wedding industry newbies would have otherwise wasted). Satra contacted all the vendors the month before the wedding to coordinate their arrival times and setup on the day of the wedding, and she took care of all the logistics the day-of. She made sure that everything ran smoothly: all of our transitions, from the processional, to the ceremony, to the photo session, to the reception, and so on were absolutely seamless. She also set up our wedding decor and did a fantastic job. Satra dealt with us and our vendors with the highest level of professionalism, and I felt that she really had our best interest and our vision for the wedding as her priority. I never got the feeling that she gave suggestions in order to strengthen her own relationships within the wedding industry or to impose her own taste on us (that's more than I can say for our other wedding vendors). We couldn't be more thrilled that we were introduced to Satra by someone who had worked with her in the past. And when they said that she was great, that was an understatement! We were concerned that we only had 4 months to plan our wedding, but at our first meeting Satra assured us in her usual, calm demeanor that we would have no trouble whatsoever finding the venue or the vendors. Satra helped us put together an absolutely flawless wedding. It's now almost 4 months later, and I am still getting compliments almost daily. We signed up for her month-of plan, but she was available and willing to answer one-off questions that came up as I was booking other vendors before that timeframe. Once she took over, she came up with an agenda for the day that was far more thought through and organized than anything I could have done on my own. Satra was our Day of Coordinator for my daughter's wedding down in Monterey at the Clement Hotel. Can 't say enough about how great she is. Weddings can be very stressful, but once we had Satra ... all the stress was taken out of the picture. She is probably the most calm person I have ever met. She was so thorough, detail oriented and every time we met with her she was organized, wrote everything down, responded quickly to all emails, is a great communicator and once the big day came she did everything she said she would. Satra is down-to-earth, very responsive, and thorough. She also obviously loves her job and cares deeply about helping people create the wedding they want. What more could you ask for? On the day of the wedding itself, she was truly a blessing. We had a complex shuttle system set up, and there was terrible traffic getting to the shuttles. People were thinking about getting stressed as the texts from our guests started to roll in, but Satra took everything into her own hands and it went off brilliantly. I think there was also a wedding crasher who tried to dance with me, but I can't even say for sure because Satra shut that down so quickly.
