They had a huge area with foam mats and blocks for kids to climb on and I was able to sit on the floor with him while he played so I could fill out the welcome paperwork. Next came the visit with Dr. Strassner (not sure if I spelt her name correctly) and she was absolutely wonderful! For one, because of my son's age, they don't expect him to be held down on a table so his teeth can be examined, which is what I was expecting, but they had a super kid friendly room with activities all over the wall and the doctor and I sat knee to knee so she could examine him while he was secured in both our laps. She was super thorough and cleaned his teeth in 30 seconds while we all sang him The Wheels on the Bus. She had an attentive, comforting bedside manner and made several excellent recommendations with alternative options depending on my comfort level. My son has a lip tie and she wasn't pushy about removing it because he is unaffected by it. After his (quick and thorough) visit, my son got to pick a toy from a bin and we were on our way. He is just not good. I knew I needed a lot of work, and he proceeded to do five extractions in one afternoon. He struggled with the removals and chafed and cut the inside of my mouth. After the anesthetic wore off, this was nearly as painful as the extractions. My mouth was terribly sore. But the kicker was that I have never been to a dentist who could or would not provide something to provide potent pain relief after what amounted to serious dental surgery. This guy could not offer anything but Ibuprofen, which was laughable. I had a follow-up appointment set for one week later, but cancelled it. I was still in pain. I will be going to a competent dentist who can do the work and prescribe the appropriate medications. Part of good and effective medical treatment is ensuring patients don't suffer post-op pain. Failure to deal with this issue means you are only doing half your job as a doctor. Avoid this guy at all costs. It's not worth suffering because he can't or won't dispense proper meds.

I knew it was a win when I found out Dr. Longoria bought Dr. Friedman's practice...I saw him as a…read morewhile. I found it easy to make an appointment. I took my 2 1/2 year old to his first dental appointment. Check in was a breeze. The office is so modern and beautiful. It is conveniently located in the Rice Village/West U area on Kirby. Although Kirby can be quite congested, I found it easy to navigate. I didn't think there was much parking, but if you driver further to the back and around you will find more. I was nervous being my little's first visit, but he took it like a pro. The dental assistant was fantastic and complimented his superb behavior. She couldn't believe this was his first time. My child was completely at ease. Dr. Longoria then came in with all smiles. She was gentle and very knowledgeable. Being new at this, she told me everything I need to know to keep my little's teeth in check. I left feeling completely satisfied. She's not one of those dentist to say you need this and that for a cash grab like some other dentist offices I've experienced in the past.
