He gave me a timeframe. Just like he said, the guy came out on the best day/time that worked for me and only took ten minutes to install the new blinds. It was a positive experience.

We were able to book our appointment through Home Depot, with Avalon Shutters contacting us the next business day and getting them to come out for a consultation within the week. Measurements done and custom fitted shutters installed, the whole process took about 15 days. I joked with my husband, if Memorial Day had not just happened this likely would have taken only 2 weeks. The Install of 15 shutters took about 4 hours including inspection and cleanup. The whole team were punctual, professional, efficient, and friendly: Jacob did the initial consultation, Craig did the final measurements, Israel and Roger were the formal installers. 100% happy with this company and happy to work with them again in the future.

I told her that was actually perfect because I was having breakfast nearby. We agreed that my adult niece would let her into the house so she could begin measuring the windows while I drove home. Macy specifically told me that would work and said she would arrive around 12:40 p.m. According to my security camera, she didn't arrive until 12:52 p.m. My niece opened the door, and I was only about 10 minutes away. Instead of starting the measurements as we had discussed, Macy immediately told my niece she had another appointment and needed to leave. I called Macy to find out what happened. Rather than apologizing, she was rude and blamed me for "being late having breakfast." I reminded her that the plan was for her to start measuring while I was on my way home. She then claimed measuring would only take about five minutes and said she wasn't going to wait for me. That didn't make much sense considering I have numerous windows throughout my home that needed to be measured for a shutter estimate. What bothered me most was the double standard. She expected me to accommodate her arriving late, which I gladly did, but she wasn't willing to wait approximately 10 minutes for me, even though my appointment window extended until 2:00 p.m. If she had another commitment at 2:00 p.m. that prevented her from completing the consultation, she shouldn't have scheduled me till 2:00 p.m. When I told her I would probably find another company, her response was, "That's fine. We have a lot of business anyway. We're really booked." That comment, along with her overall attitude, showed a complete lack of customer service. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Avalon Shutters. Being late is understandable, but poor communication, blaming the customer, and treating them dismissively is not.

Caleb, the representative, was clear, concise, and never tried to pressure me into anything. He knew I was on a tight schedule, so he kept the presentation short and to the point while still thoroughly explaining the company and its products. He explained that Hometime offers a lifetime warranty on both the windows and installation for as long as you own the home. He also brought product samples, which helped me better understand what I was purchasing. Hometime came in lower than all of the other quotes I received. The proposal was professionally prepared and included all of the information Caleb had discussed during our meeting, making it easy to review afterward. Whenever I had questions, Caleb responded within a reasonable timeframe during business hours. Scheduling was simple and straightforward. Their scheduling system sent reminders about my appointment and clearly communicated what to expect. The turnaround time from order to installation was approximately six weeks. On installation day, a crew of three arrived. They all introduced themselves and were very respectful. I joked that they would have some "watchers"--my three kids--who had plenty of questions throughout the day.
