When they called me, they told me I have to call Danby the manufacturer to call them??? I told them Danby was their customer. not me, and they should call Danby to let them know my dehumidifier could not be repaired. They insisted they were correct??? How dense can you be??? They should have, and could have just called Danby in the first place. not tell me to have Danby call them!!! My 13 year old electric dryer was making a noise that sounded like a metal belt scraping every time it rotated. I knew it had to be fixed and put it off for as long as I could, well I called AFCO and had a repairman out the very next day, and it was one of the BEST calls that I made. I know u see one star but this joke of a company gets no stars..I called for a repair to my a/c three days ahead of time..when I called to confirm on the day of..the coward who answered the phone (who was also the repairman) said the guy would be there very shortly..1 hour later nothing..I called back and a woman answered..background noise sounded like it was from her home..kids yelling..etc..she says" I cant locate the guy..he's not answering..he should have been there" im like.."really, maybe he got scared when he saw it was a predominantly black neighborhood"..she goes "oh noooooooo it has nothing to do with color, I have two black customers i love!!!................. I was thinking lady shut up you sound like almost every white woman across the USA..all I want is a courtesy call from this punk so I don't waste my day...so here's​ the kicker...I was downstairs the whole time watching and waiting for the "grey pickup",,..she calls back and says "yea he said he went over there and parked but two guys were begging for money so he left"...LOL..never happened!!! it was clearly a case of white fright & flight..so I asked if anyone else with balls was available?...."no im sorry..they're all scared now"..My day was pretty much shot but I saved the $80 they rob you of for coming out..I'm always calling repairmen for something... and the majority have been white men and there has been NO problem ever..never..I will spread the word to everyone I know to steer clear of these clowns!!~ read more

They are the worst!!! I was charged $137 to repair my dryer which did not work after the service. They came out and told me I needed a whole new computer part and it's expensive. They said they will call the manufacturer for the price of the part. I was told it was in the high $300's and with labor would cost me In the high $400's. I asked for a discount and was told that the part is expensive, so they have no recourse. I called the manufacturer myself. I was given the parts department and the price for the part. It was $63.54. There is no part that is more expensive than that at all. I then called back AFCO and I was told that it was not the part but the labor which cost that much. The person, Roy, whom I had spoken with, each time, bold face lied, once he realized that I got the prices for parts, myself. He got nasty and he refused to do anything about my unfixed dryer that I had already paid to repair. Do not use them! You will regret it. read more

Recently had a gas grill fixed. The fix for the problem was to replace the regulator and hose connection from the tank to the grill. Took all but 3 minutes. Charge was excessive. $79.00 for service call, part online is $21.50 and then another $80.00 for labor..... Will never call them again. read more

WARNING: Stay away. Unfortunately, I had to give this place one star but they deserve negative stars. They came to my home for a repair and instead of fixing it, they broke something that was not under warranty and then went on to try to sell it to me. The service I received when calling was even worse and they went on to tell me "You could do whatever you want, we don't care if you use us". After they broke my piece of course so they could wash there hands of it. This day in age, I'm surprised someone like this is still in business. Keep them far away from your appliances. read more

These people are shady criminals. I placed a service call for my fridge. The repairman who came told me it would be 4 days to order a new timer but he had one on the truck he could adjust to fit. It would be $239. I asked if he would do better on the price for a jerry-rigged part he said no the right part would be even more expensive. So I said go ahead. Well I went out for the day after buying new food and came back about 8 hours later and the fridge was dead again. Now it was late saturday night and I couldn't get in touch with anyone until monday. So I took a look at the part and what he did was not only criminal but also a fire hazard I'm sure. It's a piece that looks like a plug with 4 prongs and he trimmed the prongs to make them narrower to fit the connector. Which it didn't because the spacing was off and the prongs were longer than on the original part so the prongs were sticking out about 1/4". So to secure it he taped it together with electrical tape!!! I promptly went online to find the part. Which even with a $30 expedited shipping fee was $90!! So with the $70 labor charge the job shouldn't have cost more than $160. When I spoke to him on monday he was so casual telling me he would order me the correct part. Not even acknowledging that I now had a second fridge full of spoiled food. And didn't so much as offer an apology. At that point I already ordered the part myself which was delivered by tuesday and I repaired the fridge myself in all of 2 minutes. He said if I left the timer he would leave the check. Which he did not. I called to follow up on wednesday morning at 8:30. At 2:30 I still hadn't heard back and called the office again. The woman who answered the phone refused to call him to follow up. Because she wasn't putting her job on the line to interrupt him while he was working. I told her he took 2 phone calls while he was at my house for all of 15 minutes this was urgent she began to yell at me and wouldn't let me talk. I told her I would keep calling until she contacted him. I hung up and called again. When she answered she was laughing which lead me to believe she was not alone as she stated. When I called she let the answering machine pick up telling me I was being recorded and the she was going to contact the police for harassment. So I hung up, put a stop payment on the check and logged on here for my review. read more

This company is absolutely the worst that i have ever experienced. I have an LG stove that is just over 1 years old and the inner glass of the top oven door shattered due to a bad seal from the manufacturer. I called LG customer service and they assured me it would be fixed at a cost of $258.00. This was upsetting, however I did not buy the extended warranty and agreed to pay for it. LG charged my credit card and assured me that the stove would be fixed the next day, and I made the appointment and took the day off work (which cost my another $300.00 in lost pay) to wait for AFCO Appliance. I called AFCO in the morning to confirm and was told between 12-5 p.m. I waited all day and at 4:30 I called AFCO to find out what time they were coming. I spoke with a very rude man named ROY. I explained to him that I took the day off work and was waiting all day and needed the stove fixed because we were having a holiday party the next day. He told me they couldn't make the appointment because they couldn't get the glass. I didn't understand - I confirmed in the morning and if they couldn't get the part why didn't someone call me. Roy said what part don't you understand "you Fuc****ing Ass***ole" I pulled my phone from my ear and looked at it in amazement, I couldn't believe I was spoken to in that manner, Whatever happened to customer service? How can a person like this still work for this company and if Roy is the owner why does a huge company like LG give them business? I now read other reviews on him and see that it is not just me. There are many other customers who have had similar experiences. KEEP AWAY!!!
