I had a very disappointing experience with Jay's Appliances in Levittown. In September, I purchased a side-by-side refrigerator. Upon delivery and installation, we immediately noticed issues with the freezer door -- it was scratched, squeaked when opened, and the bins were already breaking. I contacted the store within an hour of delivery. An employee asked us to email photos, which we did right away. We also went to the store several times in person. Each time, employees took our information and assured us that the manager would contact us. Unfortunately, the manager never followed up and we received no response for months. After getting no resolution from the store, we finally contacted the manufacturer directly. While they were able to fix one issue, they informed us that the freezer door itself was only covered under a 30-day warranty. As a result, we are now stuck with a damaged door -- a situation that could have been avoided had Jay's Appliances addressed the issue when it was first reported. I have never experienced being completely ignored like this before. The lack of follow-up and customer support was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not do business with Jay's Appliances again or recommend them to others. read more

This company saved the day!! I had ordered a stove from another store and they kept delaying their delivery, holding up the kitchen completion. When I called Jays, I spoke with the owner and he had it delivered within the week. The purchase was so easy and seamless, when another store delivered out hood damaged-we canceled the order and went to Jays and had another seamless delivery! If I could give zero stars I would. Stay away from this place they are liars. I went to jays on February 15th to look for a front load washer and dryer. Anthony the salesman helped us and showed us the LG washer and dryer we were looking for when I saw the price I told him that was to much for us to spend and said thank you but I cam get these machines from Costco a lot cheaper and walked out . We went to our car snd there was a knock on the window Anthony said come back in maybe I can get you a better deal. We went back in and Anthony said he would match Costco's price so we said ok the washer and dryer were $1999. Anthony said you get an instant $100 rebate then there is a mail in rebate one for the washer and one for the dryer. Which would bring it to the same price as Costco so we said ok we will do it. I then FT my mom who these were for Anthony explained it to her as well told her the same thing he told us so before we paid he spoke to Andy the manager and Andy signed off on the sale. My mom gave Anthony her credit card over the phone he gave us the receipt and the rebate papers and told us when they deliver the machines make sure you write the serial numbers because you need them for the mail in rebate. Fast forward the machines are delivered and I immediately send in the rebates and they were declined. I call the rebate company and they told me that the salesman gave me false information the $200 was for the laundry center not washer and dryers I got but resubmit them together and they will hive me $100 but for me to call Jay's and tell them they gave me the wrong information. So called Jay's spoke to the most rude and obnoxious receptionist she was the most nasty person I ever spoke to. We asked for Anthony she said he wasn't in call back Sunday. We call back Sunday speak to Anthony said let me see what I can do and never heard back from him. Yesterday I called back to speak to Anthony again he is insistent I'm wrong thats not what he said. I told him I wouldn't have purchased it if I didn't get the same price as Costco. His answer to me was returned them then and go to Costco. I said no you told me that you would match the price. He told me to call back today and speak to the manager Maddie I tried to contact Maddie, but they're rude nasty obnoxious receptionist who pretty much called me stupid said I was wrong and rudely hung up on me. I called back and tried to explain the mathematics but obviously she's stupid because she doesn't realize that 1999 -$100 instant rebate and $200 mail and rebate would be $1699. So she said well maybe you should've looked at your receipt before you left. I said I did. It was 1999 with a $200 rebate would've brought it down to 1799 but since they added $100 delivery fee it would've only been $1799. They refuse to do anything about it and I would advise anyone who would think of going to shop at this place don't they are thieves, liars, and absolutely rude and illiterate. I will never step foot in that place again. Please.If the owner of Jay's reads this you should get rid of the person that answers your phone telling customers they are wrong and mocking their profession is totally unprofessional. she over talking me and hung up on me. My neighbors all seem to recommend this appliance store, as a better alternative to the large, reliable, chain appliance superstore. With this in mind, I made a trip to this appliance store on a Tuesday evening; it was just minutes after 7 o'clock and what do you know?, they had already locked the doors. The sales people were inside, but I guess they need to rush home to have dinner, rather than do business with people who actually work for a living. Think that was impressive? I returned the next day and was a little nervous, seeing the parking lot was equally empty except for one car in front of the store. They could not be closed again, I thought. But they weren't. I walked in and there were two customers in the store; two. I walked the length of the store to the air conditioners, walked up and down the aisle twice, found the only unit that would fit the size in my wall, took out my measuring tape and measured it. I then walked around the next aisle into an alcove where they had a few more air conditioners, back to the original aisle, measured again, walked a bit of a circle around the store to make sure I hadn't missed any of the air conditioners they might've had in other places, then chuckled a bit, scoffed, and then walked out the front door from which I had come. Sitting with a wry smile now because, if anyone knows the big retailer I'm referring to, the greatest annoyance is that one cannot walk 14 steps into that place without two salespeople attaching themselves to you. It was almost insulting to listen to an older gentleman and one of the salesmen, shooting the breeze for about 15 minutes until I had to say excuse me because they were blocking me from traversing the air conditioner aisle. One would think at that point that the salesman would have said, "do you need any help?" Or "someone will be with you in a minute." Folks, I know life and I know business. This place was probably pretty good for an appliance alternative (more small and local than a big box store, yet bigger and more competitive than a mom and pop). But right now, I'd advise whoever Jay is to cut your losses and close up shop. Sad. read more

I have also helped out my family with quick deliveries, like when the washing machine no longer works or the fridge has died. I've done business with Andy for every single purchase & believe it or not, I've never had a problem that couldn't be fixed (almost immediately). My husband & I are seniors now & things are a little harder to do these days. Once again, Andy found a way to take care of a new purchase & installation of an AC unit. When they moved a few doors down from the original store, there was a lot of speculation that the "family" had sold the business. I was SO happy that my guy, Andy, is still working there! I had an AC that was still covered under the manufacturers limited warranty but out of Jay's coverage period and I was having problems filing a claim. The AC hobbled thru its 4th summmer and even though they didn't have to help me Madelyn and her team got me a replacement unit! 4 YEARS LATER! The price was better than anywhere else and the delivery was made within 24 hours. The delivery men were pros - no issues bringing the washer down to the basement and navigating a small doorway. I had been putting off this purchase due to fear of having delivery & installation problems. Machines go in a tiny closet with little wiggle room & through a narrow door. 3 men came & worked their butts off to get the old ones out & the new ones in, including removing a door. The entire transaction was completed with the assistance of a most wonderful and cooperative salesman, Andy , who not only provided a most competitive price but suggested an oven by Frigidaire that I wasn't even contemplating. I am sure glad I followed his advise in choosing a fine made in America appliance. But the purpose of this five star rating did not stop there. When I had an opportunity to first see the installed oven in my daughter's apt one week post delivery and installation, I notice a chip in the black enamel on the top of the stove. Bill, the manager, immediately and most competently addressed the problem..no questions asked beyond just providing him , again over the phone, with the serial number of the appliance, and emailing photos of the blemish. He , without questions, arranged to order a new stove top to be delivered to my daughter's apt at which time he provided further instructions to contact the mfr to replace the blemished stove top with a new stove top under warranty service. I repeatedly had to ask the young man who accompanied the installer to close my front door. He repeatedly left it open. Luckily my dog did not run out. The room was left a mess and they failed to put back anything they moved. They left the empty AC box on my front lawn. Not on the curb or on the side of my house, in the middle of my lawn. After realizing that an iPhone was missing from the nightstand after the installation, and contacting the store, the response was "that's too bad" and that the installers "should never have been left alone". I ordered a suite of 4 appliances. It seemed to go well. I was promised a rebate from Jay's. I was advised by Richard who is the owner that there were 2 rebates. First from Jay's Appliance of $200.00 that I would receive from the driver when they delivered the appliances. The second was from LG for purchasing the 4 appliances. No rebate. I called was told to speak to Bill. He said he had to email it. Sounded strange . Nothing arrived. I called several times no call back. The Invoice states 200.00 rebate from Jay's appliance plus the LG rebate direct from.the company. I will be filing a consumer fraud complaint against the company. The owner is an obnoxious bully and his wife is just cranky. Ordered a refrigerator and upon delivery the driver said it won't fit through the door. No discussion on what might be done he just drives away. The new refrigerator was the same size as the one being replaced and it fit through the door. The driver tells them there is a stairwell with twists and turns which there is not. Get the owner on the phone and he says he has to go by what the driver said. As if the driver is in charge. I suspect the driver was just lazy and didn't want to do any more work than was necessary. Meanwhile I'm without a refrigerator and my food is spoiling. Horrific place. My husband and I just bought a new house and were looking for a dishwasher and stove. He wanted to try Jays but had had a few not great experiences in the past with them but said whatever maybe things got better. Walked in and had a woman salesperson come over to us and told her what we were looking for. We all spoke for a few minutes while browsing other brands of these appliances. She had us keep coming back to one specific stove and kept selling us on it. After trying to walk around and gather my husband and I's thoughts, we were continually followed throughout the store by her even after mentioning numerous times that me and him need to speak and we ll get back to you. We then arrive back over to the original stove the saleswoman talked us into and basically sold us ( price tag saying 1599$) on it. She then continued to say as of tomorrow, the stove would be going up to 2600$. So I said to her its going up 1000$ in one day? That seems insane. She replied with a " yes i know this is how it is now" So again, we had asked to give us some time to chat and think - she could tell she locked us into the sale...Then proceeds to tell us its 2200$. So in the last 30 minutes of being there the price changed? We both said to the sales woman ,I'm not understanding you stood in front of the stove and looked at the price tag and saw this and sold us on it When you knew you were lying about the price all along. she continued to blame it on an error on the price tag meanwhile, stood in front of the stove for about 10 minutes talking about how the price of 1599 was good. My washing machine broke and I went to Home Depot to buy bc a new one but there prices were ridiculous and I couldn't afford them. We've made several purchases at Jay's, and have always had a very good experience. Most recently, it was a bedroom air conditioner to replace the one that died on us. The price was in line or a little better than other stores (online was a bit cheaper... but then there's delivery and installation.) Jay's installation crew called the night before with a 3 hour window the next day, and were right on time. Included in our in-store price was removal of the old unit and installation -- including sealing inside and outside and new trim. That made it a deal to me! Before I continue I have told him we bought from them few years ago for 3 ac units and our Weber grill. We also redid our kitchen and bought all our appliances from Jays. We did not but explained what we needed so he says sorry I'm not selling you anything unless I know the room size and sent us on our way like we were kids. Literally walked away from us! I get what this man is saying but to treat customers this way is unprofessional and low down rude. You claim you were helping us but you were being an arrogant big shot fool! Instead of showing us what we wanted and then explaining it's best to measure the room is a much better way of speaking to your customers. We will never go back to Jays! This "owner" needs to retire or take customer service skills but then again if he is the owner he don't care how he treats customers. Too bad, we were going to also buy another Weber grill as well. We always want our hard earned money to go to smaller businesses but with that kind of attitude I hope you lose more customers. Your store is empty unlike PCRichards...now I Know why. My washer died this past week and after spending the whole day Friday June 25th waiting for a repairman who never showed up, we figured it was time for a new one. Since we were in a time crunch I stopped in on Sat June 26th to Jays showroom. The owner was just finishing up with a customer and I asked him "looking for a LG washer and what is the fastest time we could get it delivered." He pointed to a model and said I can deliver Monday and let me get you a price. I was familiar with the price ranges after looking over various ads for different models and as soon as he mentioned the price I said sold. He said we will call Monday June 28th with a delivery time. Got a call from Jays Monday with a time frame and the washer was delivered by 815am. Cant thank Jays enough for their quick delivery , friendly service and great price. Don't shop here! New owner is a bully that needs a beating, but it would be better NOT TO SHOP!!!! I, like most seek the internet to search for appliances. But upon searching, I was surprised to see so many very bad reviews about Jay's Appliances of Levittown, NY. I went anyway to see, and my usual salesman said he had only 1 refrigerator for my needs left in inventory. On delivery day I was sent the wrong refrigerator, too big, and was promised a phone call within minutes to resolve the issue. 3 hours later NO CALL. I wondered about the purchase and discounts, rebate, and no tax??? It didn't sound good, and we all pay tax. I went back for a refund, got it, but asked about why all the bad reviews? The bully owner said they have no bad reviews, but I came with my iPad to show him. He told me " Only Wimps use the internet! " and called me a Jerk-off for doing so.
