My husband and I stopped here for lunch while on vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our empanadas sitting at the outdoor bar in the beautiful Florida sunshine. I decided to try a rogel for dessert and it was the best thing I have ever had- so much so that my husband went the next morning and got more before we embarked on our cruise. Definitely a must stop if you're in the area!

Some of the best empanadas we've had on this side of Miami. Such a great variety, filled brim to brim, and exquisite homemade fillings as well. We tried the short rib, beef chimichurri, 4 cheese and smoked bacon. The latter was a bit underwhelming, but may have been that it was not warmed hot enough (cheeses not melted). The others, however, were OUTSTANDING! Great seasoning/flavor, but not overboard. The dough is such perfection that it's hard to put into words. Gotta try them. We came here every single day of our trip. Service was mixed - a gentleman at the cash register one morning was really NOT having a good day; however, the other times we had a sweet blonde young woman who was so courteous. Ambiance is casual, but located in a great area of Brickell. Both indoor and outdoor seating is a bit limited, but adequate for small groups of 4 or less. Many people were just ordering takeout when we went. Definitely one of our new favorites in Miami!

Got some to go, take back to Dallas...absolutely delicious!

In love with this place, literally the best empanadas in the World! A cute little shop, tables outside and inside, a vibe inside, with a great playlist. The display of the fresh empanadas, so many choices. It was hard to choose. We asked Vanessa, the cashier, she was so sweet - my favorites, hands down, the sweet corn and the beef chimichurri. Melt in your mouth, savory, flaky, buttery, tiny bit of sweet from the dough. Perfection!

The server was very helpful with allergy related questions, and the food was delicious, out of this world! Gives off bohemian beach vibes, very great atmosphere and would give them more than 5 stars if I could!

I swung by A Family, a Argentinian empanada spot, after a nice long walk with friends! The restaurant features a fast casual dining experience and displays all of their empanadas to help you make your choice! Service was fast and friendly. I was able to get recommendations and it didn't take long to get the items I ordered. I ordered a four cheese empanada and their traditional empanada. I liked both but preferred their traditional one most. I also ordered an iced matcha which was on the pricey side and unfortunately made incorrectly. The matcha was not completely dissolved in the water and I had chunks of powder in the drink. I recommend staying away from the matcha but trying their empanadas!

My sister had this location saved to her Miami list, so when we realized it was directly across from our hotel, we had to come visit. This cafe is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by the friendly staff and the inviting atmosphere that felt like home. The simple decor and the scent of freshly brewed coffee and pastries added to the relaxing ambiance The menu had a nice selection of affordable handcrafted empanadas, medialunas, and other pastries, that were all beautifully displayed as well as freshly brewed coffee, juices, water and soft drinks. The service was impeccable. They were very attentive without being intrusive and even provided us with a slice of carrot cake when our order was delivered to our table. I can't wait until my next trip back to Miami, just to visit again.

A Family advertises itself as some of the best empanadas around town & honestly it certainly does live up to that. Ive had several different empanadas here during my short trip in Miami & was not disappointed with a single flavor (& there are many of them)! One of my favorites definitely was the short rib but I also liked the chimichurri steak one a lot too. All in all, whenever I'm in Miami/certain areas in Florida, I'm 99% sure I'll end up here at least once.

Ordered 5 empanadas to go. Got the cheeseburger, sweet beef, curry chicken, empanada of the month, beef chimichurri. I tried the sweet beef and the cheeseburger empanadas. There were no indicators of which empanada is which so I randomly grabbed two of them. Sweet beef: 4/5 was really juicy and there were raisins inside Cheeseburger: 0/5 was really sour, there was alot of yellow cheese inside. I didn't finish this one. Parking: there weren't any street parking and the parking garage next to the business is like $16 for 1 hour. I called in and they recommended me to park at Brickell City Center. You can park there for free for 20 mins. The walk from the Brickell City Center to the location is like 3-5 mins. If you take longer than 20 mins, it is like $6 for 1 hour. Hygiene: one of the doors to the business was wide open, they had like a door stopper there. When I was checking the empanada displays, I saw a bug in one of them, did not order any empanadas from that display. They also had like a bug fan that was spinning around. After I placed my order, they started replenishing the empanadas on display, so they refilled the empty traditional beef empanadas which I thought were out of stock. Probably won't be coming back here again. Don't really like the Brickell traffic, felt like it's not worth the hassle to get empanadas from here and I'm a little skeptical about the hygiene. There's also a lot of construction around the area.

Nice little spot to grab pastry with good quality and fair prices! It's a little store front with a few tables out front and a counter inside. Wasn't too crowded when we went so we ate in and the smaller space was perfectly fine. Two empanadas + a brownie was around $15. Let me tell you about this brownie though. It had a thick layer of dulce de leche and this delicious torched marshmallowy topping. The texture of the brownie itself was a delight with soft insides and a light crunch to the edges. Drooling thinking about it. Argentinians are the champions of cute little sweet treats and A Family is a case in point. Will be back!

Four Cheese & Smoked Bacon Empanada

Great empanada spot on Brickell. We got the four cheese and smoked bacon empanada as well as the short rib empanada and they were delicious. All of them were less than $5, which for Brickell is not a bad deal, especially with the quality of them. I like the Argentinian empanadas a lot, since the filling tends to be more dense and having a lot more vegetables and funky things as compared to Caribbean empanadas. Good spot !

We wanted to store our luggage in Miami while we explored the city, we found that the closest location to us was in A Family restaurant. Not only did we find a bright, clean place to store our bags, we found THE friendliest staff, delicious empanadas, and youthful, fun vibes. You should stop by.

This bakery was located right next door to our friends' hotel, so they picked some up as a pre-lunch snack before meeting up with us. They have so many flavors and I wish I could have tried them all but sadly we had to save some space for lunch! We got 2 boxes of empanadas and deciphering the flavors was a bit interesting. Each flavor is a different shape and they gave us a legend which shows which shape corresponds to which flavor. Since some of the shapes are similar, we weren't too sure between some of them but not a huge deal. I got the beef chimichurri, spinach & mozzarella, and prosciutto, mushroom & brie and all three were delicious. Overall, the perfect spot to grab some empanadas to snack on!

If you're in Downtown, you have to go to A Family for their empanadas! I ordered a dozen and a half to go for our friends to try out. They heat up the empanadas so they're fresh but it doesn't take too long to get your order. They have sooo many flavors but what stood out to me the most were the Sweet Beef, Beef Chimichurri, Mushroom and Mozzarella, and the Short Rib. I really appreciated that they had a list of flavors with pictures so you can differentiate them in the box. There's only a few seats available inside and a couple of outdoor tables. Thankfully this place was walking distance from our hotel but I only noticed some street parking. If we're ever back in the area, I'd definitely order some more Empanadas from here again!

She thoughtfully addressed every request, from warming up the bread to perfectly toasting it, small details that truly elevated the evening. The appetizers set the tone.. A must-try is the goat cheese cheese cake: creamy, smooth, flavorful, and slightly sweet. If you enjoy a sweet-forward appetizer, this one is a winner. However, if you're leaning more savory, La Tablita is the way to go, juicy blood sausage, meaty and flavorful sausage, and cheese-onion empanadas that are perfectly grilled cheese and wonderfully toasted. Another standout was the grilled octopus with crushed almonds, cooked just right and full of depth. For the entrées, you can't go wrong with the Brazilian-style picanha cooked the Argentine way, rich, juicy, and full of flavor. The classic filet mignon was also very meaty, though I found it slightly mild; pairing it with the sweet potato fries was the best match, they were unexpectedly better than the truffle fries. The desserts also stole the show. The molten dulce de leche lava cake, the crêpe with warm dulce de leche, and the flan were our full dose of dulce de leche. The highlight was the lava cake served warmed, melting the ice cream and bathing the dessert in vanilla lava ice cream. The warm dulce de leche on the crêpe felt like an extra shot of one of my favorite Argentine treats. We wrapped it all up with a warm, foamy cinnamon cappuccino, the perfect digestivo. Pro tip: make sure to order a good Malbec or Cabernet Sauvignon (of course Argentinian wines) to properly accompany the meats. The ambiance is very corporate steakhouse oriented, maybe it is the Brickell vibes. Side note: love the name, Baires, short for Buenos Aires, a very creative acronym.
