A-Flow left it's mark on me... Literally, on my car bumper... On 9-6-2019, Mr. Paul Evans' employee driving his Chevy van, driving south on Valley View at 3:25pm, decided to enter my lane and follow too closely, and upon my stopping for the yellow-then-red light at Lampson, lightly rear-ended my vehicle. At the time, with 1" between our vehicles at rest (after his van lurched forward and made contact with my vehicle), I didn't notice the license plate screw imprint in my bumper. After arriving home, I looked again, and found A-Flow's handiwork on my bumper. Regarding this unfortunate incident, I contacted Mr. Paul Evans at his 714-960-1207 number (the number on the door of the van) at these dates/times: 9/6/19 3:52 PM, 9/9/19 4:18 PM, 9/10/19 2:41 PM, and 9/12/19 3:48 PM. Never a call back. Mr. Evans claimed he never received my messages. Why would Mr. Evans have 714-960-1207 displayed on his van, and an active answering machine at 714-960-1207, if he wasn't looking for business calls at 714-960-1207. Mr. Evans was clearly evading my calls... By calling 714-336-2455 on 9/13/2019, I got in touch with Mr. Paul Evans. Mr. Evans told me he regularly receives "shakedowns" and was doubtful of my claims. I let Mr. Evans know I had rear and front video footage of the incident - he showed zero interest in viewing the footage. Further, by text, he told me, "My guys said no way I'm trying find out what happened or didn't happen how many people were in the van". On 9/24/2019, at the PMB (Private Mail Box) Mr. Evans operates behind, he received a USPS certified letter from me which also contained a CD with the video files of the incident. I asked if his solo driver employee still claims "no way" after viewing this video evidence. No response. In my letter, I let Mr. Evans know I was not desirous of his employee losing his job. I also let Mr. Evans know that other than his employee's "work" on my bumper, no other marks existed - and the resale value of my vehicle has been harmed. No response. On 10/3/2019, I texted Mr. Evans and asked, "Paul - may I get a response from you please? (regarding rear-end incident at about 3:25pm on 9-6-2019, Valley View Street south at Lampson Avenue in Garden Grove)". No response. Still images from my rear-video are included here, as well as the A-Flow "work" on my rear bumper. I could employ the services of the Garden Grove police department, and further escalate this issue - but I choose to not use Garden Grove limited police resources for this small issue. As is mentioned in other 1-star reviews of A-Flow, Mr. Evans proved to me that he does not value honesty, does not stand behind his business, and in summary does not portray that he is a good stand-up guy. I was recommended by my neighbor to hire this company. But the person who handled the job is not reliable. It was not Paul but Guy. He stood up my husband without calling that he is coming. My husband waited for hours and the guy never showed up nor called. We almost hired another company. Finally he called back and apologized. So that was good. We should have hired another company. The timing is always off. He said he is coming at noon and ended up at 4 pm on a Friday. He called that he was coming late but it ways way late. His time management was so poor. So this guy worked on our gutter in the dark. Who does that? We were sitting at home watching TV on a Friday night and he is on our roof walking around in the dark. So of course, the work was not flawless. We could not see any of his work in the dark also after he left. The next day we walked around and found stuff went wrong. The guy chipped the paint of the front beam of our house. He probably put his ladder up on the beam in the dark and ruined it. I can see the sky from a hole between the gutter and the downspout meaning there is a hole that water will go through when it rains. He was supposed to fix these stuff and come Monday morning and didn't show up again. Excuses after excuses. We still have not paid. This is not cheap but being jerked around like this made me want to do this review. Enough is enough. read more

Ugh, it pains us to write negative reviews, but A Flow has left us with little choice. Our initial install was excellent...we love the look of the gutters...we thanked and complimented these guys. But we communicated with A Flow on August 22 (considerately and respectfully) and several times after that date that our backyard flooded during the hurricane and that we just needed them to come out to reroute one of our downspouts (we were literally bailing buckets of water out of our backyard into the harbor). Unfortunately, that video proof and request wasn't enough for A Flow to call us back with a date they could come by. Instead, when calling him, I received only rudeness and pompousness "do you realize I've done about 1600 jobs?". How is that response an answer to my dilemma? I've had several contractors at my house over the last year (we've done a whole house remodel)...most relationships with these guys have been so good, I've ended up hugging them when they've left. I appreciate professionalism and people who care so much and try very hard to let them know how grateful I am. As a customer, I'm confident we'd be rated 5 star. A Flow is unfortunately the anomaly to our experiences. It sucks to feel like we simply DO NOT MATTER. Stay away from these guys if you value follow-up, respect and integrity. Paul Evans and his crew left an hour ago. I could not be more pleased with their work. A Flow Rain Gutters was one of three proposals we received. For approx 200 linear feet we were quoted $1,257.00, $1925.00 and $1,660.00. Not saying you always take the low bid but we went with Paul because: a) he is the on-site manager (not just a sales guy for the job) b) he uses two workers who have been with him 10 years and know their stuff c) he uses American aluminum instead of the Chinese thinner gauge product d) he offers K shape, flat face and round style gutters e) he does the seamless work on-site and f) he takes the customer's concerns into consideration when making recommendation of style, color and location of downspouts. That was not the case with the other two. Paul was here promptly at 9:00 am with his guys. We had several decisions to make during the project including final colors, location of down spouts and how to compensate a less than level roof. Even with all of that they were packed up and leaving by shortly after noon. Highly recommend. read more

Paul installed our gutters in 2013. When we called him back in 2018 for a repair and re-paint he said he was really busy but provided a quote and told us to check back. We weren't in a hurry, so that wasn't a problem. We continued to call him back every month or so in 2019. Each and every time he became more resistant and would always say he was too busy and would call us back in a few weeks. He never called us back and never did the repair. We do not understand what wear and tear a rain drain is taking in 5 years time but we were fully prepared to pay for his work and time (he knew that because he provided a quote at our initial request). Bottom line, we cannot recommend a company that will not stand by their work or repair their product. read more

During a couple heavy rains this year, we noticed that we needed some small tweaks so they would drain properly, for which we were happy to pay. Started leaving messages for Paul in January with no call back. Got frustrated, so called the roofing company and asked them to encourage him to call. He finally called last Friday and said he would be out early this week, but no show. Left several more messages on his phone as well as emails requesting an appointment. A Flow Paul is an artist! Having recently undergone a complete home remodel necessitated by a water leak, my wife & I have had the opportunity to work with over a dozen subcontractors on our project. We experienced the Good, the Bad & the Ugly for over 2 years & were close to exhaustion by the end of this ordeal. Our last step was to replace our aged, chipped & dented rain gutters. On the recommendation of our roofer, I contacted A Flow Rain Gutters & set up a bid/consultation with my General Contractor in attendance. I honestly went in with low expectations- readying myself for astronomical price points on a product that I preassumed to be non-essential. A Flow Paul showed up promptly & floored us. I still can't put my finger on what makes him so special; but he is a singular man. He projects utter competence to such a degree that I unquestioningly followed his every recommendation. He does not come off as a salesman. An earlier reviewer accurately describes him as "kind". He also has a great sense of humor while possessing an unusual sense of gravity. Weird that he can project all this in a short span of time. I was used to haggling & second-guessing others during the bidding process. This gentleman was different. He advised that we upgrade to copper (which I was predisposed against before the meeting) & suggested a style that complemented the architecture of our house. My GC was as impressed as I & urged me to do as Paul said. We shook hands on the spot. GREAT CALL! Paul & his Crew later came & absolutely transformed our house. My wife & I are still stunned every time we pull up in our car at the difference his craft made. It's hard to give this company a bad review because the price was fair and the work was done (initially) reasonably well by nice workers that appeared competent and supervised by Paul, the owner/manager. However, the follow up has been very disappointing. The first rain after the new gutters were installed showed a simple defect in the workmanship. One gutter was not angled properly so that the 40% furthest away from the drain end collected water before the accumulated water was high enough to drain. Obviously, this is not a major problem but stuff that would otherwise have been taken down the drain with the water flow collects instead on the floor of that section of the gutter. I called and left a message ... twice. Never even received a call back or simple acknowledgement. Clearly not what I expected. Bottom line: Check the work before they leave because you probably won't hear from or see anyone again if there's a problem. read more

I did not know and asked if he could come out do the measurement and I could also meet him in person as well. I was cut off by a white chevy van, lic# 84264C1 driven by a Hispanic male. He made a left turn without a turn signal. He flipped me off when I slammed my brakes and honked the horn. I stopped and advised him of his driving and he said I don't care and he drove off. Very bad representation on the company. I tried to call and report the driver and the number goes to a machine that won't take messages. Very unprofessional .This occurred in downtown laguna beach which has a 30mph speed limit. read more

Not only did Paul show up on time, he also gave me a fair price for the rain gutter installation. I picked white seamless rain gutters - the installation work was excellent, and I have no more flooding into my garage - thanks to his expert knowledge and application of two shorty downspouts he added to the garage roofline. He got the job started on time, gave his crew instructions, checked on them to make sure my new paint job was not damaged, and then followed up after they completed the work. I had A-Flow Rain Gutters come to my home and give me an estimate on a new rain gutter system on my 23 year old home. My old gutter system was falling apart and was leaking onto the fascia boards anytime it rained. I found owner Paul to be helpful in explaining what I needed so a new gutter system would work properly during a rainy season. I went with a 6" gutter system which looks so much better on the home. I also went with gutter guards to prevent debris form falling into the gutters. I like the way A-Flow attaches the gutters to my fascia boards. A-Flow uses a screw in bracket, instead of big nails to attached the gutters to the fascia which looks very professional and prevents water from dripping behind the gutter system and causing dry-rot.. The crew that came out to install my new gutter system were very professional, did there job and cleaned up afterwards. I could not have asked for anymore. I would recommend this company to anyone. read more

For example, he noticed that our current rain gutters weren't hung correctly and suggested we install bigger gutters given our roof volume. Paul from A-Flow Raingutters seemed informative and knowledgeable but I should have paid more attention to his cocky edge. He and his two guys arrived on the job and Paul left shortly after. When they finished I noticed that the gutter and downspout colors were reversed. They put a charcoal downspout on the green stucco and a green gutter on the charcoal trim. The guys said they don't question what comes off the truck, they install what's there. Being experienced installers, wouldn't you call your boss if you noticed this color discrepancy? Paul was furious when I said I wasn't paying until the colors were corrected. Paul had reversed the colors on the order but it was MY fault as I confirmed the color choices the day before but not the placement. Had he written the order correctly, there wouldn't have been a problem. He refused to replace them with the correct colors, and insisted that I paint them. I didn't care that he had a master's degree in business from USC. He said if I wrote a yelp review he would put a lien on my house and take me to court - for a $350 job. He called back and said he would change it out but I would have to pay an extra $95 for labor and materials. Paul is an arrogant and hot-headed man. I would never refer him and he said fine, he would never do work for my friends. The customer service at A-Flow needs help.....when something goes wrong, a customer expects a return or a fair adjustment. Paul is the expert gutter man here and should pay attention to detail. When a company makes a mistake, they fix it. I am the customer who expects quality work and friendly customer service and didn't get it from A-Flow. read more

This guy is a huge JOKE!!!!! I have to say that the black rain gutters that he installed on my patio look great, but that is all I can say about this guy and the rest of his work. "what do you mean", you say. Well, he came out and gave me an estimate to put black gutters on a custom wood structure patio we had built as well as two black down spouts. We went black and all smooth sided down sports to match the hardware of our patio. As he was giving me a quote he offered to extend another gutter I had by about a foot and also to replace the grey down spouts with smooth sided ones so everything would match. Now, keep in mind, this down spout comes down my wall makes a turn and runs along the bottom of the wall behind the air conditioner condenser and towards the gates to the front yard. These spouts are all corrugated not smooth!!! When he and his crew showed up, an hour late because he had a problem with a piece of equipment, he was very irritated and was pushing this irritation towards me. He then proceeds to tell me that he was not able to get the down spouts in black with smooth side only corrugated! This was not cool since the job was a month out from the time he quoted it, he told me that he only found out two days prior to the job when he ordered the material. As we discussed this he could tell that I was not happy, he was telling me that I could paint them, I didn't want to have to do this but I would if I had no other option. As i pondered what I was going to do he started to pack up all the materials and put them back in his truck. I asked him why he was doing this, he said he didn't think I wanted to do the job. I told him that if he could give a piece of the black sheet I would go get the spray paint and do it as long as they would put them up. So this is what I did, they turn out great and they put them up for me. however he never offered to discount the quote at all. He proceeded to be irritated and I finally confronted him about it and he seemed to cool down a bit. The next problem started when they installed the grey down spouts on the house, they did not bring enough material to complete the job and I now have tow different grey colors with two different finishes, smooth going into corrugated. He said that they would come back out and finish it. We had text each other for about two weeks after the job but could not get schedules coordinated to complete the job. Then at about 4 weeks I text him again and set up a day for him to come out only to get a text from him the day before the scheduled day saying he was at the house because they were in the area but could not get in because of the dog. REALLY??? why would you do this ???, I told him to come back tomorrow the day scheduled and he said he would not. I then tried numerous times to set up appointments but he would never return text messages or calls. Then I get a call from my neighbor that he came by my house and looked at the gate for a minute then left. I text him and he said it was not him that he was working in Santa Monica, I said "well it must have been another A-FLow Rain Gutter guy". I then tried to set something up again and never responded even though we were just texting. I even offered for him to just drop off the materials and I would do it but nothing. no response, no apology, no discount. This job was done in September and just on Monday December 21st I text him one last time trying to get him to just tell me whether or not he is going to complete the job and he never responded. DO NOT USE THIS JOKER UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED. After my job was completed my neighbor informed me that he used him also about three years ago and nothing but problems with him as well.
