I reviewed Manorhaven Beach Park 3 years ago and this is my update ... it's still fantastic. We have joined every year for the past 4 years . The pool club is amazing , it's like you're at a resort . They have a kiddie section with water buckets and palm trees and two big water slides , the main pool area is huge and so clean, they have plenty of umbrellas and canopy's, as well as lounge chairs . Their food section is great as well, standard beach food like chicken fingers , hot dogs , burgers stuff like that . We love it there . We will continue to sign up every year it's worth it . read more

CLOSED!!! This is a beautiful beach but all Port Washington beaches (including North Hempstead Beach Park) are closed during coronavirus pandemic. My family drove to major beach parks with parking lot in Port Washington last weekend (May 2, 2020) only to find the entrance blocked with CLOSED signs. I wish that they have a website that let people know if it's closed or not, like Sands Point Preserve which is also closed. read more

We recently moved to Port and joined this pool and I have to say we are pleased. I have 2 young kids and this pool is great for them. I can see how older children and adults would complain because when it is busy there are a lot of kids running around but the safety and cleanliness make it great for youngsters and moms. The surrounding area (the actual park) had a couple music shows which were cool and we wished there were more of. The playground near the tennis courts is nice but not enough shady benches to sit. The equipment on the sand needs updating but the view is relaxing and calming. The fields, basketball court and skatepark are great for older kids to hang out and play and if you are a kayaker there is a boat slip and rentals near it. - parking is $15 per car or get the season pass if you live in north Hempstead. read more

Every village should be so lucky to have a park like this available just a short stroll away. I've been coming here since before I can remember. Always known to me as "Grandma's Beach," Manorhaven Park was the site of some of my best summers growing up. This park has an absolutely massive swimming pool and dive area that backs up to a community beach on Manhasset Bay. It also has large basketball and handball court area. The pool was the site of a few summer romances and the courts were the place a young kid learned to play the game with men twice my age and size. A humbling education that served me well over time. The park also has a boat ramp, softball field, concession stand, running loop, and pavilions for functions. It's a great place for the community, and I visit whenever possible. read more

Just a great place in the heart of Manorhaven. The park sold us on Port. It is excellent, the pool is the centerpiece of a series of recreational areas. Fields, BBQ areas, skate park, swings, beach, boat launch, kayak rentals, track are all features of this great park. As for the pool, it is great on a warm summer day. Exceptionally clean and a fun safe place to hang. Great areas for babies and little kids as well as the whole family, lap lanes and two fun slides. Residents get great rates for season memberships but for the right price anyone can enter with a day pass. Check out the website for hours and current rates. Haven't tried the snackbar but the fries smell good when you walk by. read more

It is a great little park with a huge pool that has two water slides and a kiddie pool! It is really fun and is a must go to for any kids and even parents. Everyone there is super nice and helpful. The pool also has 5 lap lanes that are nice and deep. The pool is pretty clean and very well monitored, has lots of room with lounge chairs! Highly recommend read more

The water park is great. It's ideal for kids of all ages. The only downside I see with water parks/aquatic centers in the town of Hempstead is that they don't allow kids to wear life vests or floaties. Apparently it's safer for children who don't know how to swim properly to NOT wear floaties than wearing them. Makes a lot of sense right?!?! Stupidity at its finest. I no longer go to these water parks/aquatic centers bc of this stupid rule. Why should I pay you to use your facility when it can possibly end up with my kid drowning? No thanks. Save your money people. Go where they allow your kids to wear floaties. Their reasoning is retarded. read more

This is a beautiful scenic park that I enjoy visiting. It is in a great location in Port Washington. I have come to this park with my kids. The best part of the park is the dock leading out to the water. There is no better place to take in the view. read more

We were there yesterday, the pool is lovely, and there is a lovely baby splash pad though it's kinda deep for them right in front of the lifeguards. The lifeguards were not alert In our area yesterday. They were sitting together talking! Not great training, watch your kids closely. read more

A really nice park! There are two playgrounds, a skate park, picnic areas, tennis courts, etc. The pool looks AWESOME! The Town of North Hempstead bragged about the pool in a newsletter earlier this year and it's definitely something I'd like to try next summer. read more

I lived in Port Washington 15 years......use Manorhaven pool so many times over the years with friends, family, my kids friends..... I always have something on mine to say, like the bathroom are descasting, the snack bar it's gross, sometimes you paid and there is an incident and, they have to close the pool, etc..... But, today was they really got me to write a review..... I get there bring two guest with me and, my son......I go there often, not because it's my favorite place....its because my son loves the water and it's close to home......but I have to say it, to get in there lately it's a pain. It's like you checking in the airport. They ask for ID, to every single person it's with you that way they make sure the can get more money out of you packet, you only allowed two gueststs and God forbid if one of you guests forget their ID.....And if you ask for the manager to see if he can help in this matter, don't even bother, he will come out half sleep....to say, I can do anything. So, it's so sad to say that The nice town I choose to live has changed so much or maybe they are in such need of money that ......They don't even care that there is a kid waiting to get into the water, and we have to go back home!!......... To that manager today, let me remind you that the salary that you get and, the park where you work it's posible to the taxes that the residents of Port Washington pay...... and, believe me it's not cheap!! read more

First, this pool is amazing. Very scenic, super clean, and lots of fun. I have been a member since I moved into this town about 4 years ago BUT almost every time I have come to the pool there's been a problem. Either not enough lifeguards so the kiddie pool closes and the slides are closed as well or the lifeguards start yelling at the parents and what's worse, at the kids, because they have a few toys in the big pool (and this is because they close the kiddie pool for lack of lifeguards). Today, 6/20/16, the pool was closed because of an "accident." Obviously a good reason. Then only the kiddie pool opens, which is great, until they decide to close the kiddie pool and move everyone to the big pool BUT they don't let anyone in the water. I'm sure there's a good reason for making people wait to go into the water but why not keep the kiddie pool open until then? And then after waiting about 40 minutes, they only open the part that's over 1 foot deep. So here I am stuck with a weeping toddler and an infant because I can't take my 3 year old because he's obviously too small to go into the deep part of the pool. It's really disappointing to not know what to expect every time we go to the pool. Last year my friends came with their kids and paid to get in with me. 10 minutes in and the slides close. 10 minutes more and the kiddie pool closes. All because there are no lifeguards. I rather pay more for a membership than not be able to enjoy the pool because there isn't enough staff. Now the staff is also another problem. There are a few very nice and helpful ladies in the office. But most of the lifeguards, who are young kids, have absolutely no respect for anyone. They scream at people, are very rude, and what really upsets me is that they do this in front do their children. My son got upset today because one of the girls screamed at me to get out of the pool when no one had said we were not allowed to go in. This is terrible and unacceptable. This pool has amazing potential if they do something about the way it's managed and actually hire respectful responsible staff. read more

Love the park - it's needs to be cleaned the beach is so gross see a bunch of town workers doing I don't know what sometimes just riding around in their carts, the rainbow park needs to be shaded in the hot months it's like a frying pan I got burnt and my kids it's dangerous and. Not enjoyable - as far as the pool , that man Kevin I think who runs it needs to be tossed out he's so lax and just not nice closing the section of the pool for 3 weeks and not to mention the palm trees weren't even fixed after they broke , I paid 340 I think to be a member and it's like ok sure we'll take your money but we do what we want. Not many people like that guy he's needs a new job, the snack bar is gross over priced and a joke. How about real food but we have no other choice but to deal with it , maybe someone who can do something will read this . read more

beautiful renovation to the pool areas and feilds.however (new pool is shallowish}? as a local ,in my opinion they should have renovated the cross walks at all entrances and exits before the reopening this spring. they have yet to correct them and dangerous road no one stops as familys and kids cross.as well as a liability to the town? the boat ramp I use and needs work,usable at higher tide only. less outdoor stage shows than other parks this year not sure why, beautiful place all around should be utilized a true hiden gem read more

This pool was closed for 3 days this week because of kids poop. I used to love the old pool and somehow this was never a problem. Now the pool has to close often and I doubt the one pool filter can handle it. I will not be swimming in crap! read more
