so had the sod delivered to Bakersfield today. delivery time 0930-1130. they dropped off pallets on the street and never notified it was there. anyone could have stolen it. second the celebration Bermuda has tons of crab grass. never seen sod look like the crab grass we just removed. color is fair. we will see in a month what it looks like and my Gardner can do something with the pile of weeds. not exactly thrilled. read more

Alberto from A-G Sod Farms was operating a forklift at 6am in our neighborhood. We let him know that the Fresno city noise ordinance says that heavy machinery should not be used in residential areas until 7am. He was rude and refused to stop. It's unfortunate when businesses refuse to follow the laws or respect the communities they are operating in. read more

REVISION 9/29/18 It's been about 7 weeks since my last review and wanted to update my review. The grass is really nice but it came with many weeds over the entire lawn. So, if you order from AGsod in Selma, beware. I didnt expect to have this many weeds with a new lawn, they have completely taken over. The sod was cut really shirt when it was delivered so I couldn't see the weeds until it started growing, which I noticed within the first week. It needs weedkiller desperately but the sod is too new so I can't treat yet. I called and expressed my concern and was told that I would receive a call back. Its been over a week and I have no heard anything. This sod was more affordable than other sod farms, but had I known it came with this many weeds I would have paid more for a better quality sod. I ordered 560 sqft of celebration bermuda. I only needed 520 but you can only order in 80 ft quantities, so it was either 480sqft, or 520sqft. Im glad I got extra because I needed it. I had a simple square layout but there were more cuts than i anticipated, so ordering at least 10% is a good idea. I was a little leery of ordering from A-G sod because I read a few bad reviews, but I also read some good ones so I decided to give them a try. So far, I'm happy with the product. Im nktban expert with soda, but the rolls may have not had enough topsoil on them. Ill update in a month or so to show the progress, (good or bad). My only problem was that I was expecting my delivery at 5am Saturday morning and when it didn't arrive by 7:30am I called in and was told the grass didn't get cut for my order. Denise in the office called me back 20 min later and said they would cut the grass that morning and have it to me by 11am, which they did. They were a little late, but the fresh cut grass arrived. If it werent triple digit heat, I wouldnt have in all, the grass looks good. I live in Clovis, and the grass arrived Aug 18th so its hot out. I was told that its ok to lay sod this this time of year, you just need to keep the sod consistently moist, but not soggy. will post update pics next month. read more

*BEWARE VERY EARLY DELIVERY* Ordered Elite Plus Fescue about a week in advance and was sent email receipt that said I would get another email close to delivery date with delivery time. The day before delivery, I did not receive an email and missed the business hours to call and ask but I figured I would call as soon as they open the day of expected delivery to ask about delivery time. At 2am the day of delivery, we get woken up by a loud noise and realized they are delivering the sod. This was not expected and I felt bad for our neighbors who may have woken up by the noise as well. If I had known this, I would have called to request a later time. read more

Very unhappy customer after laying our sod week and half we started to see Unusual spurts of large grass growing we were told by a professional Landscaper it was "Nut Grass" and only way to remove it would be using a product called sledgehammer. This process will take a few times before we can get rid of it. Also we are forced to spend more money $$$ out of pocket fi product & professional services. This company delivered Sod to my neighbor at 1:45 am. About 12 pallets were off-loaded using a very noisy fork-lift with flood light blaring and flashing back and forth in my bedroom window. I went out to approach the driver to talk. He didnt even stop. Just yelled at me if he could get around me as I guess I was blocking his next load. Very rude and inconsiderate company. This review comes a little late but definitely needs to be written. Around 2 months ago I started looking for sod for my back yard. All of the sod suppliers had mixed reviews but I finally decided to go with A-G sod of Selma and Bakersfield. From delivery, price, and quality of the sod they were excellent. Beware is right! They told my sod was young and fragile and also they would deliver between 3 and 4 but no they delivered way before 2:45 a m. I was ready to give they direction as to where we wanted this fragile sod place their description not mine but they made no contact and just drop off at curb. Paid lots $$$$ for jerk unprofessional services wait no services. I should of slept on the curb had I know their delivery window meant nothing I might of. read more

Horrible customer service. I ordered my sod over a week in advance. told the gal I needed it 1st thing in the morning. "sure, you're the only delivery scheduled for that day. Ill make a note" sounds great. Called back few days later because I never got my emailed receipt. spoke to LIZ, told me is was sent and never offered to resend it or anything and hung up on me. Called again, tried to speak to someone else. never called me with delivery time, I had to call them. she told me 10-1. I asked to talk to a manager who was unavailable. delivery was at 10 and the product looks OK. has some yellow areas in it and its been about 2 weeks and has been taking to the top soil so far. read more

Save your money and time. These guys dropped 8 pallets in front of the WRONG house. $2000.00 and they don't show up on time or wait to make contact with customer. It will be 100 plus weather outside today. Coming early and not at the time they said, is not helping anyone. In fact it's stupid to set up a time and not stick to it. Sould not be early and at the wrong house. No number for after hours help. Just have to be screwed till they open. Second time ordering from A-G. I find their Elite Plus is really easy to get established even for a novice like myself. Just follow the directions on the website. One thing I did for both orders was to put down 4-5" of clean topsoil mixed with a compost/mulch starter. The folks who are having weed problems most likely started with bad topsoil. When I called to ask a bunch of questions, both ladies in the office were helpful and patient with me. The delivery was on time and the sod looked really fresh. read more

AG Sod provided the turf for my yard renovation. A portion became infected with fungus. After determining that treating those areas was not going to bring back the lawn A-G Sod worked with me to replace the infected areas at no charge. We bought nearly 3000 square feet of sod last week from A-G Sod Farm on the recommendation of a landscaper. It was less expensive than the local sod farm, and they worked with us on delivery time. The sod arrived while we slept and was ready for installation first thing in the morning. The sod itself was a nice, manageable mat of roots and soil that laid out beautifully. The grass looks as good as my front yard, which we get compliments on frequently. I would encourage anyone who is considering sod or seed to give these guys a call. I am so pleased with my beautiful landscaping and the sod just finished it off perfectly. Also, it's a bit less expensive to buy online than over the phone. Excellent service! read more

Don't t buy here. I ordered Bermuda grass in the spring. It was over seeded with rye so looked beautiful. As soon as it started getting hot enough for the Bermuda to show, it wAs very sparse and patchy. It has goat head seeds all over it. My dog won't walk on it. Each time she comes in with goat heads in her paws. When I called to tell them, they said I didn't take care of it and let weeds grow. I explained that there were no weeds in it, just the pokey seeds all over from their field they planted in. It was only a couple months old. (There were no weeds growing in it) The next time I called to get some help with it, he blamed it on my gardener. He told me that gardeners were the worst thing I could do for my lawn. I explained that my gardener hadn't started working on it yet. He paused and then said that that was good. The last time I called, he told me that I had starved my grass. I have done all the watering and chemicals they told me to use. It is now a year later and my grass still looks bad and patchy. I'm frustrated that every time I called for help, he blamed it on us. I feel we wasted $1200. I'm a very positive person and like to work with a business to find a resolution. I tried for a year. This one left me hanging. read more

I been trying to order some SOD my Gardner went in a preorder . The lady who answers the phone one answers likes she's asleep , says ummmm a whole lot , explain to what my Gardner did and they called me to order but I wasn't near my wallet to order I was working . So when I call back the lady is I don't know what your talking about I explained again she just laughed . I called on a Monday at 12 she said to call back before 1 so can get delivered next day so I called at 1230 and she says too late have too call by 12 and laughed . The worse person I ever had to deal with I wonder how many customers this place is losing just because of her rudeness , and not so smart I must say . I gave one star for the following reason. My gardener purchased a bag of 90% Tall Fescue from AG farms. Spent lots of money and effort removing the old sod and applying the 90% fescue from AG farms during 2015 spring. Then the winter starts and 90% of the grass died. Whatever they sold me, made my grass look like crap and makes my property look terrible. Thanks AG farms!! Beware, never trust the people who work there. Called and order 600sqft of sods was told by Sara (the person who help over the phone) based on the measurement I will need 1300 sqft she even comfirmed with someone in the office regarding the calculation. Change my order to 1300sqft when sods arrive have double the amount needed. Called back and was told no refund and was blame. Was told no supervisor or manager, spoke with sales rep Bruce he just argue back would not listen to the problem. Worst customer service ever had. read more
