First, don't assume people don't know what you're saying. I mentioned that my last nail job here was "not great". That's all I said. I was treated with aggression after this. I would have left if the tech had not already started sanding off my polish. I knew the last tech, who was a sweet older gentleman, was not doing a great job, but he was not rude or offensive. I rather enjoyed speaking with him. I understand that Asian people get a lot of grief. My best friend is from China and of Vietnamese decent. I truly feel bad that this tech has likely been mistreated by the locals, but not everyone is ignorant. Here is some objective clarity. First time here, not rude, beautiful job. Can I give them "0" stars? What a terrible establishment! My 6 year old daughter and I went here last night because I was given a gift card. The staff was extremely rude and my Mani/Pedi would have looked better if my 6 year old had done it. We had an appointment at 5:45, and it took 2.5 hours for a Mani/Pedi for me and simply polish for my daughter. My nailbeds are SO red and sore today from the cuticle clipping and all the shellac that is stuck under my fingers. I called the St. Clair Shores location to speak to a manager and they directed me to the GP location, who told me to call the St. Clair Shores location back. Actually 0 stars if that was an option. I scheduled an appointment and they argued with me for 10 minutes that i must have scheduled an appointment at their other salon. When making the appointment i specifically asked their address. I consider myself a very patient person but they made up wait an additional 40 minutes to even get a seat in the empty pedi room. THEN the workers blatantly were making fun and being rude to my mother and I. They also did a crappy job on my pedi and rushed me out of there. There was no apology or compensation for any part of the appointment. Hands down- WORST NAIL SALON i have ever been to. You couldn't even pay me to go back. read more

I went into this salon for a pedicure. The manicurist upsold me a dipz manicure. I had had this done before by another salon and it was quite a nice manicure. My nails were long and in good shape. This person applied goopy and lumpy mixture to my nails by brush. It was a horrible job that had to be removed and redone the following day. In addition, she ground my nails so low that my fingertips still hurt 4 days later, She also nicked several of my cuticles with her dremel tool. The pedicure I received was mediocre at best. There are places where my nails were completely missed with polish and I have several ingrown nails that I had to dig out myself. I would not recommend this place. It seems speed is valued over quality. I would avoid all AJ Nail salons at this point. read more

What a crappy salon. The nail techs are lazy and do a poor job. The one with the headset on is the worst. She wasn't speaking English to the others and has her voice raised like she's not happy. My DIL was nipped twice during her pedi. The application of the color was shoddy. My shellac mani was wavy. Don't know how that happened...my nails aren't wavy! It's good, or better than average I would say. The person who did my nail was kind and meticulously removed all cuticles. Also I like the way my nails cut. I did shellac which needs multiple layers with uv light. Think here has the longest course, and I like it. They seem to know how to do it right. I'll go again next time, maybe I'll be a regular. Cons, Inside of the shop isn't that spacey, and they the tables are too close, so I felt like I'm getting the powders of filed fingernail from a customer next to me. But in fact, there're small fans in each table and i don't think it really happens. read more

This was my 1st and last time at this salon! Rudest place I have ever been! I asked her to file down where my nail was still jagged and she said "it's fine". And then when she started to paint my nails the shellac was so sticky and gooey she could barely get it on my nail. Instead of saying I'm sorry this color isn't going to work, she proceeds to paint them and say "no, no it's fine"! $40 later and my nails are all already smudged! I visited this place about 3 times and I wasn't satisfied in any of my visits. Most of their staff are rude and unprofessional. It wouldn't harm if they smile at their customers a little bit. I hated when they gossip in Chinese and I feel they are talking about me. They only accept cash tips which makes it inconvenient. I used to make my eyebrows there, the tech spent 3 minutes only to do my eyebrows. She waxed my eyebrows then rub it with a dry towel!! I got a burn in my upper eye lid and my skin stayed red for 2 days !! Also, my last service was manicure and the guy wasn't gentle at all, he ripped the skin around my nail which made it hard for me to shower my hair or even wear my clothes. Terrible experience went in for a fill and polish it cost 22 for a fill and they were trying to charge me 27 more dollars for a polish so I'm like ok whatever that expensive but I'm here show me what u got for that kind of money!! She didn't even clean my sides and underneath but was doing a clear French tip seriously you'll see all that!! I won't go there again for what there asking you can get anywhere else for almost half the price anywhere else!! First time at this nail salon and I must say that I was very disappointed. I've been to several different salons and this is by far the worst one. The front desk lady did my nails and she was very rude. I asked her the price for a full set and it was $20 above the price it said on the list that was on the wall. I told her how I wanted my nails shaped and she didn't even come close to shaping them the way I wanted and when I asked her to fix them she got snippy with me. My nail length is not consistent with my other hand and I was very disappointed. While my nails were drying she didn't bother to say goodbye or thank you to me, she just left to the back room and never came back. I went in to get my dip manicure (only on 4 fingers) removed and a manicure. I'm aware of the charge to soak off the dip. The manicurist decided to use a paint palette knife to lift the dip off without soaking it at all. It was uncomfortable to say the least. The staff was EXTREMELY rude, I needed one acrylic nail placed and the older, rounder looking woman there was so incredibly rude. She pointed to the ground demanding something to me, which I had no idea what she was talking about until I finally realized she was rudely asking me to "pay". Next, I get my eyebrows waxed because my bill was too low to use my card, get stuck with a different woman and she blatantly asks me, "what's wrong with you face?", I've never had an employee be so rude. I then had to go next door to Rite Aid for cashback for the tip money, (though they did not even deserve one, still kicking myself for tipping), and another woman opened the door, grabbed the money from my hand, then slammed the door on my face. This place is deceiving. Looks clean and organized at first glance but DON'T get a pedicure- especially if they are busy in the back room. Worst experience ever. They will rush you through, embarrass you for not keeping better care of nails, pressure you and discuss what you will tip them and skill level is subpar. The exfoliation on my heals left a lot of dead skin behind and the polish did not last even a week. There was little is any leg massage. Disappointed with the treatment I received here today. I signed in, chose my color and sat to wait. There were 4 attendants, 4 customers. I was a walk in so expected a short wait. (Sign says walk ins welcome) Not one person acknowledged me. Not one word. After 15 minutes, another customer came in. She walked directly to a chair, sat down and was welcomed. Needless to say, I walked out. Rude treatment that I can't take personally as they don't know me! Best part of this? I found another nail salon that was just the opposite! i never have terrible experiences to where i have to warn others about a business but i feel as if i need to. this has been the worst nail salon i have ever been to. they over cut my toenails way too short than i normally get them...i went with the color white & it was so messy. they blamed it because of the color i chose. i was highly disappointed with the way it looked. they then made me feel forced to get a full set after i said i didn't like the way they did my feet. they're very expensive & it took 3 hours for a pedicure & a full set. although the service seemed fairly nice, they just did not meet my expectations at all read more

Wow this place is ridiculous. They quote you one price, then when it's time to pay they tell you another and say that they did all this "extra" stuff for you during your service. "Extra" stuff no different from the usual service I receive. It's very difficult to understand and communicate with them, thus very difficult to try to discuss pricing with them and question where they got an extra $20 charge from. Not only that, but after they tried to rip us off I noticed the poor young girl next to us counting her change they had given her back and noticing that they had "accidently" shorted her $10 from her change. An accident that was quickly corrected after I noticed the owner watching her to see if she'd catch the mistake, and then jumping into action while she was noticing aloud that her change was wrong.
