I went in for a full set for my wedding day. I asked for white ombré and showed a pretty basic photo that I've seen tons of people get done. It was totally botched (see photo) and when I commented on my concerns, I was brushed off. My pedicure was also awful. The water was cold and the polish wasn't even covering my entire toe. For $110, I expect something more than this. I had to go to another salon and pay $65 for a whole new set the next day in full panic mode because I had to go to the hotel for my wedding that day! I was so excited to go to get a pedicure. I'm a busy mom of 3 and haven't done anything for myself in a long time. When I got there my massage chair would not turn on and the staff didn't offer any help and just shrugged when I mentioned it. I recalled the time before it not working as well. But I could put that aside for an hour of relaxation. Well, 24 hours after my pedicure I have terrible itching and blistering between my toes. I'm on my feet all day at work and the pain and discomfort is unbearable and I've been near tears all day. I'll most likely be on my way to urgent care as it's getting worse now 48 hours later. This salon is a nice size, it's clean, the nail technicians are always nice and polite, and they do a good job in my opinion. I've been to a few different nail technicians, but I have been going to Mimi for the last two years now, and she does a great job. From manicures, acrylic fill-ins, shellac, and to pedicures. She does it all. I will be moving soon; so I'm not happy about finding a new nail tech in the area that I'm moving. But I would definitely suggest trying this nail salon. read more

I have been coming to this nail salon for the past year with fairly decent success all around until today. I decided to drop in at the last minute to see if I could get a manicure. I've seen this gentleman who was at the front & before he's always been fairly friendly until today he looked overwhelmed and frustrated and had a scowl on his face when he told me that he could fit me in but it would be well over a half an hour. I initially said that would be fine. He looked irritated that I was even agreeing to it and said OK as long as YOU REALIZE it's going to be well over a half an hour" and I said well how long do you think it's gonna be and he started to point out all the customers he had And how busy they were at which point I realized he didn't really want my business at all so I said that's OK I'll go somewhere different. when I got in my car I decided to call and tell him that I thought it was poor business behavior to be scowling at people, and seem irritated he told me I was rude. I'm so confused I walked in the door I asked for a manicure. I initially agreed to the time and he continued be negative. On the phone he told me "lady you can go to hell"!!!! What horrific language & unprofessional business behavior. Nail places are a dime a dozen... What goes around comes around... He should have apologized & made it right...everyone has bad days. But taking it out on your own customers really just shows a lack of character. I'm pretty sure "I'm" NOT the one going to hell... I don't think I've ever left a negative review for any company before but I feel compelled to share my experience with Maila Nails. I came here for a pedicure a few months ago and it was the best I've ever had. I was looking forward to returning but my second experience was not positive. The pedicure was fine but during the manicure the technician cut me in a couple places and my cuticles were sore and peeling for a week afterward. I thought I'd give them one more shot (maybe it was an inexperienced tech ‍). I called and made an appointment for 5:45pm today. I arrived about 5:40, waited 25 minutes, then asked how much longer. I was told it would be another 15-20 minutes. After waiting 40 minutes I was finally sat in a pedicure chair. I sat there another 20 minutes without anyone coming or updating me. Finally a woman said, "how about you?" to me, I explained that I had been waiting almost an hour. She said, "Next time tell us you can't wait." I was shocked. I understand they're short staffed but I feel like they shouldn't have taken my appointment then. And if they knew it was going to be an hour wait they could have told me that when I arrived and I could have decided to come back in an hour or go somewhere else. When they continued to ignore me, without explanation or apology, I finally just walked out. Clearly they don't need my business. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. They totally destroyed my real nails and then when I tried to tell them they wanted to charge $50 to fix it!! Filed my natural nails to the point they were bending and breaking and tried to blame my nails. I've been getting shellac on my natural nails and have had long nails for years with NO problems. I'm absolutely disgusted they don't stand by the quality of their work or their customers being satisfied. Nails so flimsy it broke within a couple hours. Do not go here! read more

The first time I went the service was awful and very rude and there always in a rush to get done and you never ever get quality nails, especially if your black, there always in a rush to get you out while they kiss the white girls asses. Another time i went there I had to use the bathroom In the middle of a set and she told me if I messed up my nails she would not fix them even though I'm paying my money for it lol. I got a shellac manicure on Saturday before leaving on a family vacation, I am reviewing on Monday (2 days later) and the shellac is falling off and tearing off of my nails! I haven't done anything out of the ordinary for the polish to be coming off. The experience itself wasn't horrible but for this to be happening already is utterly unacceptable. The reason for 2 stars is because I paid $53 for the nails (mani & pedi) and I'm probably going to have to pay more while on my vacation to get them fixed!! My first time here was okay, the guy doing my nails cut my cuticle but the manicure was fine. Just had the same guy but figured the first time he cut my cuticle could've been a mistake. Nope. He just cut both my cuticles (see pic) and I said ouch twice and all he said was "it's just a little cut. It can't hurt that much." Also, I asked for French tips and I didn't like the shape and asked if he could try reshaping them, he dabbed a little bit of alcohol on a couple of my nails. I told him I didn't like how it was reshaped and told him to just take it off. He asked me if I wanted color which I replied I didn't because I don't. I got up to leave, was charged $20 for my nails. I spoke to another guy and he said you don't like how he styles his nails so I'm sorry. And I asked why someone else couldn't do them or why I'm charged for my nails that weren't even done. I have been procrastinating for an epic amount of time so I finally forced myself to go get a pedicure. Unable to get into my favorite place, I popped into Maila because it's close to my house. I will say that my toes look great... but I can't say the process was flawless. First impression - I appreciated the fact that it didn't smell like acrylic, though the door was open so that might have helped. The decor was nice, I was greeted immediately and went right to a chair - props for no wait. I know my poor feet we're in great shape, but you can imagine my mild fear when the woman pulled out what probably could classify as a cheese grater. I stopped going to another place earlier because I wasn't comfortable with the near-razor that they were trying to use on my foot... needless to say, the cheese grater didn't make me happy or comfortable. It was actually quite painful.... And moreso, there were two or three occasions when I looked down expecting my cuticles to be bleeding. Thankfully, there was no blood. Add that to the three phone calls that the girl took during my pedicure... I don't think I'll be a regular. read more

Went there today for a mani/pedi for me and for my 5 year old daughter. I also bought my 2 year old son since today is the only day of mama's free day. They were nice to my kids and service was great. Chris was awesome! One of the techs (who is not even taking care of us) gave my son a toy when he started crying. The nail technicians at Maila Nails are fantastic!! I have been getting my nails done for 20 years and have been to many nail places in the area and Maila Nails is the best! The owner makes sure the establishment is clean. There are brand new nail stations and pedi chairs. All tools are sanitized and pedicure chairs have disposable liners. This is very important to me, knowing I am getting my nails done in a clean place. In addition, the technicians take their time filing to make sure nails are nice and smooth. Been here about 5 times. First time was fantastic. All other times there was just something that really bothered me. They rush. Different prices each time if you go to different techs. They constantly are talking in another language and sometimes you really feel as if they are talking about YOU!! They are very opinionated and if they suggest something, even if you say no, they will keep trying to convince you! The time before last she wanted to give me shellac but I wanted regular acrylic, I'm convinced that she didn't put the acrylic all the way up to my cuticles, so that I would come back sooner to get them filled. My nails looked a week old on the second day. This time I was convinced to take my acrylics off and to just get a manicure. I was told that my nails would look pretty and smooth after and it was good to let them breathe. Well my acrylics were taken off painfully,not soaked off but literally ripped off with a cuticle cutter! Each nail I cringed and wished for the best. About 4 of my fingers wouldn't stop bleeding and my nail bed was punctured. And in the end- they look like crap! Once again, they look a week old and it hasn't even been 24 hours. Will never ever again go back or recommend this place to anyone! Shame on them read more
