The clerk was very nice, offering a receipt and small bag and even though I didn't need either it was nice to be asked. I came upon this little gem the morning before Hurricane Mathew arrived in New Smyrna Beach after stopping at just about every store within a 5 mile radius of my home with no luck finding ice, as fate would have it a contractor over heard my request at another convenient store. He stated the owners of Outpost Majestic had planned ahead and had ordered extra bags of ice to ensure his customers were taken care of, even though the extra stock was running out the door he did allow me to purchase 8 - 10 lb. bags at the everyday price (no gouging) now I would of probably gladly paid three times the normal price as would have many other but it wasn't necessary that's how neighbors help neighbors.

Then, as I go to check out, some folks walk up behind me that he either knows or likes more. He laughingly tells them that the alcohol noobs are out in force. I didn't hear their reply, but he elaborates that the non-drinking idiots always come out during the holidays. If my card weren't already in the machine, I would have left. I looked at him and told him this non-drinking idiot was still spending money in his store. I may not drink, but I know a whole lot of people who do, and I will be letting them all know to avoid this store.

I stopped in to fuel up the F-150 and the fuel island shows off the pride the ownership has for this business everything was clean and well maintained. I love that the pumps run parallel to the store front and the bonus is that they sell diesel - I'm thinking this is the perfect set-up to fuel the MotorCoach, the property is somewhat limiting but the turnout is more than sufficient to accommodate the bus (still haven't named her yet). The fuel prices are competitive and by the flow of customers in and out during my brief visit I know there's something special about this place. It appears to be the perfect location for most of the patrons to grab that 12 pack and a pack of smokes and maybe some lottery tickets and of course a few bucks of gas. Based on the outward appearance and the easy access and exit onto Route 44 this may be a place I frequent, after all I always go for personality over the popularity of the brands where no body knows your name...
