I have met with John TWICE regarding finding a new job. The first time was back in 2013 and he said he was happy to meet me and would have lot of jobs to send me out on. He kept promising he'd get me in the door with a few companies in particular. Not one interview (and I had, at that point, a decent resume). Fast forward to my job hunt this spring. Again, I re-connected with him to see if this time he could get me in the door with a few of the companies that were mentioned in 2013. He remarked that he was glad that I came in to see him again so that he could make sure I still look like my picture and didn't get fat or anything. Yes... he did. Anyway, he again was so happy I walked in the door and would have me "placed by the end of the month." Not one interview and this time, my resume was solid and was getting me in the door to a LOT of great companies through other recruiters. If you want to make him one of several recruiters you contact, then maybe you'll have better luck, but I wouldn't count on him as your only recruiter. That Director spoke before Congress and the Senate, and was the subject of articles in the New York Times and Washington Post. The day it happened, I packed up my things and left. I have been working with John for several years now. I not only consider him a great recruiter but also a friend. He is honest, and has your best interest in mind while trying to find the best placement for your career. He doe not sugar coat anything, and is honest when it comes to letting you know if he has anything of a fit or not. Single man operation in "rent an office" space. John is desperate to make a commission - at any cost. Does not represent candidates well to companies, instead of providing an inquiry answer- he simply suggests other candidates to the company. HR person goes back to him w/ simple inquiry - "do you know where this candidate went to school?" or "is candidate X working right now?" His solution "Let me recommend Sarah or Jane or Rebecca". Utilizes the "frantic squirrel placement method". Does not keep good records of where he has previously sent you. Often does not get feedback - simply "oh - that position was filled". Finally - misrepresents job salary. During final placement process - "oh salary is really $55k not $60k. Avoid. read more

First I'd like to say that John Warren from A-List Associates did not find me a job.With that being said, the dedication and care that he showed by far surpassed all the other agencies I went to. He is extremely personable and we sat and talked for over an hour. He sent me on an interview for a position which I did not get but that had mostly to do with my lack of experience rather than me failing the interview. He explained to me why I wasn't hired. Most of the other places I went to did nothing but give me empty promises. They made me feel like I had a chance at an interview but when it came time to actually back up their promises they were nowhere to be found. But John actually helped. He actually did something and though it wasn't successful, the way in which he did it showed his professionalism and care and perhaps if you have more experience in the field in which you are looking (since I was actually changing careers) then maybe he can help you land a job. But either way, he was very kind throughout the whole process. read more
