Daisy Jimenez was such a delight to deal with. It was evident from the minute she coordinated the interview with me, and during the actual interview itself, that she's been doing this for a long time, and I've never felt so at ease while applying for a job. While she was the epitome of professional, I really felt as if I was talking to an old friend that I haven't seen as a while and not someone who was reviewing my resume to see if I was a fit for their available positions. Greg Bernhardt, who is one of the partners of the firm, met with me after my initial interview with Daisy, and he was equally as professional and personable. Once we had finished speaking with one another, he promptly made his way over to his desk, and started making phone calls on my behalf. Half an hour after I left their office, I had a request for a zoom interview for this upcoming Friday. Last but not least, Babien Avila, had such a fantastic energy about her, and although she didn't interview me, she kept checking on me while I was waiting to be seen and after I told her I was hungry, she went out of her way to get me some food as well as a much needed cup of coffee. While I was there, it was very clear that despite being a small firm, they were a very tight knit group, who worked efficiently together, while still being able to find time to laugh and smile with one another. The last time I walked into a corporate office, the misery was palpable and you didn't feel welcome at all. I just got a nice call from a guy named Brian and came in the next day, filled out an application (although I was confused by that, since I wasn't applying for a job with Vanguard) and had a nice discussion with said Brian about what I was looking for. Fine so far. Then, he proceeded to present me with so much paperwork, I thought I was being arrested or signing up for sex reassignment surgery. I didn't actually think much of it but didn't have the time to sit there and go through it, as I had another appointment that I was already late for. When Brian was nice enough to e-mail me the stuff to fill out, I looked at it carefully. Why do they need to have my DIRECT DEPOSIT INFORMATION???? I want a FULL TIME job. I DO NOT WORK FOR VANGUARD. This is really ambiguous and a bit decieving. There is absolutely no reason why they should have any of that information unless you are tempting through them. Just a warning. I'm not sending any of this stuff back. Obviously. What's your favorite employment agency, btw? It's been about 10 years since I've looked for a job!

How to demagnetize myself from this futile staffing agency attraction? With only a mere five minutes each respectively to meet with three recruiters to complete registration paperwork of two forms of identification, and a two hour eternal ordeal to take a computerized skills exam powered by Prove It. It was a very impersonal interview meeting. I arrived at 11:30am and did not depart until 1pm because of this stupid long haul exam. The skills exam room of the computer work stations is a confined space with very minimal air circulation which restricts my best ability to rate well. Prove It skills test consist of MS Word 2007, Excel 2007 and typing. Note: Entrance is on 41st Street, despite of the address states 295 Madison Avenue and Park.
