However, he took the time to help me think through some aspects of our current policy that I could control the cost of and that resulted in a lower premium (for this coming renewal anyway). He may not have a paying customer, but for his honest expertise he has a customer for life when and if our current insurance companies changes our policy options (ie. hail/wind deductible %). A month later, I was shocked to receive a letter from our mortgage company stating that they were going to drop our account due to a lack of homeowners insurance. It turns out that Carol Stockdale, the agent handling our paperwork, had forgotten to file it, leaving us without coverage for weeks. I let this serious error slide because Carol was recommended by good friends. We managed to correct the issue, and a couple of years passed without major incidents. Ten days ago, I reached out to the owner of the agency, Jason Hughes, requesting an audit of our property. We live next to a wooded area, have a new roof, and have made several other changes that should affect our coverage. Jason promised to get back to me the following day, but I am still waiting for a response. This situation has left me concerned about the reliability of Hughes Insurance Group. I can't fathom having them advocate on my behalf in a real time of need. Trusting them to handle a claim or provide assistance seems risky based on my experiences.

I just never had any issue before. After removing my old car and adding my new car to my account, I was quoted a great price but never paid the price I was quoted and agreed to pay. My payments were either more than double what I was quoted or $10 a month. I was never given a rationale to help me understand what was going on with the payments. I called numerous times to get an explanation and was given gray rationales each time but no answers. Lisa (staff) only added to the stress and was incredibly insulting and told me, "you're finally caught up on your payments." I was confused by this statement as I have automatic pay set up and never been informed of any delinquencies. On a previous conversation, I explained to Mr. Sullivan I didn't care to speak with Lisa as she's not solution focused but understand he's busy and not readily available to converse with. Perhaps Lisa needs more training so she can offer solutions for customers instead of circular conversations that seem almost antagonizing. I ended up calling another State Farm office and they explained that the fluctuating payments may be "balloon payments" as there are changes in how State Farm bills now. I'm staying with State Farm but moving to their office where they attempt to explain and aren't argumentative with clients. It's unfortunate I'm switching offices but need less stress, straight forward answers and a place that offers educates clients through changing processes.
