I recently moved to West Covina so I've been looking for a great nail salon so I've been trying out a few near my house. A few weeks ago I decided to try this salon out and I was impressed. The salon was so clean and relaxing and the service was great. Not only was it my first time there, it was the first time I tried the dip powder manicure. I loved it. My nails are very weak and break easily and with the dip powder they haven't cracked or the nail polish hasn't chipped off. I recommend Kelly, she's great! Spent 21 dollars to get a 2 dollar job manicure. I can see my natural nails through the "polish". Nail Tech was offended when I asked for a second coat. Bottle was nearly empty, didn't offer a color swap or different option. She just rubbed a dry brush on my nails. One of the worst manicures I've ever received. I was a faithful client to this place. There is/was one person who did an outstanding job on my nails & pedi. She was the only one that I would request to do my work. On my last visit, she was working on my pedi. Another technician asked if I wanted a fill also. I said yes, but I wanted the girl who was doing my pedi to do it. The technician walked away & started speaking in their language. The girl who was working on my pedi told me that was the owner; she was complaining about me and was mad that I only wanted that girl to do my work. Call me crazy, but I would think that's a compliment.....it would have the potential to bring in business. Call me crazy for allowing this to be the driving factor that I don't go there anymore. And call me crazy for staying, having my work done, & giving them my money. I'll find somewhere else. read more

this place is really 3.5 stars. I want to give this place more stars but Hayley made me wait over an hour to see her for a full set. I came here on a Sunday afternoon. I'm a new customer and you would think that she would want to make a better impression. Instead she tells me to come at 4 and then at 5pm I'm still waiting for her to do my nails? In the meantime I was able to get a manicure from Amy and that's where the extra star comes in. She was very sweet, took her time cleaning and prepping my toes and making them look pretty. What I appreciate the most is when I accidentally ruined the manicure on my big toe and Amy kindly redid it and made it nice again. Hayley finally got to me and she apologized about the long wait. Unfortunately there were very short staffed and that was why she ran behind. Okay I guess I can understand. This place must be popular because there was still a long wait for service at 6pm when they close. My nails looked very nice though after she was done so Hayley did a good job on them. They aren't too thin or thick and are even in length. I got the set with white tips. The cost for a full set and pedicure was $36 read more

The girl who did my nails wouldn't talk to me, won't acknowledge my existence, keep talking with her coworker, and push my hands around and drop each of her utensils like she is annoyed. She even stuck her stupid laptop in front of me to tell me she is done with me. Also, careful with the hygiene of this place. All they did after using it on me is rinse the utensils and stick it in the sterile bags and PRETEND to have sterilized it. Right in front of me and didn't care. If I were you, go somewhere else. I came by to get a fill on my nails because my nails were just getting too long, and Diane did my nails for me and my nails that I had previously got done from somewhere else were just not done right at all, so she gave me a brand new set of nails, did a beautiful almond shape nail, and voila! Cheap and my nails look great! French tips for both, gel French tips for the manicure though. With the callus remover the pedicure was 23 and the gel nails were 20... I've paid much more for poor quality. It's sat afternoon and there was no wait! My girl was sweet and friendly and she got "no thank you" means don't ask me again. I recently went to this place and by far will not be returning. First, the lady cut my nails completely off. Mind me they were my real nails and not acrylic. I asked for a cut down. Not chop them off completely. She went on to say "they will grow back" I got dip powder and a pedi. Not even a week later dip is falling off my nails completely. I can usually go almost a month and a half without redoing my dip. If I didnt have to rate it, I wouldn't even give it a star. Horrible place and they dont have much selections in colors.... why bother having an appointment. They make you wait even though you have an appointment. Never again! I went in today to get my acrylic/gel nails off and got attended by Maya, she was super nice and friendly and have me thee first pain free nail removal I've ever had. She took her time to make sure my nails soaked long enough and filed them off with light file strokes( the goop pretty much fell off every time she swooshed the filer) . It was like magic, she never clipped n tugged like other places and my nails look like I never had acrylics. I will definitely be going back read more

Visited A+ today around 4:15. There was about 4 people being serviced. Ann the manager asked what we needed: a full set (acrylic), spa pedi, and a manicure for my daughter (age 4). Manicurist at chair #2 serviced me. Specifically asked if she could do an ombré with the 2 colors I chose. She said yes no problem. She shaped my nails, I washed my hands, when I sat down she says "we usually don't do ombré with normal polish, so choose only one" WTH. I bit my tongue, said okay. She proceeds to paint my nails. Polish is uneven, and there is a huge gap between my nail polish and the cuticle, and a ton of bubbles. I was finished for all of 5 min when the manicurist asked me to move to assist another guest. Sat in the next chair over 30 min. No acknowledgement. I decided not to do the follow thru with the pedicure, for fear of disappointment. So my boyfriend then walks up to the manager to pay and she proceeds to refer to him as a "bank". Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

I love the great reasonable prices at A+ nails. The customer service is okay it can be better. They do a lot of side talk. The sometimes wear gloves and sometimes don't. They don't have a lot of options that they give you unlike other salons. The style is very basic. It's a good place to go to if you are not in worried and just need to get your nails done. They are pretty fast. I wish they did more callous treatments. The last time they left my feet hurting my using this clipper to cut off skin off the back off my foot and it hurt a lot. They ask if they are hurting you and if it does hurt. It does and I tell them. I just want a callous treatment that does a good job and feels good on your feet. The kind with the lotion and where they put the bag. But like I said if you just want to get your feet done because you haven't in a while and you are on a budget then A+ nails is the place for you. read more

I used to go here for over a year. I love the pedicures that Wendy gives which is their only saving grace. When I first started going there, the owner-Jennifer, would do my nails. She did a great job. However she would often times not be there for my appointments which is how I ended up with Hayley. Hayley does awesome designs, but she has a serious time management problem. I thought it was her clients' faults and since I would come at the end of the day it was like a snowball effect. Not true! She is late even when you are her first appointment of the day (that happened twice). I stuck in there because I loved the great work that Hayley did until my last visit. Hayley was running behind as usual. She did a crappy and rushed job after I waited an hour for her. Then when I asked her about a lumpy piece of polish she got snappy and just slapped some gel on top of it. I was so mad that I didn't say a word for fear of exploding. This was a year ago and I haven't been back. The only reason I'm bringing this up now is (1) I didn't Yelp a year ago and (2) I was recently reminded when Wendy asked a coworker why she hadn't seen me. So, there you have it in a nutshell. She was so sweet making conversation and joking with me and very detailed in her work. She did an excellent job with my mani pedi. She wasn't rough with my feet which I liked because places I go usually treat my feet like a piece of meat. It also didn't hurt that she said I was cute.
