Oh my, I would be just love to see the video where I told her it was curlier than I expected, and when Dawn rushed over to comb it out, I stopped her saying I wanted to "play" with my new hair instead (trying to put it nicely so she wouldn't make it worse). When I came back a few days later for another stylist to fix it, Dawn didn't even recognize me! I am only following up on this review so that others don't make the same mistake I did. I liked the way it looked but my hair refuses to curl so I did some investigating looking for "the best perm in Portland" and found Dawn so I made an appointment. She messed up my perm then cut off all my hair and insisted I asked for it. We considered taking her to small claims court and will do so if we don't get the rest of our refund. She had my spouse meet her at a bar across town at 6pm to give him half of our 225 refund. She had a man come out to pay him and the man insited he didn't know her but saw her a couple times in the bar and that she was nuts. Please please please avoid at all costs. She does nothing her website claims she does. To Dawn aka alias Delta. I have text message proof of everything that happened and you admitting to cutting my hair without permission and botching my initial perm. You can deflect all you want but regardless you have done this to people in the past and it stops here. If your thinking of going to Dawn for a perm your making a terrible mistake. Dawn is amazing, highly, highly recommend! I had an initial consultation/appointment with her about a month ago. She took the time to get a feel for my hair and gave me a fantastic trim. Since my hair is color treated (I've been bleaching for years) she advised that I wait at least a couple weeks before proceeding and sent me home with a protein treatment to build up my hair before getting a perm. My appointment was about three weeks later and although I still had some damage to my ends (which she warned me could effect the results of a perm) we went ahead with the perm and the results are AMAZING! I've had one perm before this in the 90's and it was so bad it took me 20 plus years to even consider trying again and I'm so so glad I did! My hair is so fun, I feel good about myself (which is especially nice considering quarantine's got me 15 lbs heavier than usual and not wearing make-up) and I get compliments all day long which is a delightful (and needed) boost. I scheduled a perm appointment with Dawn based on her reviews. I asked for a beach wave perm, a new trend. I sent her photos of examples of the curl pattern I wanted via text and she indicated that she could do what I wanted. Fast forward to my appointment, she worked quickly and I was out of there in just over an hour. But when she removed the rollers and dried my hair, I was in shock! I had the exact opposite of what I asked for - right, kinky curls similar to Afro hair. Dawn assured me within a week the curls would loosen into the soft waves I had asked for. About an hour after I left her salon, I texted her that I was unhappy with the perm. She acknowledged that I was beginning to panic and offered to see me 2 days later to condition it in hopes it would loosen the curls. She also offered to re-perm it but I declined since I didn't want damaged hair on top of a bad curl. We texted back and forth and I finally asked for a refund. She refused, stating that she gave me a good perm. While I don't disagree that the perm process was done properly, the curl type is not what I asked for because she chose the wrong size rods. I do not recommend dawn at all. She was completely unprofessional when it came to customer service and ensuring that I was a happy customer. read more

I found Dawn on Google after receiving a perm that fell out in approximately a month. I was looking for an expert in perms and was so glad I found her! She got me in very quickly for a consultation and could tell what went wrong with the fallen out perm. She discussed with me how she would go about doing a perm that would last and we agreed on what I'd like done after looking at pictures of perms she'd done in the past. She was able to schedule me in quickly for the actual perm, did everything she stated she would, and it turned out fantastic!!! I LOVE IT!! Let me just say that it was worth the risk! She did a great job on my color, after which, I decided to go for a cut as well.
