Garbage haircut, weird how defensive Nancy got when I contacted her. I contacted Nancy to get my daughter's hair done before her 22nd birthday party. We discussed my daughter's wishes, black hair with silver chunky highlights. She quoted me a cost of $180, which was totally reasonable. But looking back, I wish I would've gone with my daughter because she has anxiety and doesn't necessarily speak up when a stylist is doing subpar work. So when she got home, I was stunned. She received the MOST UNEVEN HAIRCUT I have ever seen (with the exception of 5 year-old me cutting my cousin's hair...) I seriously could not believe that Nancy makes a living at styling hair. Just look at the pictures. Nancy did a single process brown. The color is OK, but nothing like we previously discussed. No wow factor that justifies the $160 that she charged. But what really blew me away was the haircut. It is so lopsided my daughter came home and cried. I understand that my kid's hair had damage and she needed a trim, but the end result was crazy. This is supposed to be her birthday present from me and I expected a better result. I asked for a refund to offset the cost of getting her hair fixed. Nope. Nancy said she spent so much money on product (2 bottles) which is preposterous, that she is unwilling to give any sort of refund. And she laughed out loud when I told her my daughter cried. Avoid, avoid, avoid. No accountability even when she admits to doing a crap job. Like another reviewer mentioned, there's a reason she is so readily available. read more

I've finally found an incredible salon that does it all! I was losing hope with my hair type, and my hair was beyond damaged after years and years of going to other salons. No one knew how to flatter my face shape and frame my face, or how to give me tips to maintain my hair. It all changed when I met Nancy. Nancy took the time and had patience to personally style and give me an amazing hairstyle and cut. She is an expert at highlights and hair dye and she listens to her customers requests perfectly. She framed my face perfectly and made me feel so confident. She even has the kindest heart, and took the time to show me products she recommends for my hair, without ripping me off with crazy prices. Not to mention, she has the best sense of humor and makes you feel incredibly welcome. Only good, happy vibes here. Now, I only trust Nancy with my hair. Listen up. If you are struggling with your hair look or don't know how to maintain your hair type, GO TO NANCY! Honestly from what I saw at her salon anyone of the employees seemed highly trained as well. Nancy was great! After my previous stylist moved away in the fall, I was hesitant to go someplace else for fear of finding someone new. Alas, many months go by and like the once overgrown Japanese maple in my front yard, my hair had grown out of control. It was time. Along comes Groupon and Nancy. I took the plunge and am so glad I did. She did an incredible job by first washing, deep conditioning, drying my pseudo wavy hair straight, and then cutting. Who knew that this simple set of steps would make all of the difference in the world for me. She wasn't overzealous in cutting great lengths off, but was conservative and only evened my hair out so that the grow out wouldn't look like a poorly cut bush. It looks great! Thanks Nancy! Nancy is AMAZING!!! I decided to try and touch up my roots at home and ended up with a orange hair disaster. After reading all the wonderful reviews on Nancy I immediately messaged her and within the hour she gave me a call and got me an appointment the same day! This is in response to Maya G. I am DeDe, the current owner of Taglio Salon, and the person whom you had a consultation with. I was with a client and you insisted on interrupting us. I told you I would be with you in a few moments, but you would not stop talking. During our consultation you kept mentioning money, which I stated having pictures would help determine the price. You would not LISTEN, so I suggested that I was not the stylist for you. I gave you a business card and you left the salon. At no time was I loud or rude to you. But obviously looking at your other reviews, you think the same of most people. There are two sides to every story. read more

I went in for consult and a woman with curly hair said I am busy.. I don't think it was Nancy.. She insisted I bring in a pic.. I said I just want highlights and looking at a budget.. she kept saying I am probably not the stylist for you.. she then stated at cheaper salons you get what you pay for.. that is not always true.. my hair was done fine at perfect look.. I just wanted a change.. I told her I also get other services and am sticking to a budget.. she did not show empathy for my losing my parents young or ill husband or sick cat. I practically left crying.. this is so rude to talk so loud to a potential customer and be so abrasive.. that is just so unprofessional. there are plenty of great salons in portland with sweet people and I think the first impression said it all.. she was rude and did not care less for people and what they are going through.. that is it.. if we are all about money find a different way to make it. I gave a massage to great young man for 30 bucks cause he had a birthday coming.. I used the money to buy him arnica.. he is planning to be a fire fighter. we are here to help people.
