She was absolutely amazing, she listened very intently to what I wanted and then double checked before doing anything that I was ok with it. Be transparent and honest and not overcharge your clients. I needed to cancel and change my hair appointment due a sudden change in my work schedule. I provided more than 24 hour notice to cancel. When I arrived at my new hair appointment my stylist scolded me and stated, "you change your hair appointment all the time." At the end of my hair appointment the stylist informed that my charge was $400. I paid and have not returned. read more

Appel Nouveau is a hidden gem! Honestly, it would have to be fantastic because I have been coming here monthly for the last 20 years from Longview Washington and traffic can be a beast sometimes and it's still worth it! During this time I've been to almost everyone at one time or another. Ally keeps me looking at least 10 years younger with lovely color & highlights, fresh updated cuts, and nobody can do a blow-out like that girl- including the Blow-Out Bar in Vegas! She is also so terrific at men's cuts my husband loves coming into Ally once a month. Lina has given me wonderful smoothing treatments that make my frizzy hair wavy and easy to manage and Jeanette gives an amazing head massage. Jaime is very attentive and has a gentle touch. I absolutely adore Cynthia! I've been seeing her the past few years, and she does my hair perfectly each time. Though, she was unavailable to do a simple curl style the day of my elopement. I decided to try someone new since I loved my experiences in the past. Unfortunately, the curls were messy and completely flat by the time I got home. I showed up and they didn't have my apt, the person asked to see my email confirmation, i showed it to her and she didn't seem to care much. It was 3:30 and she acted like she could maybe squeeze any kind of service in before her 4 pm. Like what could you do in that time when you're literally working on someone else in that moment. I replied with my number and got another email back with confirmation after that. Your experience sitting in the chair was not the same as my experience. Oh my gosh, for a first time in my entire life I cried in the hair salon when I saw what stylist Jaime did to my hair. My request was to do dark roots + blond hair. Why and when she decided to skip my request and do these ugly highlights with red stripes instead of listening to a customer ?( I even showed her an example pic of what I needed and explained what color tone to use for the roots) Why she did not tell me that she cannot do a solid blond so I could go to any other place? And finally WHY she even did not apologize for her shitty work?! When she saw I am crying she decided not charge me for her "masterpiece" but now I need to live with this hair for another month and put extra bleach to fix her unprofessional work. I came in for a blowout before a wedding I was attending the same day. The stylist was young, very nice and had a pleasant personality. Things started off well. She asked what I wanted, and I explained that I wanted my hair to be straight, but slightly turned under on the bottom ends. I also wanted some "lift" around my forehead near my part. She washed my hair and we went over to the chair. Once she started styling my hair, I realized just how inexperienced she was. She didn't seem to know exactly what to do. It took her over an hour to finish. It has never taken over an hour at any other salon - it usually takes no more than 30 min. So either her blow dryer was too weak, or she was trying to keep it on a low setting, or she didn't know what she was doing. About mid-way through, she showed it to me. The area around my face looked greasy, and limp, and the bottom looked frizzy, and not turned under at all. I mentioned the lack of lift, so she continued to try to make it look right around my face by teasing it with a comb (!), then spraying it with hair spray (!), and when all of that didn't work, she continued with the blow dryer!!! Nothing worked, and I risked being late to the wedding if I didn't leave. So paid, and tipped her well. But when I got back to my hotel and took a good look at it in the mirror, I realized just how bad it was. The ends were frizzy and not turned under, and the hair around my face looked glued to my head. It is an understatement to say thatI regretted paying $50 for a style I could have done better myself (because I have, many times). And my hair felt like straw. I don't live in the area, but if I did, I wouldn't go back. read more
