I personally find laundromats very interesting. Where else are you going to see such personal things of complete strangers. Face it everyone has to do laundry and some of us have to do it outside our home... If you are lucky you'll get to do it at A New Spin Laundry. I love everything about this place. I love that I don't have to stock up on quarters or slip precious ten dollar bills into a change making machine only to hear a callous calink CAlink link link linky of forty quarters falling atop each other, destined only to repeat this vicious wash-dry-make change cycle. At A New Spin Laundry I only have to keep track of a stored value card. I love the fact that I can choose a machine that fits the capacity needs I have that day. 18lb machines and 30lb machines are available. Virgilio's is a much closer place for me to be doing my laundry but I find the staff there are very unpleasant (Come on ladies you are older than my mom and you are cursing like sailors about customers; I've seen sixth graders with more class). So I choose to lug my laundry an extra two and a half blocks to this place where I can watch the latest primary results pour in to CNN or the late-night broadcast of JEOPARDY! or whatever else the staff picks. Also, it seems that the TVs can be on different channels so I would feel comfortable requesting a channel if you just can't miss LOST but you have no clean underpants. On another note, the dryers here are so big that the freshman-in-high-school version of your body could fit in here which equals more loads inside one dryer : ) read more

The place is clean, orginized, and i got assitance when i needed by the lady that works there. even though her english was very limited she tried her damn best to help me and thats more than enough for me. No bathrooms :(. And its centrally located so you can walk around the beautiful North End while your landry is getting done. read more

Do Not Get Your Laundry Done Here. A few months ago I brought my laundry here with my teal vineyard vines pullover with whales on the back. The next day I picked up my laundry and the pullover was gone. I went back and the front desk lady said there was nothing she could do.. Fast forward a few months. Today I dropped off my laundry and a front desk lady was wearing the same one. Mind you this pullover is not sold in stores, I bought it online. I politely asked her if someone had lost that sweater here and she looked at me deer in the headlights. Then I said I lost my pullover here and she said her son bought it for her. Are you kidding me? I would understand if it was in the lost and found and no one had claimed it but don't lie about it. read more

I used to work at A New Spin part-time. This really is a nice laundromat. It is so clean and posh, tons of people come inside just to look around and are amazed that such a laundromat could exist. Everything operates with a laundry card that can be purchased for $1 with a one dollar bill or a credit card. Then you can load it up with the amount of money you need, any amount using cash or in $10 intervals with a credit card. Then that card is used to work all of the machines, so no need to stock up on quarters. There are different size options to wash and dry, nice folding stations, carts to transfer your clothes, multiple TVs and a wash-dry-fold service if you really hate doing your own laundry. I refused to do have our laundry done at our hotel, so I hopped in an Uber and went to this wonderful laundromat. Very clean and friendly!

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. Horrible customer service the employees are rude and very unfriendly. I went there for drop off laundry and the scale wasn't working, so I decided to do it myself but the soap dispenser was also out of order. Came back a different day and asked if the scale was working yet and received a snarky remark like it was never out of service. Brought in my laundry and when I went to pick it up everything was barely folded, it was extremely wrinkled and some of my clothes were still damp. A New Spin is the absolute nicest laundromat that I have ever stepped foot in. The place is incredibly clean, has free wifi, seating and televisions, but this is not why I think it's great. The machines are new and my clothes often dry in 30 minutes. I think that is amazing! read more

Comes off a little pricey at first when you have to pay for the card, which you need to be able to pay to do your laundry, but when you can do 2 loads of laundry in one machine it ends up being on par with other places. The ladies in here are friendly and the TVs help pass the time. Nice, clean place, as well, with plenty of folding room. read more

It's clean. There's big screen tv's and free wifi. Plus you don't need to dig through the couch for loose quarters as it's all on a card.

I am absolutely NOT the person to ever write negative reviews but the staff is terrible terrible terrible and there is absolutely zero way to get in touch with management or the owners. I was in there today and gentleman who works there was wasting a customers load of laundry i witnessed him use ZERO detergent GROSS. The older lady with the glasses... I don't even know where to begin. I would frequently do the drop off service my last visit doing it ( now I wash it myself in the washers) I politely asked her to wash the colors and white separate and when she dries the clothes to only dry them for 35 mins on medium heat. They have on many occasions burnt my clothes because of long dry times and high heat. It's not an unreasonable question to ask since I'm paying for a laundry service well apparently to her it is. She yelled at me to separate my clothes myself and told me I should just do it myself meaning not pay for the laundry service. WHAT! Lady this is your job. If this place wasn't literally across the street for me I would go else where. read more

I was traveling with my family and needed to wash clothes, didn't know where to go other than concierge service at hotel, which is outrageously expensive. This place is SUPER clean and the guy working - Donald? - was exceptionally helpful, accommodating and friendly. I never thought I'd write a review for a laundromat but the fabulous service we received from Donnie was so helpful he went above and beyond the call of duty. He was personable and helped us a newcomers , we can't wait to come back. PS the dryers are massive and dry at an alarming rate. The ONLY negative is the card minimum ... multiple people came in wanting to wash one or two items and there was no easy and affordable solution other than to purchase a $10 card. read more

Very clean and the location is great. Half the machines are out of service at all times but it's usually no problem to find a machine. Warning: pay close attention to what your charged as I've had multiple problems with their dryers. Twice in the same visit my card was charged $1.25 but given only 6 minutes, not the 30 minutes that I should have gotten. All in all a decent spot tho. UPDATE: I let the manager know that my card had been overcharged and was refunded almost immediately. Good customer service! read more

I'm not a fan of laundromats, I prefer dragging a suitcase full of clothes home to do for free. But when you have a months worth of laundry and it's the weekend, a girl needs to improvise. I went to "A New Spin" in the North End. It was bright, covered in flat-screen televisions, and had couches. (aka. Patio furniture, but whatever) The staff is helpful and will walk you through the routine, plus the place is monitored by at least 6 security cameras. The downside; the machines don't take quarters. (what?! Since when?) So you have to purchase a card to add value, think Charlie Card - but it costs a dollar. (what?! Since when?) Overall I liked the place, but why does the simplest chore have to be so complicated by technology? read more

It was a nice laundry mat. They have you buy a card for $1 and add money to the card to purchase your wash and dry cycles. It makes things more convenient. I have only been one time and it was quite crowded. I had to wait for a washing machine. The only available machines were the $9 cycles so I decided to wait for one that was a bit smaller and cost $4.75. Overall it was a good experience. I'll be back. read more

The machines in this place keep tearing my clothes. The first time, I thought it was just a coincidence. The second, I thought I had the settings wrong. Today, I put all the settings on delicate and the lowest heat and one of my bras was literally torn to shreds. This was the last straw after all the tiny rips I've been finding in my clothes after washing. Even the quality of the machines in my college dorm days was better than these. My clothes aren't particularly delicate or expensive and I've never had them ripped like this from washing anywhere else. This place looks nicer on the outside than it actually is. I spoke with the owner Andrew- what a dick! I've had so many problems with this laundry mat. Every time I go the infastructure is not working from no hot water to every machine has an error and I can't finish my laundry. The attendants are foreign and give poor customer service. They are rude, do not understand, and do not help. Poorest Customer service and experiance ever. So I called Andrew the owner to complain and he hung up on me. My tome was calm but confident and I wan not confruntational but he just hung up. I left several meessages asking him why he hung up and if he could give me another number to call. He had the wrong disposition to own a busness and I will never return to this laundry service again. Worst experiance and horible owner! read more

Heaven help you if you need actual service. My card got charged twice because of a faulty machine. When I mentioned it the response was "I don't think so". I've been coming here for a few years now and I know the Lady knows me. Don't matter. If she doesn't feel like helping you, she just won't. This laundromat is awesome. Great machines and nice atmosphere. The people who work there are extremely helpful as well. The reason I'm giving this place three stars is the crazy woman who works there. She is consistently rude to customers (all customers except the ones she knows from the neighborhood) and she is frequently in a bizarre mood. She also seems to have manic episodes where she runs from one end of the place to the other with a mop in her hand but not actually doing anything. This laundromat is very close to my apartment, and I think it's great! Very clean, comfortable seating areas and nooks. $4.75/wash, $1.25/dry. A good deal in my opinion since both fit a large sized load of clothes. I have found the employees to be nice and helpful, and there's an easy way to put money onto your laundry card. In and out in an hour since the dryers turbo dry...or something like that. Great and spacious location to read a book while washing your clothes. read more

After arriving at Waterfront Laundry at 6:05 and being turned away because I missed the 6:00 last call, I Yelped the area and found the reviews for New Spin to be promising. An added bonus was the late hours. I was greeted with a friendly smile and assisted throughout the process, including suggestions based on other customer experiences. This has to be one of the most enjoyable places to do your laundry. No more searching for one of the banks to sell you a roll of quarters....just get a cybercard (free if you bring a coupon in from Regional Review) added the amount of money I wanted to put on the card by using debit, credit or cash and I was ready. The great thing about it is the variety of washing machines. They have a 60 pound machine that I was able to wash 3 king size down comforters in for $9.00. Tonight, I went to A New Spin just before 9:30 and when I walked in, the woman that was working there (older, somewhat overweight) was stuffing her face with a sandwich. She asked me if I was there to wash clothes and I said I was. She told me that you can put your stuff in the wash, but if the washing machines lock at 9:30, then you can't get your clothes until the next morning. I've been coming here for the past year and have never seen that happen, and I've come in past 9:30 before. Normally I wouldn't do my laundry so late, but I was moving the next day and wanted to have everything clean. She was very rude to me about the entire situation and said to me "We just want to get out of here." I'm sorry, I thought you were open until 11pm and that's what you were getting paid for? I understand that the machines may lock, but she didn't have to be so rude about it. read more

I went for the first time with tons of laundry and the experience was quick and easy. There was a friendly woman who helped me get a laundry card and put money on it (I went to this place originally because they accept cards). I've gone to a lot of laundry mats over the years around boston and I've never seen one even come close to as clean as this place. All the machines were spotless and even lint free. All the machines were extremely well kept and ran very smoothly. There were even tons of carts to shuffle laundry around in and plenty of cushioned seating. It's a little pricer at $4.75 to wash a load and $1.00 to dry but with how clean, quick, and easy it is I think it's worth the extra dollar or two. This place is a lazy neat freak's dream. read more

READ THIS BEFORE ENTERING LAUNDRY MAT!!!! There's only a few things yelp if good for, and one of those is to shit on companies that are really, truly, and utterly say.... shitty? A New Spin is one of the finest, perhaps the top of the list for the shittiest businesses in the entire north end, which, as a resident of non-italian decent, is very hard to obtain considering the mass of shit businesses the north end offers. Though, the new spin cannot be at fault, nor the employees. Instead who should be at blame is City Suites located at 421 Hanover st in case anyone wants to take their damaged laundry, light it on fire, and throw it through their window in order to burn the shit hole to the ground. The reason for my anger, as you all might be wondering, is that this past week three of my north face fleeces were entirely scorched in the smaller dryers. Why didn't you use the big ones? City Suites asks. Well, cause your employees use them because they know what damage the other machines will do. So why aren't there signs? There are signs about damage (apparently, and according to delusional management). But, why aren't they on the machines that do all of the damage? I don't have the slightest clue. Now, my fleeces, which I professed to be more expensive than the incompetent machine and was laughed at, were ruined in a load of laundry that was still entirely wet when we discovered the ruined clothing. Worse customer service experience ever! N a total scam! The only pro is that they r open 7 days a week till 11pm but on the other side they r a bit more expensive than other places in the neighborhood n they have no idea about what customer service is about! After today I'm never going there again(n I've only been a couple of times).First of all u have to buy a card to operate the machines for a dollar which after u can load with cash or credit/debit card. Not only the washers r quite expensive but the dryers r a total rip off! All the dryers say a dollar for 25 minutes,but after you load the machine n slide the card the minutes drop to 20! I asked the man who "seemed" to work there (he was nowhere to be found when I had to show new customers how to use the machines) y the machine says 1$ for 25 minutes but in reality is 20 n his answer was "u need a quarter for the extra 5minutes!" U can't add a quarter,it will automatically charge u a dollar when u slide the card! I politely answered that it would be nice if people knew what they get for what they think they r paying n his rude answer was "don't tell me,go tell the people who made the machine!" R u kidding me?!? Rude and with the worst attitude ever! Never going again! Never change for the unknown:I'll keep going to the laundromat on Prince st,at least it's cheaper n ladies are helpfull, friendly and always with a smile on their face! read more

I came here to do some laundry whilst on a vacation in Boston with my family. I cannot begin to describe how poorly managed this business is. Firstly, the staff struggle understanding English, so as a foreigner who has no idea how to use the machines, I had to rely solely on the signs. This leads on to my next point. The signs are misleading and mostly false. When drying my clothes it stated that one spin would cost $1.50 and go for 30mins. So when I did this, it took out 65 cents and gave me 6mins. When I asked a lady who was part of the staff, she kept repeating that it costs 25c for an extra 6mins if someone is using the dryer below you. This didn't answer my question or help me at all. Instead, for the purpose of wanting to leave the vicinity out of complete and utter frustration, I put $10 on my laundry card (which is the minimum if you're using card) and waited every 6 mins to repay. Just when you think it's over, one time I did it, it took out 50c instead of 25c. Horrible experience, do not recommend at all. read more
