Kay from A OK gave me exactly what I asked for, saved me 25+ of hours of research, and scheduled all my property visits. I found them through the Better Business Bureau (BBB) using their 'Accredited Only' search option and it brought me to this company. This was hands down the best customer service I've ever received, and was crucial to finding an apartment over 1000 miles away from my Residence. I was moving due to a Job Offer in Dallas, from Florida. I had filled out the form on the 30th of Dec. and I got a call the following day on New Years Eve. Kay was a miracle worker, she was sweet as Apple Pie and had top-notch Southern friendliness. An absolute pleasure to work with her. She had sent me an interactive map with the properties and their rents, photos, amenities, etc. She contacted all the properties and even scheduled the visits as I mentioned above. DO NOT WORK WITH A OK APARTMENT LOCATORS!! ****ESPECIALLY DENISE****** This woman was unprofessional, rude and apparently doesn't understand that the world does not revolve around her uppity self and her pathetic excuse for, "rental resources" Story? When searching for a new place to live in Plano from downtown Dallas I filled out one of those b.s little forms in order to view a listing online. (So irritating when websites do that- it's just a rental listing people! Isn't that public record?) Anyway, a woman called me from A OK by the name of Denise. She was nice enough. She said she'd send me some info to my email with what I was looking for. MONTHS LATER she gets back to me ( she said she had been sick ) Well- lo and behold between the first and second time we spoke I had decided to stay at my current place but then changed my mind about the time she called. So ..awesome! Actually pretty great timing. I gave her some more information about my needs which she had entirely wrong and then she gave me a schpeel about how her services are completely free and la de da as long as I put her name down. Okay, cool. Of course I would do that. Basically she gives me shitty info I can -and did- find myself online. And by visiting places. Whatever, what a TOTAL waste of time for me to deal with someone like that! And why do they waste their time? Oh yeah, for $100 if someone decides to use them instead of searching google- sidenote:please do the latter. Fast forward a month and a half- she calls me again. We are all settled into our new place and she gives me a call. "Hi, this is Denise from AOK. Haven't heard from ya!" *SERIOUSLY?* I explain to her that I found the listing myself so I did not put her name down on the lease but thanks so much and of course I've already found a new place (hello?!)... in fact I've been living here for weeks. She then has the audacity to become hostile over the phone, call me sweetheart, asks me twice if I put her down on the lease and I said, no, I found the place myself ... why would she get paid for that? IN fact, I had called OTHER locators and they had actually helped me. In a timely manner. And without attitude. In fact, they even offered ME money ( which I didn't take ). She then told me NOT TO HIRE PEOPLE IF I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE THEM CREDIT. AND THEN used the fakest, bitchiest voice to say something sarcastic and proceeded to hang up on me. Dear Denise from A OK, get into another field of work. Don't work with people- in person or over the phone- when you have poor time scheduling and are incredibly rude. I used them to locate a new apartment mainly because they offered "free moving". I found a loft in downtown without much help from them. The moving service they used was Ameritex Movers. They ripped two holes in the arm of my couch & scratched a huge mirror. Took 6 hours to move from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 1 bedroom apartment. Seems like I saw them just standing around a lot & didn't seem to do things very efficiently. Then, charged an additional $400 on top of what A OK paid. I contacted A OK to let them know about the horrible moving experience and received no call back from the locator or management. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY! read more

I discovered apartment locator services about 5 years ago and lucky for me both my past and my most recent experience have been really good. My agent was super friendly yet professional. She was able to answer all of my questions and she even gave me some insider tips about living in Dallas. I found a perfect 2 bedroom apartment in a safe neighborhood plus the rent was very reasonable compared to DC which is where I was moving from. I like to review businesses that are especially helpful and this place definitely made that list. read more

This service was horrible or maybe just the person I dealt with, though she came recommended from a friend. I emailed her. She said call. So I called her and gave her all the information she needed to start my search. She said she'd email me late that night. Well, I waited patiently for about two weeks before I checked back in with her. She said she emailed the information to someone else on accident. She then proceeded to forward me the information along with this person's email address. I emailed her back and told her that the information she sent wasn't even what I was looking for so I sent her my information again. After another week of waiting I gave up on her and filled out the A-ok service form again. To which she replied. When I sent her an email telling her I was unwilling to work with her she said she didn't even have me in her system. So ok. Thanks for letting me know you know nothing about customer service and aren't very good at your job despite having done it for "years." After that fiasco I went to ABC apartment locators. I filled out their form one day, got called by a representative the next, and had an email with over 20 listings that same night. read more

I called when my husband and I were planning on relocating to Dallas so he could go to school and I could be closer to my family. Every apartment we were sent was over the price range I gave them. Due to a complicated pregnancy we decided to stay where we are and my husband deferred school until the following semester. Even after explaining we were not ready to move they call constantly. And then after every call they send an email and a text. I finally just blocked the multiple numbers they call from. I'm sympathetic to the fact that they want the referral fee they get but if life happens and circumstances change they should accept that. read more

So I wanted them to help me find an apt. I filled out the registration of what I was looking for. I called them to let them know I registered and also let them know what I was looking for. The lady who answered cut me off real quick when I told her how many bedrooms and the price range I was looking for. I thought it was very rude of her and she didn't even try and search to see if they had anything for the price range. She told me I would not find anything within that price range unless they are ghetto. I told her I have glimpsed and found some but I needed the extra help to narrow it down. We had started with another company and the young man came back with a list of apartments that did not cover even our most minimal requests, like he had not even spoken with us nor heard a word we said, we were scratching our heads, wth? Kay is knowledgable, efficient and a hoot to boot! She had said to me that after the initial list was edited down, she would call and make sure everything was available and the lending agents were expecting us, available for our day of apartment seeking she stated "I don't want you running all over hell & half a Georgia!" We had a list of 6, saw four, went back to the first one and got the perfect apartment! Easy, quick, painless! We thanked our lucky stars she is a true blessing! We were at lunch before we were even starving! She is a wealth of information. The lady whom I initially contacted for help, gave up on me after her having been given my preferences. She sent me some complexes and we talked on the phone several times. She apparently thought I wasn't going to grab onto the first few listings she'd give me which did not meet the criterion I'd provided her, so I didn't hear from her for at least, at least, a couple of weeks. I found an apartment totally on my own. I called her and asked her about this complex and she only had negative comments about it. Again, she did not ever mention this complex to me period. I did not tell her I was going to move in or not move into the complex. I am the one who found it. I moved in and thought many times as to how she'd given up on me with no contact. I wondered if she gave up this easily on other clients. I received an email from her asking me to call her as she needed my help. I called her and she told me a long story about how the complex I'd moved into, at first, did not want to give her a referral fee but that through several calls and various people she'd talked to, she was able to get the money. SHE DID NOT DESERVE THE MONEY AS SHE DID NOT HELP ME FIND THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX. Please again remember, she never, ever mentioned it to me. I asked her about it and she only had negative comments about it. This is deceitful of this company to engage in such a way. She got paid for doing something she had nothing at all to do with. She profited off the back of me whom again, found all this on my own. I am in the process right now of filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

Please run don't walk away from this locator. They hide bethind lies and half-truths. They promise a free move but when you do lease and call them to let them know they conveniently tell one of those lies. They told me the move would be free if I rented an apt for at least $695, well needless to say, not true and I also found out that complex does even work with them, that was never mentioned to be when I told the locator where I was moving! I have a mind to file a complaint with the better business beareau because this is blantant false advertising at it's worst!! Don't deal with them if you do you will be sorry!!! read more
