This was my dogs first time at a groomer. I had somebody that came to my house. (She is in a shop, now.) I was so impressed with how my fur babies came out. I have a 94 pound English Cream Golden Retriever (2 years old) and a 45 pound English yellow Labrador Retriever (8 months old). I had certain requests, and they did everything I asked. The staff and groomers couldn't be nicer. Apparently, my Golden Retriever was a handful. They gave me detailed information on my fur babies. I appreciate that. This is the first time I've left them anywhere at all. I picked this shop, because of their high ratings on Yelp. Also, they actually answer their phone. A lot of places don't, if they're busy. I brought my goldendoodle for a walk-in eye trimming. The receptionist was nice and the trim looked good....then I noticed a nick around his eye, near his tear duct. It drew blood (not dripping, but it drew blood). They didn't apologize but instead said that he "probably" had "goop" in that spot and that removing it could have pulled the skin off causing the bleeding. They said they, "didn't use scissors on him." (so I assume they used an electric razor?) They said they'll treat it. I asked with what. They said "disinfectant" and wiped his eye clean with a wet cotton ball. The area still bled a bit, but his disposition seemed okay so we got ready to leave. I asked for a receipt because they didn't give me one and it surprisingly took several minutes--the receptionist typed and printed it from the computer which just didn't make sense. After we left I read other reviews saying they don't usually give receipts for transactions unless you ask for one. That is just bizarre. They're CASH or CHECK ONLY which is unusual for a business these days. They claim that's how they "keep prices low". Overall, I felt dissatisfied by their level of customer service. Thy just didn't take responsibility for cutting my dog and because of that, I'll never go back. Just can't trust the staff. read more

Had a terrible experience here. I have 1 dog that I was upfront about that he does tend to not like getting his haircut. They scheduled him first then my other dog who is as easy going as it comes the following day. They called me halfway through the first dogs cut for me to come pick him up bc he wouldn't hold still. Fine. That's not what upset me. They then told me that they are canceling the other dogs appointment for the following day bc they couldn't risk him misbehaving bc they live in the same house. I have never had any issues with him and they left me high and dry. I was so upset. I had to scramble to find somewhere else to take him. Maybe there's a reason I could get in so quickly with a pawfect cut. Their customer service is horrendous read more

With heavy heart I write this review. I have always been super happy with this business. The girls treated my fur babies with kid gloves. I have tried to call and make appointment for my baby. I get a hold of a gentleman to make the appointment, the first time he was downright rude on the phone. Do not have any appointments and looks like we are really booked. Not like them but waited a couple weeks in hope to talk to one of the girls. Called back and got the same gentleman seems like he didn't want to help Me to get an appointment, told him I work though out the week and he said it would be quit a while before I could get in on Saturday. I understand that this business is busy but I am a loyal customer and I feel like they just do not care about past customers. Now I have to find a new groomer so sad read more

I needed to get my dog's raptor claws trimmed. I called around and got prices most were $8-10. My raptor... I mean dog only cost $5. The shop was small but lively. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist that promptly took said raptor right away and before I knew it my raptor was a dog again! Not even one (dog) yelp! I will for sure return for my next nail trim. I can't comment much on how well they cut dogs hair since mine's sheds. I have an Australian labor-doodle that I took here for the first time. They completely shaved him without asking us first... in the middle of winter! He only needed a trim. They claimed he was matted everywhere and that is why they had to shave him but that definitely was not the case, as I brushed him for hours the night before. They even shaved off his mustache and facial hair! They changed his entire physical appearance to the extent that we don't even know who he is... WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. I'm actually sorry to have to write this, because I thought this place was really good. At first my Yorkshire terrier seemed okay when I would drop him off. He would look at me like ( hey, where are u going ) but he would seem okay... tired once I picked him up but overall he seemed okay. By, his 4th visit, the drop off started to get worst. He began to make the whining noise and his stare was longer, 5th-6th drop off, now he's climbing up my chest, his whining now mimics cries, as if he's getting taken into a dungeon instead of waiting room. Still, I figured that he's possibly having separation issues because once I pick him up, he's excited to see me, jumping into my arms, falling asleep on my lap in the car, his normal self... right? Wrong... Noticeably WRONG. 7th visit... Clawing up my chest, Terrorizing Cries. I hand him off to the woman and it's like he's saying SAVE ME, DON'T LEAVE ME. I can feel the fear in his eyes... He's basically kicking his legs out, as to say ( WHAT ARE U DOING, NO ) I had to leave him... I needed to get the knotted hair out. I tried to get them out myself but I couldn't. Once I picked him up, he was excited but it was more like excited to get to our car. He didn't lay on my lap, he was distant. His hair cut was way to short. The face area was longer than the rest of his body. Just uneven, a waste of money. Basically, nothing I couldn't do myself with my untrained hand. He wasn't knotted to that degree of shortness. It seemed rushed and unskilled. His butt area is redden and he's rubbing his behind on carpet. I tried picking him up and he runs and hides. He's never been this way with me. NEVER. He sleeps with me, tonight he isn't there. I can get over the disappointing haircut, although I HATE THE CUT.. it will grow back. My real concern is... What did they do to my baby? Why is he red back there? Did they hurt him? Why is he so distant and timid? Reading other reviews, I'm certain that something is wrong. I'm taking him to the vet in the morning. Hopefully he isn't cut... that would break my heart, knowing that I left him there. I VOW to... NEVER LEAVE HIM AT ANY GROOMER THAT I CAN'T SEE... I need a SUBWAY RESTAURANT SEE THRU GLASS STATION GROOMER.... PLEASE PEOPLE, pay attention to these places. They can do more physical and or emotional damage than we think. We need groomer homes that will make our pets feel more at ease. I would rather pay a little extra for a passive caring groomer that will listen and nurture our pets thru the experience, keeping them relax so that we won't have accidentally cuts, nips, infections!!!! What am We paying them for? It's a overall package... not just a haircut and a dollar. I love my dog!!!! I had a fantastic experience at this place after being very disappointed with other groomers in the area. Our dog had a quite traumatic experience at our previous groomers and so I was nervous taking her to a new place. The staff at a Pawfect Cut were helpful and asked the right questions for me to get the exact cut that we wanted. I remember when they first opened it was right off of Rt 30 at that little strip mall. The people where always great and did a fantastic job on my dogs and persian. Then they moved to old Frankfort Way and somehow got infested with flees because the next 3 times I brought my persian in low and behold she came down with flees, now this cat never liked the dogs so she lived in my bedroom never leaving it so there was no way she could catch flees from anything outside as she was never allowed outside. The dogs and cat never had flees or came back with flees till the new place. It was such a shame I could no longer bring my animals there again. My daughter gave them 1 more chance and the price was outragous. Unless that extra money was to try to take care of the flee issue. Which I hope was the case. But either way I will no longer bring animals back to them. read more

After taking your dogs here, if you try another groomer, it will be clear why the A Paw-fect cut is the best in the business. The owner also boards dogs in her home. I have a very neurotic poodle who had not do well when boarded. As a Yelp Elite it pains me to have to write a 1 star review, as I rarely write them. Unfortunately, I have been left with no choice in this instance. I took my goldendoodle to A Paw-Fect Cut because I needed a local groomer and heard they were one of the best in the area. When I dropped off my pup I had one instruction "do not cut her eyelashes". I said this a number of times to the girl at the front desk and explained my vet said they should be left long because she is part poodle and they provide protection as poodles and doodles are prone to eye issues. The girl said "oh, I've never heard of that". I reiterated to please not cut them and she sort of half looked at them and indicated she would pass the instructions along. Well, when I picked up my pup....guess what? The one instruction I had given was completely disregarded and her lashes were cut. Significantly. I had to go so far as to show them a picture of the before from earlier in the week because they insisted they didn't cut them. Guess what ladies, I do have EYES! Here's the real issue, they couldn't care less. I made clear I was very unhappy and they just looked at me and said "oh, they will grow back." Frankly, that is not the point. I was unhappy with the service and they did NOTHING to try to rectify the situation. It was sad. So here I am, in the position of feeling as though I need to make known this awful customer service. It is objective 1 to not let a customer leave unhappy. I don't expect anything free, I just wanted them to acknowledge they made a mistake, apologize and try (even just a little) to make up for what they did. No such luck. read more
