He passed at 6 years of age and we took him his favorite flowers and the cars he liked. These cars were the size of a matchbox. We placed a bouquet of yellow and blue flowers and we had to zip tie them together because we didn't want them to fly away. We went today and they took all his cars and for some stupid reason they took all his yellow flowers and left his blue flowers. They cut the zip ties and threw the zip ties on his grave. They discarded everything with absolutely no care. It was already a devastating loss in our lives and for them to treat my grandsons graveside like trash is ridiculous and utterly disgusting. We were planning on removing everything this Friday the 6th because they posted the next flower pick up was scheduled for March 10th through the 12th. They jumped the gun and they should have had the decency to wait a few more days and this disgusting gesture would've never happened. Very dissaapointed and sad. I myself am a Veteran of The Gulf War in the 90s and as a Disabled Lady Vet I will likely be interred here as well. I like that they give me options as I can be cremated, or have any casket I like interred here, and my husband can be buried with me. My children will have a beautiful place to visit us and their ancestors. i love that it is kept neat and tidy and the rows are very impressive. You DO have to follow their guidelines as to what can be placed with your loved ones on the graves during visits as well as what type of flowers can be left there. JUST AN FYI, do not leave anything at ANY cemetery that you will be devastated if it is stolen. I saw someone on here post that their little boys cars were taken by the grounds keepers and zip ties were left on the grave. That was more likely done by someone stealing them. I have seen it at every cemetery here in San Antonio. I have literally watched ppl steel flowers off someone's grave and put it on their loved ones. It is very disgraceful but it happens. I am a bit scared to be a lady vet buried alongside all the good ole boy vets who did not like women serving, but I served my country well and will till the day I go, not my administration, my country, my children's country, my grandchildren's country. I just hope those men don't haunt me day and night. lol.

Joseph Lopez denied a veteran his military honors because he didn't want to make a phone call. My…read moregrandfather passed away and when his son and wife went to make funeral arrangements, they informed Mr. Lopez that he had served 8 years in the military. At this point Mr.Lopez let them he would not qualify for military honors and he had 20+ years experience on the business. His experience alone being the only deciding factor of my grandfathers military honors did not sit well with me. So I called the military scheduling department and they put me in touch with JBSA (local air force who perform military honors). They walked me through filling out the applicariony and the paperwork I needed to turn in so they could verify if he qualified. A few hours later they called back and verified he did qualify, scheduled the burial date and walked me through how to obtain a burial flag. I picked up flag from my local post office and dropped off at the funeral home. I also spoke to Mr.Lopez 6 days before the burial to verify he received the flag and understood honors had been secured. At no point did he offer his condolences or apologies for not initiating the application himself. The day of the burial, when arriving to the church, the flag was no where to be found. The funeral home representative that was there informed me that military honors was not on his schedule for the day and the flag was at the funeral home. The gentleman did send someone back to retrieve the flag and it was there by the time church ceremony was over. And guess what, the detail performing the honors were waiting at the cemetery. Mr. Bobby saved the epic mess Mr. Lopez created and ultimately fumbled twice. Once by not making the initial phone call and again by not putting it on the schedule even after the flag was delivered. I hope the next veteran entrusted with Mr.Lopez is treated with more respect and dignity. At the very least i hope he finds time to make the phone call to very benefits for the grieving family instead of just taking their large check.

Dont come here if you're poor. its a lot cheaper to build a bon fire and…read morecremate the body in your own backyard instead of using the services here. if you're poor they use a program called Pauper Burial if you are using the cremation option. nothing is cheap here. you need to plan and look for cheaper methods of everything as much as you can before you are forced to settle for everything they have to offer you here. also it helps to always be in constant contact with them because they are busy almost all the time and have no time for poor people because its a rich man's world and poor people are forced to live in it and suffer the consequences of it. $1000 for a five minute viewing with the urns costing about $100+ each. even the death certificates aren't cheap and they also make you wait 8 weeks to receive them by mail. this place is a luxurious funeral home for a reason. they even give you the option of paying to put the ashes from the urn in yourself for free or you can pay them to do it for you. you're screwed either way. also remember to take everything out of your loved ones pockets and take away any personal property because it make get lost or stolen at some point. human lives and the deceased mean absolutely nothing to them because all they want is your money. also make sure the person in the coffin or the ashes you have are that of the same person.
