I've been a man on the run when it comes to dentist offices. Some were out of my insurance network, others were too far, and a few just didn't pass the vibe check. But I can finally say -- I found the one. I came in for a new patient exam and a cleaning, and from the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in the right place. I was greeted by Pearl, who was super friendly and professional right off the bat. Then I was brought back by a really kind tech (sorry I didn't catch the name!) who was patient with me while I struggled to get a few clear X-rays. Totally my fault. I was trying, I promise. Then I met Dr. Kelsey Lomen -- and yep, she is now officially my dentist. The moment I saw the Converse, I knew I was in good hands. She's professional, sweet, funny, easy to talk to, and super detailed in her exam and treatment plan. Bonus: she's got a gentle hand, which my gums definitely appreciated. Then came the cleaning with Maria, and once again -- smooth experience. Friendly, thorough, checked in with me often, and made the whole thing feel way less stressful than usual. I'm not excited about possibly needing a deep cleaning... but if it's with Maria, I know I'm good. If you're someone who dreads the dentist or just hasn't found the right fit, this office might be it. And as for me? Still not flossing daily... but at least now I feel guilty about it. read more

I give A Plus Dentist Care an A+! I recently switched dentists and had a lot of questions and concerns, and they've all been incredibly patient, kind, and thorough in answering them. I've had to visit a few times over the past few months because I came in with a few cavities and had never had fillings before. I was pretty nervous, but Dr. Dean & the team made the whole process smooth and manageable. They gave me breaks when I needed them, used numbing gel before injections to minimize discomfort, and were so calm and reassuring throughout. I'm also very health-conscious and had some questions about the materials used in a new retainer. Pearl and Logan went out of their way to help me get the information I needed to make a decision. It has been a while since I've been to the dentist because I have never been a big fan of having dental work done, but A+ Dental has been a great experience! Dr. Lomen is fantastic! She is the first dentist who has really explained the work to be done from cleaning to X-rays. I had to have a few fillings done and it was the best filling experience I've ever had, no pain and very attentive making sure I was comfortable the whole time. So this review is a a summary of two visits & a phone call.] Customer service = FIVE stars Satisfaction of treatment = FIVE stars Being new to the area I researched businesses on yelp reading EVERY SINGLE review for those with the highest ratings and came across A-Plus dental on J. So let's start with my initial contact. I first inquired insurances they accepted via Yelp message and the owner responded in less than 24 hours. That's a Great sign in my book! Unfortunately two days later I was in need of an emergency dental visit due to my healing cap falling out. Pearl, the office assistant, was kind, Compassionate and professional. Her phone etiquette alone reassured me that I selected the right dental office. She followed up with a call confirming the doctors availability to see me and to ensure they have the proper equipment to help (it was a nightmare trying to gather info from my dental office back home - but that's another story with a review to follow.) Visit1: Dr. Dean and assistant Chandron provided excellent customer service. Dr. Dean was present throughout the by being "PRESENT" meaning he listened attentively, throughly explained his plan and also gave aftercare recommendations that I should return for follow up to my original surgeon prior to the September appointment. Visit 2: Unfortunately the healing cap fell out again but they were very accommodating and I was seen immediately. This time Dr. Dean used a different tool and was successful with tightening until my appointment with the surgeon. I cannot express enough my gratitude to the team, from the owner's responsiveness, to Pearl's phone etiquette, to Chandron's close care, sanitation and cleanliness and Dr Dean's exceptional care, "bedside manner" and treatment recommendations. This was an extremely stressful time but was reassured and felt cared for by the entire dental team. I have NEVER EVER experienced such a high level of customer service and quality dental treatment in my LIFE! And trust me I've spent thousands of dollars on dental treatment! As a head-strong dentist despiser... I take this review very seriously. I've spent years and years having the worst experiences with dental offices and ever since I found A+ Dental off J Street my viewpoint has completely changed. Every single team member is kind, responsive to individual needs, nonjudgmental, and communicative. It truly feels like they are there to help. Naturally, I still hate the dentist, though the A+ dental team has provided me a space where that doesn't have to be denied or hidden. Even better, they've offered lots of strategies to cope with the discomfort. I feel very well taken care of and comfortable expressing concerns, so much so that for the first time in 20+ years I regularly visit the dentist! :o To top it all off, their Office Manager/Front Desk person is particularly great at what they do. Not everyone has dollar bills to throw at their pearly whites, nor the capacity to understand insurance complexities. This lady really takes that pressure off and does their very best to support you whatever your situation may be. I literally cannot recommend them enough. Dr. Dean is the best dentist I've ever had . He did a beautiful job fixing my teeth with Invisalign. He is kind, gentle, funny, and most importantly he knows his stuff. He asked me what I envision for my teeth and then walked me though how we could achieve that with Invisalign. I just got my final night trays and I'm so happy with the result. Dr. Dean also has amazing staff. Pearl is always so genuine and is a joy to talk to. Mary and Susan the hygienists are the best. Getting my teeth worked on makes me anxious but the staff do a great job at making me feel at ease and I know I can trust them to be gentle. An overdue review for the best dental office in the Sac area. I've been a patient of Dr. Dean since September 2019, and have nothing but amazing things to say about my Invisalign and dental treatments at A+ Dental. Street and metered parking is available nearby, but they also validate for the duration of your appointment if you park in the garage adjacent to the office. The staff at this office are professional, prompt, and thoughtful. Special thanks to Pearl at the front who has been amazing with accommodating my hectic work schedule and socially distanced appointments. Upon entry, they complete temperature checks and symptom screeners. I like that they also use single use tools and materials when applicable, and hand washing/sanitizer is available everywhere. It's mandatory to wear a face mask at all times unless receiving dental treatment. I appreciate that A+ is so very thorough with CDC and local guidelines. Ortho is partly covered through my work's dental plan, so I paid $2500 total out of pocket for the full 52+ weeks of Invisalign treatment, follow up appointments, X-rays, refinement trays, final retainers, etc. It was so worth it!!!!!!!!! I never had braces or orthodontia until 25, and it's made such a difference. For those who are unfamiliar to Invisalign, it's a system of retainers that magically change your bite, alignment, and so much more. Invisalign was originally just a cosmetic treatment, but it has relieved my TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) stress pain too. Check in for your teeth's much needed follow up after quarantine! My recent dentist didn't give me as much hope in saving my teeth, since she had said that my teeth were broken and beyond repair. But after my first visit to this place, I was literally blown away, like wow. The customer service was so perfect,, and the dentist (Henry Dean) He worked on my teeth with such precision and care and literally saved my teeth, he made sure to pay attention to every single problem. Everyone here is excellent, but I would especially like to thank Pearl for taking my call and getting me seen so quickly! I'm so happy the doctor (Dr. Dean) spent so much of his day hard at work fixing my problem in one visit! His method of explaining using illustrations on X-rays and HD pics for the why part of it was just top notch, too. All of the rest of the staff that I've encountered here have been so friendly and easy to work with that I won't be forgetting to brush and floss twice daily! Btw they take all sorts of obscure insurance, so it didn't cost much either. Thanks again you all, you're a great team! However, Dr Dean, Pearl (office manager), and Mary (hygienist) did an INCREDIBLE job making the process of getting my smile back to healthy as comfortable and smooth as possible. They had medication options to help with the panic attacks, and were happy to work around my personal coping mechanisms. When they work, they are extremely gentle and attentive to my comfort. BEWARE!! I went in for a cleaning today and have always had good experiences with Dr. Dean and his staff. When I walked in my temperature was taken and there were multiple signs stating that masks were required due to Covid. While in the waiting room, I noticed two people in the adjacent waiting room were not wearing masks. First, I asked the hygenist if she could ask them to put on a mask. She declined and got the Office Manager Pearl. Pearl took me into an office. I asked her to enforce the mask law and she said if I didn't feel comfortable she would understand if I wanted to reschedule. This was shocking to me as leading up to the appointment I received numerous confirmations outlining all of the steps they were taking to make patients feel comfortable and safe because of Covid. Unfortunately, they've lost a patient because of their unsafe practices and disregard for people who are considerate of others. read more
