I went in on a whim to try a new place after one place I went to in Bloomington was closed early for some reason. I definitely needed a pedicure, and left feeling so refreshed. I was so lucky to meet Alina, she gave to me the best pedicure of my life. The massage chair was an added bonus and the whole place is super clean and perfect. Alina by far went above and beyond providing me the most exceptional and greatest pedicure ever. I will try visit her at least once a month. I don't see myself ever going anywhere else! read more

I just got back from there and got a pedicure for an upcoming vacation. I have been there before and have always done an ok job. I got the man again. He's done mine before but I didn't care for his work. He's a bit rough and never says a word. This time he cut one of my big toenail so low on one side that it looks ridiculous. So you know when you're like 14 and you go over to someone else's house to eat...and the food is OK, not good not bad just OK. ...that's A Plus nails. Like I can't tell you anything fabulous about it - but I could be tempted for seconds if bored enough. Was open until 5pm on a Sunday and they took us at 4:15 pm - we finished just after 5pm. A regular pedicure was $34 something after tax - $38 something after tip. At nearly $4 a toe - it's a rare treat for me. Seemed clean enough, they were professional - I do wish they would have massaged the feet a bit harder / more - but 80% of the time most of us get a pedicure to get someone else to do the digging we don't want to and to sit in the chair for 45 minutes. So, I've been coming here for many years and have never been disappointed. I used to get my fingernails done but quit on account of truly not caring anymore but they always looked fabulous when Kim and her staff did them. Now I just go for pedicures and let me tell you..... my toenails are an embarrassment, I barely have big toenails. They know exactly what to do. They make my feel look presentable and beautiful and not the nubs that I know they really are. Don't let that one bad review scare you, I have a suspicion that that terrible manicure was a home job that they just wanted to bring A+ down. I have NEVER had a bad experience. read more

I live in the area and can't believe I just discovered this gem. They're so sweet and accommodating at this nail salon. They took such good care of my little sister and left us both with amazing manis/pedis. The ladies did such a great job at applying everything and our nails look great, even days after our appointments. Just remember that like most places, they charge 3.99% if you use a credit card (debit cards not included). My only gripe is that I wish they didn't reuse used slippers and toe spacers. I don't want to have to lug around my own flip flops. read more

I made her an appointment for a dip polish manicure, and when I dropped her off, she and I both told the nail tech to do a plain dip polish manicure no tips. When I left for a little while the lady kept asking my daughter if she wanted her nails longer and she kept saying no. She just wanted a dip polish manicure. Also watched a customer walk in and was told to come back the next day, the next customer was taken, the next customer was told to come back in an hour and 5 min later they took another walk in client.It made no sense to me. My mom raves about this salon but the first time I went I was not impressed. My aunt, cousin and I got manicures. They had good experiences. I sat down at a station with a towel laid out covered in someone else's fingernail clippings. The technician doing my nails didn't seem to care and continued with my manicure. I have had much better manicures elsewhere and the nail clippings were a major turn off for me. My mom recently dragged me there to get mother-daughter manicures and it was like a totally different salon. I had a great experience. My technician was nice, I was pleased with my manicure and everything seemed clean. I think the big difference was that we went early on the morning after they had just opened and the last time I went was later in the day after they had been open for quite some time and were probably busy all day. I would recommend coming here earlier after they open to get a manicure because they seem to be less busy and more focused at that time. read more

The shop is very clean...they use liners in their pedi tubs, offer beverages & I really appreciated the sign on their front desk that stated their place has been inspected by the health dept & if you wanted to read the report, please ask. However, the friendly woman who did my pedicure didn't use enough coats of polish & a few days later, I had missing polish on two toes. read more

I have only good things to say about A Plus Nails. The salon staff are great, always wanting things to be just as you like. For the past two years I've had a few times but it is always worth it. I prefer pink and white fill with Kim and their pedicures are perfect. It's very clean and they are constantly upgrading to make the experience more enjoyable. I've had to wait a couple times or chose to make an appointment to come at another time. They can't predict the amount of walk-ins but they try to accommodate everyone. I've been here multiple times and they have repeatedly had poor customer service. Appointments aren't taken seriously and they had me wait over 20 minutes when I called and told them ahead of time that I had work. They also blame the customer for their mistakes. She shaved down my nails and hit my skin multiple times and made me bleed. She said that I was moving and that was why when it was clearly her mistake. This is the worst salon I've ever been to. The people working and the owner are incredibly rude. They talk and laugh at you right in front of you (trust me, even though I can't understand them, it's patently obvious). You tell them what you want and they ignore it and do what they want (I wanted an acrylic fill, they started doing dip - when I told them I had said acrylic, they ROLLED their eyes and told me it was too late!). Another time, after a fill, 6 of my nails started chipping and falling off after 2 days. I wasn't able to go in for a few days, but I called and told them that I expected them to fix their shoddy work for free, and they fully agreed. When they took off my nail polish, 8 nails had MOLD under the acrylic!!! That has NEVER happened before, and they blamed me for it!! They removed them all and redid them. They then proceeded to charge me the full price less $10 dollars. I told them I had called and they had confirmed it would be free. She said because it was my fault (HOW???), they were nice to give me $10 off. I disgustingly paid and told them I would never be back. I'm thinking I need to report them for their unsanitary work and their fraudulent business practices. Avoid at all costs! read more

Today I made an appointment for my 84 year old husband for a toe nail cut, clearly telling the phone person I wanted the $8.. cut only, not the $25.00 pedicure. I parked in front and gave him the money plus a 20% tip and let him go in alone while I waited, a little dignity and something he can do. I did not count on the nail person talking him into the $25.00 service, he has no idea what she was talking about. So he tried to pay and they said not enough money. I went back in then to clear up what clearly as their error! I phone called and ordered the service we wanted. Not any effort to accommodate to right their wrong. I would give a minus star if possible. That bait and switch is not how we do business. We won't be back and will tell others our experience. Went to this nail place since it was close to my boyfriends house. I usually go to a place in Shakopee, but I was staying at his place and wanted to get a full set and pedi. It ended up being $105! I did gel polish on my hands and feet. The gel on my fingers chipped after less than a day! I went back and they fixed it free of charge. It is now less than a week later and the same nail has chipped and the gel pulled off of the nail, and ANOTHER 2 fingers have chipped and gel is either peeling or gone! So disappointed. Horrible experience! Arrived right when they opened, was the second person there. The tech started with the removal of my gel using the acetone wraps, then went over to a new client who arrived after me with no appointment. She said she would be right back. After 20 minutes with acetone still on my fingers I spoke up. The employees spoke to each other then laughed. After 25 min, I removed the wraps and walked out. My fingers hurt... it was the worst experience I have ever had there or anywhere. My regular gel manicures will now be done elsewhere. This service was really unexceptable. I was in town for a wedding and came here. I overheard them offer water to other patrons which would have been nice, but she never offered me anything. The woman doing my nails was really pushing for me to do gel. I said no thank you a number of times, only for her to bring the colors over for me to look at. I humored her by doing so, but told her I wanted to stick to the color I chose. She then brought out that sander tool that I've seen used on fake nails. She told me that my nails were uneven and that this would make them smooth. I said no thank you and that it was how my nails grew in. I'm perfectly fine with the imperfect smoothness of my nail. Well she wasn't and went ahead and began to shave down my nail (along the bottom). I asked her to stop (it hurt) which she did, but still doesn't no, mean no? When it was time to pay I hand her a $20 for the $15 manicure. For change she hands me a $5. A bit presumptuous to assume a $5 tip for a $15 manicure if you ask me. I asked for singles and I think she pretended not to hear me. Thankfully I had singles in my wallet. Finally when it came time to dry she didn't help me with my bag or walk me to the dryers. I figured out where to go on my own with my bag. Good thing I won't ever have a reason to go back there. More like D+ nails. read more

TERRIBLE! I've visited this nail salon with great service in the past but things have really changed. The last two visits they had me sitting for 45 minutes + without letting me know about the long wait time. This last visit sealed the deal for me. I wasn't offered a pedicure package (there are several to choose from- the lady seemed like she was rushing), a beverage like everyone else and when I left the nail polish was completely smudged. I had a non-gel French pedicure for under $32.00 (before tip) because they offer five dollars off Mon-Wed but I can't recall if that was just on a pedicure or either a mani or pedi. Happy that they were open on Memorial Day as a another salon I wanted to go to was closed. Yay for an employer that cares about their employees, boo for those of us with nasty feet. WARNING- they have dramatically raised their prices and do so with out warning so when you go to pay and are in shock, they try to give you a $20 gift card. I don't want a gift card because I will never go back. Additionally, the quality is bad which makes the price increase even more unjustifiable.
