As a single mom, getting my nails done is a huge deal now...I budget weeks in advance for such a luxury. Exotic nails by the Mexican restaurant is my new go to. They seem clean (the new owner says she is making upgrades to be much more COVID cautious). Going to be too honest - I get a pedicure for someone else to pick out ingrown and file my tired feet and draw the whites on a French . They did both decent. BUT let's just :::pause::: to look at the outstanding nail art!! I wish I could budget for the long nail luxury - but Ivy fine lined a little doodle on mine just neat. Try them out! I've been serviced by every person here. Only let Sammy or Vanessa service you. Runnnn if the old man wants to do your service. They have a newer lady with glasses that's not great neither. Not to mention Henry gives mediocre pedicures, as if he's scared to massage you and skimps out on nailcare. Vanessa is out currently, so someone else did my pedicure yesterday. Exotic nails is only good if you're getting a basic polish or aren't critical of nails. Let's just say I had to go to a different salon today to get what I really wanted. I've come here close to a dozen times and will continue to return for the dip manicure. This is the only place in a 15 mile radius that I get what I pay for when it comes to dip and the longevity! Its an investment and I personally feel that it should last, at minimum, 3 weeks if not longer. Since coming to Exotic Nails and having Sam as my nail tech - I've yet to be disappointed. My dip polish is lasting 4+ weeks and I'm generally only going in because I want a new color and my cuticles attended to. Although I don't do much for design on my nails, I've seen the creative work they do and it's beautiful!! The pedicures are good too however this is the only place ironically that the regular nail polish chips on my toes quickly. So unless I get Lien as my nail tech for my pedicures, I tend to go to another shop. 12/10 recommendation! When you're done stop over to Thai Pepper or El Loro for lunch or dinner :) Great read more

I wanted to treat myself and my mother while I was in town from Wisconsin (she lives right around the corner). She mentioned she saw a new place advertised on the receipt from the grocery store around the corner, and we should check them out. Alex was accommodating when making our appointments, and we really enjoyed our experience. The salon is beautiful, and the color options are plentiful. Alex was friendly and talkative and did a wonderful job on my manicure. Not to mention - they do body waxing... and I'm not just talking eyebrows. Alex offers a brazilian wax for ONLY $45!!! Pretty unheard of! She does armpits, backs, and bikini as well. Awesome deals, awesome people - new spot! read more

I went here for the first time last week to get a gel manicure. I picked out a pastel purple for my color and we got started. The nail technician was very friendly but unfortunately he didn't do a great job... First off, the color turned out much more pink than the purple I thought I was getting. The color wasn't applied evenly and the gel was clearly bumpy on 2 of my nails. I've now had the gel manicure for a week and it has gotten worse. The color is changing and with the color change, I can see plenty more bumps and an overall unevenness of the gel. Sadly, I won't be returning. read more

I am so impressed with this place. My husband and I had a last minute decision to get a pedicure. We called around due to COVID. We were able to get same day appointment and had it scheduled for 5pm. We were thinking of canceling because we were running late, but they were so accommodating to switch it to 530pm. Thank you for doing that..and so close to closing time. Instead of rushing to do their work, they paid attention to detail. The massage was so lovely. I feel so refreshed after the session...my toes and feet thank you for making us pretty. I love Mary and the family team! I found this salon by accident one evening when I needed a nail appointment at 7:00pm. I went in and was greeted by Dave who did my pedicure and nails, and who also stayed until 9:00pm to finish my nails when they closed at 8:00pm. I went back for a nail repair a week later with Mary and found my new nail person. Mary follows direction well and is able to make sure my nails are exactly the way I like them. I wear my natural nails typically with dip powder or dip with gel over it and my nails have never been healthier since I found Mary. They stay open late for me whenever I need them to and I can almost always get an appointment with Mary when I need one. Kim is now here doing pedicures and I love her techniques. I have brought many family members and some friends with me to this salon and will keep driving out 40 minutes to see them. The refreshments, the care, and the personalized experience is phenomenal. They all know my family and ask about them when I stop in. They know when I'm working on something new and inquire about it. The quality of the service I receive is worth every mile (and all the traffic too). read more

First of all, you walk in and the floor looks like it's in the process of being redone (or like you're in the 'hood). Don't fool yourself, it's probably not being done, because the floor has been in this condition for at least three years. So right away, you might feel uncomfortable because that doesn't exactly make it a spa like atmosphere. Today, I went in for manicure and pedicure and ended up only having the pedicure because the woman giving me the pedicure was driving me nuts. She didn't put separators between my toes or put flip flops on my feet before the nail polish, and seemed very unsure of herself. She continually got up and either got other supplies or asked someone else that worked there a question. It ended up taking so long, I didn't want to risk having a similar experience with the manicure. I learned today that you get what you pay for. You may pay slightly more for a manicure and pedicure, but you get a better value at Venice Nails or Nails of Eden. read more

Stay away from this place. I have been here several times in the past, but this place has gone down hill!! First the water was freezing cold. It is winter I was hoping for a warm pedicure. They had to empty tub and start over with warm water. They have 4 pedicures. Did not bother to ask which one I wanted and did basic. Before I knew it they were done and painting color. Too late to upgrade!! I was planning on manicure and pedicure. When done with feet didn't even ask about nails and put me in uncomfortable chair and dryer. Sure there are elongated elaborate rituals that are drawn out for more money at pricier salons, but this is BAR NONE one of the cleanest, friendliest, most polished (no pun) nail-oriented businesses I've ever been in. I went in not really knowing exactly what I wanted. They didn't really help me figure it out just tell me I was wrong when I described what I wanted. I then found out the guy I started out with doesn't do gel or fake nails and I had to wait for Mary (who is actually SUPER nice). So already started off on a bad foot. Mary was able to do the design I wanted which was great, but the gel turned out really thick and not blended very well so it becomes EXTREMELY obvious they are fake which really sucks. I'm an out of towner that needed a pedicure. The lady I had rushed the entire time. Message was less than a minute per leg. I'm pregnant and was looking forward to a foot massage! She heavily applied the polish, quickly. It looks like an amateur painted my toes. Also, not very sanitary. They washed the toenail clippers used on me in cool water for a few seconds then used them on somebody's fingernails. Can't believe I paid $25 for this. read more

So I just went this past memorial day and it wasn't busy at all so I thought oh this will be great! The atmosphere was perfect. I got a pedicure and full set. First, my pedicure chair, massage, and customer friendliness was fantastic. Although, when my french tip was done it looked super sloppy and I would have done better myself to be honest. My full set was horrible. My cuticles bled which never happened before and the shape wasn't smoothed out enough. The tips were all also cricked. My nails are actually already coming apart too. I had to file as much as I could at home. read more

Keep in mind that if you want stiletto acrylics it is $5 extra. They didn't say that on their site. But the workers are super friendly and I like how my nails look. If you don't get gel I recommend staying under the heating lamp longer than 15 min. Your nails won't be as dry as you'd want them to be. read more

I had a great experience. They did my French manicure by hand and it was fabulous. Great customer service and well priced.

Visiting from out of town, this was the worst pedicure I've ever had. My feet were very damaged from the tools and techniques used. I've had open cracks despite twice daily moisturizing treatments and painful bleeding. I would not recommend this place and I would suggest that the health department evaluate what is going on there. read more

This was the worst manicure of my life. First of all, the nail artist was very rough and my nails hurt for days. Also she had a cut on her finger and did not put a bandaid on! For standard cleanliness and health, this is not ok. Also they charged an extra $5 to trim my cuticles. I thought this was the most basic part of "getting my nails done". The selfish side of my was not going to post anything because I feel Exotic Nails is a hidden gem but I had to share because the ladies here are so lovely. I love this place! My sister and I randomly found Exotic Nails after being snubbed by a different salon near by. We were frustrated but quickly learned it was a blessing in disguise! We called, got in right away, and loved our time. Gel mani/reg pedi for $50...amazing for the Minnneapolis area! I also learned from going back to have another gel mani that they leave on a thin layer rather than grinding all the way down to the nail, which always ruined mine in the past. Their technique has helped my nails grow longer and stronger quickly. But none of this is truly why I l-o-v-e this place. It's the customer service. Sheila and Alex are my favorites but friends have worked with others and all have been satisfied. Recently, I didn't love the color on my nails, it was very transparent. I called, Sheila got me in the next day and fixed it for me free of charge. She was extremely grateful I called and expressed my feelings. She was nothing but kind and helpful. Communication, service, and atmosphere is wonderful. How someone has had a bad experience is hard to beleive, but to each their own! read more

I went here to get an acrylic fill since the salon I usually go to couldn't get me in. What a complete waste of money! My nails look terrible and will now have to pay more money to have someone else fix them. The guy that did them seemed like he was in a hurry and just wanted to get out of there. Nothing seemed to be sanitary, he'd use the drill bits and then just stick it back in the container without soaking/sanitizing them. On top of it he sliced my skin under my nail which was bleeding! I'm nervous for infection because they didn't seem to follow rules and regulations that are put in place for these types of places. Do not waste you time here, it's disgusting! read more

I was looking forward to giving this nail salon a try. The building is light, and clean. The staff were friendly for the most part. However, I was disappointed in the services I received. During my pedicure, my technician was more engaged in a side conversation than on what she was doing. Resulting in her puting her elbow in my wet polish. During my manicure, she used the dremel to remove gel from my existing manicure. It was painful. The shape and tips of my french manicure are inconsistent and messy. I went in with healthy nails, now even with the gel, my nails are thin and pliable. Three days after receiving my manicure, I have to cut my nails back. read more
