It was only AFTER that I found out that they have another location in Uptown, a mile from my house. Apparently they've been in the shopping center across from the Broadway post office for about four years now, but I never had a clue. I liked this location more not just because of the convenience factor of being in my neighborhood, but also because it's a lot more comfortable to shop. The aisles were much larger so you weren't squeezing by folks when trying to see all the goodies. The produce and fish/meat sections also seem much larger. So overall the store has a bigger footprint than the one in Chinatown. They also had merchandise at this store that I didn't see at the other, such as woks, bowls, and other such items. Parking is so-so. The parking lot itself isn't necessarily small, but there's a lot of businesses that share this lot and some of the spots are marked specifically for those businesses. For instance, the medical office here has about 10 spaces that are for their patients only. But given the location it's within a few blocks of the Wilson station, the Argyle station, and (when renovation is complete) the Lawrence station, as well as the bus lines, so there's lots of options for getting here if driving isn't your choice.

The location is extremely convenient. The minute you walk out of the Kedzie Brown Line stop you make a right and you're there. There's parking, which is good to know. It took over 50 minutes to get here on the train. It might be a lot faster if I drive, so I'm glad there's parking at least. The grocery store is huge and has a variety of Middle Eastern and Turkish goods. I bought several cheeses, from Kashkaval to Halloumi and most importantly my Labne! The meat looked extremely fresh, but I wasn't going to risk dragging it on the train with me all the way back to downtown, but I'll definitely keep that in mind if I drive back there. The isles are organized and neat. There's also a mini bakery in the store and it has delicious sweets and lots and lots of fresh bread. They also have the famous Middle Eastern Mankushe (thyme and cheese flavors)! I wanted to buy so many more things but there's only so much I can carry with me. The employees were super helpful and helped find a few things I needed. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is because there were some expired items in the fridge, but nothing that drastic! Till next time!

I was impressed they had refrigerated VitaSoy soy milk available in the food court. They had a lot of grab-n-go items, which could be convenient, e.g., for a working professional. I liked that they had good-looking fresh produce, e.g., bell peppers. They also had a substantial amount of tofu. Gagnam Market had cool lighting. One could park very close to the store and do a voucher deal with them. It was fairly simple when I did it.

While it might not excel in all areas, a visit here is definitely enjoyable and a reasonable value. This is with the assumption that one can be in and out within a 2 hour time limit for free parking (which can tack an extra $20 onto the budget). The selection here is fairly good, for a spot outside of the enormous Asian Markets available in the suburbs, with fairly reasonable prices. The interior is very nice, definitely social media worthy (probably the biggest reason to visit) -- with a food court that's definitely above average for a market. The food here isn't cheap, but also not unreasonable and overall of fairly good quality and variety. Overall, definitely a must visit for tourism purposes and still a pretty good choice for shopping and delicious dining if you live anywhere nearby. The market is clean, well organized, and well lit.

After reviewing Google, we found out they have sashimi platter deals Wednesdays and Fridays for just $30. Given that sushi prices in Chicago are at a premium, we opted to go for this deal and make our own sushi at home. It was awesome: salmon, tuna, and around three other types of fish served on top of julienned radish. They gave pickled ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce as well but only one of each. (I would pick up more in store, along with nori and rice vinegar if you want to make rolls). I imagine using this fish for a poke bowl would be fantastic. The platters are a first come first serve item, so be aware of this should you want to get it like we did. We honestly didn't have any issues purchasing on a Friday.

The tiny store is packed, but the produce and seafood are as fresh as they can be. We stopped by the snack corner in the back for a quick lunch on our way to the airport. For only $12 I got a massive bowl of sullongtang packed with cuts of beef that never seemed to end. At its price point I was expecting to get a bowl of just broth, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it was packed with protein. The side dishes were crunchy and tasty. Even though I was devouring my food, I ended up not being able to finish the mountain of rice they gave me. I highly recommend coming to do your shopping on an empty stomach so you can fill up on a delicious and affordable meal in the back first! Even though we were very full, we still wanted to try the mandu stand in the front of the store. We picked up some steamed pork buns and red bean buns on our way out. The pork buns had a milder/lighter seasoning so they would go really well with a spicy or salty sauce. I liked how the red bean buns were not too sweet. Both buns were hefty and could be a meal on their own.
