Stopped by on my way out of Chicago for a quick bite. This was such a cool place! The have plenty of options when it comes to order. They also sell poke bowls in the shopping market if you wanted to get more grocery items as well. They have such a variety of items and everything is fairly priced. Parking around the area is metered but plenty of parking around the area at least for a Tuesday. Everyone was nice and service was quick and easy to order.

Though there are areas of improvement that could make this a better experience for visitors, I think the overall offering is unique and definitely worth a visit for any Chicagoan. While it might not excel in all areas, a visit here is definitely enjoyable and a reasonable value. This is with the assumption that one can be in and out within a 2 hour time limit for free parking (which can tack an extra $20 onto the budget). The selection here is fairly good, for a spot outside of the enormous Asian Markets available in the suburbs, with fairly reasonable prices. The interior is very nice, definitely social media worthy (probably the biggest reason to visit) -- with a food court that's definitely above average for a market. The food here isn't cheap, but also not unreasonable and overall of fairly good quality and variety. Overall, definitely a must visit for tourism purposes and still a pretty good choice for shopping and delicious dining if you live anywhere nearby. The market is clean, well organized, and well lit.

Gangnam Market is my new go to spot for asian snacks in Chicago. Full service grocery store + asian food court + full bar all in one spot. The vibes are so cool too. Loved the neon lights. Everything here is SO reasonably priced compared to 88 Marketplace. 4 bags of chips for $10 is actually a steal. They have all the fun snacks too like Pocky, Asian Lays flavors, Shin Ramyun, Bing Chillin Bites, Aiko Fruit Bucket, and so many drinks and candies I haven't seen at other grocery stores. Definitely one of the best spots in Chicago for snacks rn.

This market was very organized and clean, with helpful staff. I was very happy that my niece took me there to explore the place. I went to buy a specific ice cream for them, and we all ended up treating ourselves. It was so delicious that I would definitely go back to try different flavors.

My husband and I went to Gangnam Market to meet a friend for lunch. They have a grocery section but we went to the food court area to get lunch. We ate at the Market Sushi, Without Rice, and Matt Bakes food stands. At Market Sushi, we had the chirashi don. At Without Rice we had the domestic wagyu combo donburi. And at Matt Bakes we had the chocolate chip cookie. The food quality was good and the price was reasonable but the best part was the variety of food that is available. We did not go into the grocery section. The bathroom was overcrowded and kinda dirty.

We found about this place on TikTok, which prompted us to check it out during our visit to Chicago. Gangnam Market is fairly new and described as an American-Asian hybrid, featuring both a grocery store and a food hall. There's also a bar within the food hall area, along with a section of toy capsule vending machines. The market itself is a decent size, though the food hall portion is on the smaller side. The space is vibrant, clean, and inviting--you can easily find yourself spending a good amount of time here. I recommend walking through every aisle, as there are plenty of hidden gems and items you won't typically find at more common Asian markets. While the adults grabbed drinks, the kids enjoyed browsing around. There are pre-packaged meals as well as hot food options if you're on the go. The food was just okay for me, but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Overall, it's a nice spot to check out if you're in the area, especially if you have kids who are into K-pop or enjoy exploring fun, trendy markets.

This place is so cute and nice so many food options either Asian or American as well. Their food court they also have sushi and I would say their lunch special is such a deal. They have 90minute complimentary parking which you would scan the barcode at the register. I came here a couple of times but would say the fruits and vegetables some of them don't look fresh at all especially the watercress. But overall they have wide collections of desserts and tried their viral ice cream and it was good.

Such a great market. It's filled with a variety of different snacks, chips, desserts, and pastries that you can't find at any regular market. It is super clean and well organized and everything is labeled very well. I love coming here and trying items that I've never had before.

Seasonal pizzas for both and it's pretty good. Total came to about $30 for the 2. It's definitely unique, never had these flavors in pizza before. Love detroit style so i think it was perfect base for the toppings. Was like a 15ish minute wait for these

Absolutely incredible, I will be back! They made the best matcha I've ever had, with fresh mango chunks at the bottom (not a syrup that doesn't really taste like mango). I loved the pork bun from the bakery and the bulgogi bowl was NEXT LEVEL. The wait isn't very long and staff are very nice and helpful. The vibe is so cool, I wish I had more time to explore the grocery area as I'm sure they have some cool snacks. Gangnam Market is a new Chicago favorite!

THE BIG: Korean market in the Chinatown area of Chicago. There's a bigger market in River West that looks super vibey. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here on a Sunday afternoon walking around waiting for our dumpling reservation to call us back. Fortunately there's so much to do in Chinatown and the Gangnam Market was one of them. Walking in, you're hit with a ton of colors and korean/japanese items to buy. In the back they have a freezer full of treats. There was this one lady that was guarding the mango popsicles and selling them for $7 each. I didn't know better and bought one. It was good but definitely not $7 good. I later saw a 3 pack in an asian grocery store for $9. Womp THE FINAL BAMBOO: For the Tik Tok famous mango popsicle, we spent $7 for this little thing. Definitely do not recommend doing that but it was for the virality. Come for the other parts of the market though.

Was so stoked this place was walking distance from our hotel in Chicago! I had seen so many videos of the fruit icecream here and convinced my bf to walk there with me to try it out. We had a concert later that day so we grabbed some nigiri as our meal and then tried the peach and mango icecream! Both were so good! I think the mango was my favorite though. This place was so fun though. Besides having a cute food court they also had a store full of all the Asian goodies. Wish i could go there all the time! I saw produce, snacks, drinks, etc. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're ever in the area!

Stopped into the food court for a quick dinner. Ordered the taco trio (spicy chicken, spicy pork and beef bulgogi) for $12.95 at the Gangnam Taco stand. The service was quick and friendly and the tacos were amazing!! The 3 meats had wonderful flavor, with the beef bulgogi being my favorite. The gochujang mayo was such a great accompaniment. Will definitely be back to have these again and maybe also try the flaming hot Cheeto corn dog.

Does anyone knows if this market is a pet-friendly?

I saw 2 separate people with pretty large dogs walking around the store. So I assume it is! I did not pay attention if there was a No Dogs sign on the door though. I love seeing pet friendly establishments.

On a recent work trip to Chicago, I had the chance to experience all of Eataly's offerings. During…read moremy first visit, I picked up some sweet treats to enjoy after dinner. First, I explored the endless snack aisles and selected a bag of chocolate-hazelnut biscuits to take home. I couldn't resist the gelato and tried the pistachio flavor (yum!) On my next visit to Eataly a couple of days later, I ordered a cappuccino, and while my beverage took a long time to prepare, the espresso tasted very high quality. The pastries looked stunning and decadent, and I imagine they'd pair wonderfully with espresso if you have time to linger at the cafe (I was in a hurry to get to a work meeting). The next day, my team and I visited Eataly's restaurant for lunch. I selected the anchovy toast as my starter and the gnocchi for my main as part of the lunch special. The toast consisted of two slices of sourdough bread topped with creamy lemon spread and anchovies. The contrast of the bright lemon flavor with the ultra-salty anchovies was tempered by the creamy butter - these all paired together quite well. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The gnocchi was much too soft (it had the texture of mashed potatoes), and the red sauce was bland. All in all, visiting Eataly was a cool way to experience gourmet Italian food.

The event…read moreitself I wouldn't recommend - they give you tiny sample portions of preselected items on paper hotdog containers. Considering this place is supposed to have some class, we were pretty appalled that they seemed to do the bare minimum for this event. I felt very deceived by how this event was advertised online vs in real life. It seems they intentionally left out details and was marketed as five tastings at five counters, but we receieved barely a sample at each sation. The website said 1. house made pasta - you have one option and it was three bites, no vegetarian option 2. roman-style pizza - only thing I won't complain about although still a small portion 3. Curated drink from Caffe Lavazza - this was a dixie cup portion of a blended Frappuccino 4. house made pastry - they gave you the option of literal bite sized dessert, not a whole pastry 5. the artisanal salumi and formaggi - pathetic, literally 1 piece of meat, three pieces of the same type of cheeses, three olives, and dry stale crackers. Honestly for what they offer this was a slap in the face and from a consumer perspective Eataly's attempt at a summer money making scheme. I would find it hard to believe anyone who rave about this event, in fact I imagine most left very underwhelmed and still hungry. Eataly itself might be a great experience but we did not have the opportunity. We enjoyed the spritz drinks we ordered for their $9 summer special but this event did not make me want to return at all. It unfortunately dangled everything they could have offered in front of us, but then gave us the lowest tier. Driving in traffic to do this was not worth the time, gas, parking or inconvenience and the best part of our city night was when we stepped out of Eataly.

Food court is ok and can be crowded at times. ===== A bit of a trek from downtown, but sadly I think this is the closest East Asian grocery store to the loop. It can be pretty crowded in here at peak times. Good selection of produce, dried goods, sauces, snacks, meat etc. they also have a nice section of fish cakes and fish balls as well as sashimi and other sushi-making ingredients. My favorite things to buy here are produce, tteok, rice, and overpriced kimbap (~9$+ per roll). Things here are generally pretty pricy compared to other shops out in Chinatown or in the suburbs. My beloved Joong Boo shall remain first in my heart over this place since it's much more reasonably priced, and the food court is better. They do have some good deals here that you can find on their weekly flyer. Food court is ok and has SGD tofu house which is my go-to, a fried chicken and corn dog place, and some other place I forgot that was probably meh. Staff are very friendly and things here are generally well-organized and easy to find. There's a Paris Baguette, too, which is often out of many kinds of bread if you go in the later afternoon.

The grocery store is huge and has a variety of Middle Eastern and Turkish goods. I bought several cheeses, from Kashkaval to Halloumi and most importantly my Labne! The meat looked extremely fresh, but I wasn't going to risk dragging it on the train with me all the way back to downtown, but I'll definitely keep that in mind if I drive back there. They also have the famous Middle Eastern Mankushe (thyme and cheese flavors)! I wanted to buy so many more things but there's only so much I can carry with me. The employees were super helpful and helped find a few things I needed. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is because there were some expired items in the fridge, but nothing that drastic!
