I have only been here for an estimate as of yet. Rene was extremely nice and courteous. Explained the process to me, offered different options with the expectations of each, and we even had a nice chat about unrelated topics. What more do you want? Yes, he had the best price in town. I definitely want to come back to him once my issue is settled with insurance. I already recommended him to my friends and they took their cars there. While I was there, I saw a nice lady come over the shop and gave Rene a cake she baked and asked him to share it with his team. Let's try again here as yelp deleted the first review. When I first went to A Quality, Rene was not there but I spoke to Ichung who went out of his way to make me feel welcome. I left with a quote that was the best in the county. After speaking to a number of autoshops that don't do completes, Rene was happy to help out. They worked out as I worked around the corner and they didn't mind me coming by to review the progress. A week or so later, they had removed all the dings and dents from college appt living, primered, blocked the whole car and had painted the whole car. It was beautiful. They had attention to detail that I did not see with two other paint shops I worked with in the past (one in SLO and one in the Bay Area). They even spent a whole day buffing the whole car out. I am a car fanatic, so when my dog scratched the sides of my brand new car I didn't know where to go! Rene and Johnny did a excellent job. I brought it back at their insistence to touch up any imperfections..which they did! However, in the touch up portion of the job, they left my car with swirls as a result of a chemical application! They scheduled another appointment requiring special pads and tools that Rene the owner finished the job to perfection! So why 5 stars you might ask? Rene does shit work and won't stand behind his jobs. I took my vehicle there for one side to be painted and got it back with a lot of orange-peel after taking back to him three different times. He worked on it but gave up after he realized he was going to have to more time into it to get it right but that would cost him money so he said that's all he was going to do, you're going to have to live with it. What a piss poor attitude to have when your job is to PAINT cars. Avoid, avoid, avoid or live with a shitty paint job!!! read more

Turning an unfortunate experience (my fender bender) into a good experience was my experience at A Quality Auto Body. It's a smaller shop, but the work they preformed for my Volvo was perfect. I had tailgate gate damage to my V70 wagon. They quoted me the best price out of two other shop estimates. The paint match was excellent as was the detail to the body repair. I was also impressed that the job was completed when promised. Though what struck me how incredibly nice everybody was. I spoke mainly to the big bald guy, Johnny - he was great. We wanted to have our Mitisubishi eclipse repainted. Everything started off fine - they were friendly and worked with me on the pricing. But it took them an extra 4 days to finish the job. We started getting phone calls daily that it was just about finished but would just need another few hours. Then they would call again and keep delaying the process. After the first couple times we started to get nervous that something had gone wrong and they weren't telling us. Finally we got our car back only to find the driver door handle broken. They denied that they touched it and didn't want to help with replacement costs at first. But after calling back to check with us they agreed to cover the $50 cost and promptly sent a check. Other than that the quality of the paint job was great - we've gotten a number of compliments. read more

Can't recommend enough. My car is old so it was very difficult to find parts after a collision. I Everywhere else quoted me more than $1,500 over what Rene charged me. Because the new parts were going to be newly painted he cut me a deal on painting the whole car and took all the dents out without me even asking. And I had a lot of dents since it was so old. All I know is that if my car ever needed to be fixed I would definitely take it to A QUALITY body shop, I meet RENE (OWNER) at the Goleta DMV, we began talking, we both had been there about an hour, another person was with our group, he had been in line since 6:A.M. we all had made small talk, as it turned out that person needed $38.00 to renew his license, DMV only takes cash, RENE the owner of A QUALITY, said how much do u need? And RENE PULLS OUT his wallet, gives the man he just met the money, $38.00... I thought wow what a nice person to do that, and if RENE treats a person that he just met like that, can only imagine if I was one of his customers!! I have been to this place twice now with my 2015 Dodge Challenger. The first time i went there was when i got backed into at a parking lot and the driver left without leaving there information, my bumper was popped off of my car and they popped it back in no problem and even fixed the Taillight. They then offered me a great estimate for the paint damage which i should have taken. Unfortunately, i have Geico so i still had to go to Prestigious Auto Body to get the Geico estimate done and Geico convinced me that i should get the work done there instead since it would be easier with my insurance. In the end i wish i would have gone to A Quality since Prestigious didn't do that great of a job on my car and A Quality had already been extremely helpful with the damage they could fix without any major work (popping the bumper and the taillight back into place). Fast forward about 6 or 7 months later to today and my car got dinged by what appears to be a car door. The damage was very minimal, but being that my car is a lease i was worried about being charged for it. When i brought it in to A Quality they told me that my lease likely covers up to $800 worth of damage and that they could charge me to fix it but it wouldn't be worth it for me. They said if i really wanted to get it fixed hold off for a while and just get it fixed at the end before i return the car. This is the type of honesty that is rare to find around here. If i do decide to get the dents fixed before returning my car or if my car receives any further damage while i have it will definitely be taking it to A Quality, and i suggest that any one else in need of body works brings their car there as well. read more

Had my first accident a while ago and got my car fixed here and feel so lucky to have found this place! My car had damage on front left headlight that ran down the passenger side door along and to the rims with a couple other internal damages from the accident. They were extremely helpful and explained all my options to me patiently and honestly. They kept me updated during the entire process and the car looked 100% new again when I got it back! I decided to have my 1997 Chevy S10 repainted, no body work, no change of paint color. I went to an auto body shop I had used previously that did a great job for me. They declined to do a paint job where there was no body work to be done. They recommended A Quality Auto Body & Paint (AQABP) for the paint job. AQABP quoted a cost of $3,000 to be completed in 7 or 8 days "or sooner". Took the S10 in on 9/1/14. Several days later AQABP called advising the 3rd brake light on the center rear of the cab needed to be replaced at a cost of $144. I agreed to this repair. Subsequently I received a call from AQABP advising the exterior rearview mirror on the passenger side door broke off and would be an additional $156 to repair bringing the total to $3,300. I agreed to this repair. On 9/11/14, I was told the S10 was ready. As I was writing the check to pay, I was told that the exterior rearview mirror on the driver's side door broke off. They did a temporary fix until a replacement could be obtained which AQABP agreed to pay for. Got the S10 home and attempted to open the 3rd door (cargo door) but the handle was broken. Called AQABP, they suggested I broke it or it must have been broken before I took the S10 in to be painted. I know this was not the case. I realized that now that I had the pickup home my complaints of damage were going to be received by AQABP less than enthusiastically. I bought a replacement door handle online for $10 which AQABP agreed to install when they installed the driver's side rearview mirror. A few days later I attempted to turn on the windshield wipers.The passenger side wiper was completely inoperative. I got out to look at it and noticed that the plastic crowl cover (HVAC Grill) between the rear of the hood and the windshield was shattered on the passenger side and the broken pieces of plastic were still there. The 3 pieces of the crowl cover I purchased online for $162. Took the S10 to Bunnin Chevrolet. They advised that someone had removed the windshield wiper arm and replaced the nut holding the arm to the wiper motor with a nut that prevented the wiper from operating. Additionally, the brake light lens cover replaced by AQABP was noticeably loose. They stripped the head of the screw before the lens cover was secure and just left it that way. Both items repaired by Bunnin. There were additional items of irritation such as a missing floor mat and AQABP managed to crack the bed liner where it attaches to the bed. The only way to fix it is to replace it. Overall the paint job itself I would rate as "okay", maybe a 3 on a scale of 5. There were particulates/debris in the paint is some places. The preparation and care taken in preparation gets a "1". These guys are a wrecking crew. I would not recommend AQABP. There has to be a better place to get your car painted. read more

I had bedliner on my motorcycle fairings (long story, don't ask). A lot of places here in SB won't touch it, but Rene at A Quality said that he would give it a shot. They were very reasonably priced compared to shops in LA that I got quotes from. The paint work was pretty good, I would say 3.5/5. . There were a few blemishes, and the edges were left rough. Body work was good 4/5. The worst part about A Quality was communication. They kept promising that different stages would be ready, but pretty much missed all of them. It took 4 days more than they had initially promised. I would say if you were paying out of pocket, I would give them a shot, but if insurance was paying, I wouldn't go to them. read more

My car was recently damaged by a friend who backed into it- The guys at A Quality Auto Body and Paint are absolutely awesome- I didn't know the first thing about getting it fixed or what was a fair price but Johnny was fantastic at explaining and making it very clear what needed to be done and offering the best and fairest price (very fair compared to all my other estimates). Once my car was there I also decided to get a full paint job- Rene talked me through every step and was always available when I had any questions- My car had rust which prolonged the project but Rene did everything in his power to make the repair as speedy as possible and got my car to me on time as promised! I just got my car back today and its never looked better!! These guys are professionals they do fantastic work and I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else!
