470$ from them $40 for new painted piece at the dealership

I have a small plastic panel on my convertible. It somehow got all tons of deep scratches all the way down to the primer. It's about a 2inch by 4inch piece. They quoted me $470 to paint it. The part from the dealership brand new and painted is $40. Wow I also used them before when I got rear ended at a stop light as my insurance recommended them. They drilled into the rear bumper plastic mount rather than line up the holes amd use the original screw. I went for pick up and my diffuser wasent installed. The guy told me it didn't line up. After removing and reinstalling the screws myself everything lined up. Apperently they clean the inside of your vehicle also because mine came back with white soapy residue literally everywhere. 2 of the worst experiences with this company and I will never go back

The first time I had my car in there they did keep me informed when my vehicle was complete. The actual quality of the work was not impressive. At first look it looked good and they did repair the damage, however, when taking a closer look there were flaws. It was in there twice in the span of two months. The first time my vehicle was in there was because the passenger side truck bed panel was rear ended and need to be replaced. They did a fine job of replacing the actual panel. A few weeks after receiving my truck back I noticed that the fender flare had a gap in it (see photo). My truck was scheduled to go back into Hughes because I had been rear ended again (this time rear bumper needed to be replace). A light rear end collision that would not have caused a gap in the fender flare. Since my car was going back into their shop I called and spoke to Sammy to let him know about the gap and was told that it was being put into the notes, it did not sound assuring but I left it at that. When I received my truck back the gap that I had called about was still there. So much for putting in the notes. The second repair the rear bumper was replaced and the tail gate was not aligned so that was fixed as well. When I dropped my truck off for repair I actually let them know I wanted to point out that the tail gate misaligned when closing. I was again told it was being put in the "notes" but fortunately the manager was sitting in there and had someone come out and look at it. The tailgate was repaired but I noticed that it does need an extra little push so that it completely snaps into place to be aligned. This may seem like something small but I expect my truck back in exact same condition it was before being damaged. I realized I should have pointed out the gap in the fender flare when they were looking at the tail gate instead of leaving it up to someone to read the notes. My advice to you if taking your vehicle in for repair is to point out anything small details in person during drop off regardless if you think they want to look at it or not. Secondly, when receiving your car back take a close look at the replaced parts either on the spot or when you get home. The damage will be fixed but do not expect it to be flawless.

    Carbon fiber

Yes they did a good job, But i had a half smoked cigarette in my car. and my 500$ carbon fiber spoiler came back like this. they don't take care of your car but they get the job done i guess.

    The accident was ugly.... Before!!!

I hadn't had a detail in a decade and it was just filthy inside and out. It's a NEW car, minus the dent I need to have vacuumed or sucked out and the driver's seat. Like no one ever smoked! It's shiny, shiny, shiny. They did the interior and exterior, plus engine. Elite detailing isn't cheap but if , like me, you paid cash for your used car and have no payments, who cares? It's like a couple months car payment or so. Do yourself a favor and call for a quote. The website has no prices but they also do ceramic coating, with several tiers of packages. I was stressed and looking for help when I happened to drive by Sunshine Auto Spa around 6:30 PM -- well after their normal closing time -- and saw them still hard at work. I stopped in and spoke to David, and he immediately stepped in to help me out. Not only did he take the time to assess the damage, but he and his team also went above and beyond by staying late to remove the scratches and also for the paintwork -- all on the spot, the same evening. I honestly couldn't believe how accommodating, professional, and kind they were. The work they did was flawless -- my rental looked like nothing had ever happened. And to top it off, the price was incredibly reasonable. It's rare to find service this good and people who genuinely care about helping others. Thank you again, David and team, for turning a stressful situation into such a positive experience.

Someone slammed there Car door recently into my left rear door denting it badly. Marsha (the owner's wife) at John Briggs Motorsports assured me that they could fix it like New. I dropped my truck off on Sept 4th and they called me on the 11th that my truck was done (8 days seems a bit excessive). I go there to pick up my truck at noon and right away I notice that I can still see the dent and ripples in the paint, it looked like a really bad job, also little chips of paint missing on the edge of the door and the inside of my truck smells really bad of glue, which I don't think is normal. Also the lower part of the door is pushed in where it seams with the front door. After pointing this out to Marsha she runs her hand all over the door and tells me that "You know Black is really hard to work with and most people that own trucks aren't as picky as you." I then said are telling me this is a professional job and that you can't get it any better because it's black. She says no I can see that it needs a sanding and repainting and it can be made better, and might have to replace the door. I said well how come you didn't replace the door in the beginning and she says it's because the insurance only pays a certain amount of money for these jobs and that we have to get them done in a set amount of time. She then shows me a classic corvette body in the back room they are working on that has a very nice paint job and how they are able to do great work on it cause it's a private customer who is paying by the hour. I then said are you saying my insurance didn't pay you enough because the $1,850 seems like a lot to fix this door, especially since State Farm's preferred body shop only quoted me $1,200. She says no it's plenty of money. She tells me since I'm not happy then to bring my truck in next Tuesday and leave it for at-least 4 more days and if they can't get it right then they will replace the door. I ask Ok well how long could that take she says maybe 7-10 days. And tells me to take my truck home until the 18th and put the truck in the Sun to let it dry more and maybe I'll be happy with it and tells me to leave the State Farm check and my deductible check with them in the mean time. I said Ok and drove away with my truck to Enterprise in Goleta. I showed my truck to 2 employees at Enterprise and without telling them which door John Briggs worked on, they both pointed out the same door. 2 complete strangers were able to see the damage. I set up a rental agreement with Enterprise for the 18th and called my insurance State Farm. My insurance told me to not leave the checks with John Briggs Motorsports until they were completely done fixing my truck. So I went back to the shop and asked for my checks back explaining to Marsha that my insurance is saying not to leave them it's not normal procedure. Marsha says Ok I'll give you back the Insurance check but not your deductible check unless you leave the truck here. I said Ok and followed her into the office, she hands me the State Farm check and as she's doing it this big guy walks around the corner and says and I quote "What's wrong, O shit! I could smell this happening, it's a Fucking Ford the whole things a Dent to start with." I then said excuse me who are you? Then he says "Don't Fucking ask me who I am". I immediately walked out of the office and back to my truck. Marsha comes out and apologizes to me over and over and I said I can't believe that just happened I'm not bringing my truck back here. She told me that was her husband and that he was upset that a painter didn't show up. I said that's no excuse for the way I've been treated and I want my deductible check back too. She gives it to me and I drive away. I immediately called the police and documented everything. Then I went to a State Farm preferred shop in goleta and had them look at it. They right away said they can see the dent still and saw ripples in the paint and pointed out the lower door was pushed in. They also looked over the State Farm original estimate paperwork and on the paperwork it lists off exactly what the body shop was paid for to do. John Briggs Motorsports body shop only painted the door and didn't feather into the front door or can corner or rear truck bed, they did not do what State Farm wrote a check for. This is proof they purposely did a bad job and tried to pocket the rest of the money for work that they never did. I'm reporting them to the bureau of automobile repair and I've already reported them to my insurance company. And I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. So now after wasting 8 days and paying $167 for my rental Car I have to start over with a State Farm "preferred" body shop to get the work done right. People only take your car to the insurance's preferred body shop or they will not back you up.

Any professional shop knows that proper prep is the most basic step in refinishing a replacement bumper, so this was disappointing to hear. Now I'm left with a bumper that needs to be completely redone, at my expense, because of poor workmanship and a lack of accountability.
