Harborview Senior Assisted Living exceeded my expectations…read more After an increasing number of falls and associated hospitalizations, I was no longer able to care for my 91 year old mother at my home. She didn't want to have to move into an institution and I didn't want her in one either. However I also didn't want her in a place so small there wasn't activities and stimulation. I'm so happy that with the help of a placement guide we found HarborView. It's a beautiful mansion with manicured gardens set on a hill overlooking the stunning San Diego Bay that has 30 residents, a full staff and daily activities. After moving in we quickly found out that the staff is what really makes this place special. They are loving, attentive, respectful, courteous, caring and fun. There are always lots of smiles, laughter and music to enjoy as well as good food and the highest quality of care. I cannot recommend this place more. HarborView Senior Assisted Living was truly an answer to our prayers. It was the perfect place for my beloved mother's final days. It is a beautiful loving caring home, not an institution. She has left us now, but she was both blessed and enriched by the love and care she received from their wonderful staff. I, and all of our family, was blessed by them as well. Thank you HarborView.

She was exhausted and he was uncomfortable. We were referred to Huntington Gate by the hospice social worker. Placing a loved one in a facility can be overwhelming and Huntington Gate made us feel comfortable, safe and at peace with our decision. The owner, Phillip, knew all the right things to say and helped us along the way. He made us not feel guilty about or decision by explaining the round-the-clock care and how we could now rest and focus on being his family. Our caregiver, Tess and everyone else were so kind and knowledgeable. It's hard to be around such sadness, but they made us feel good. I wish we could have known them longer but my father-in-law went peacefully because of them and we are forever grateful.

They were not equipped to care for a diabetic patient with dementia and should have never accepted the transfer of my mother here. They put her in a broken wheelchair and left her there for over 2 hours. She got transported by ambulance from the hospital They tried putting her in a room with a woman the acted like a 2 year old tantrum. Littererally tore up the room. My sis has bad PTSD to start out with on top of being in horrible pain. They tried a 2nd time to put her in the room. The female lady had her phone out and video's her invading her privacy. My sis needless to say did not feel safe staying. She called family for an immediate pick up. Once we got there to pick her up. The staff would not allow us to take the broken wheelchair to load her in the car. We had to pick her up and carry her. This was both dangerous and painful for my sister. I can not tell you how horrible I felt for the human beings that were there for help.

Third, Vonda, CEO, administrator, facilitated a smooth transition, was very professional and very informative. She is truly perfect for her role. Mom's room is lovely and the grounds are well maintained. She believes the food is delicious and the staff helpful, kind and competent. Thank you is not quite adequate, grateful is understated because knowing our precious mom is well cared for means the world to us.

It took a while for her to adjust to moving from her home to an apartment and I'm happy to say that she's really enjoying the amenities, activities and all the friends she's made there. The food selections are top quality and varied and delicious. The staff are very helpful, caring and kind; the majority of the staff are long timers and are very dedicated. Recently she invited us to their Primavera Dinner celebration. I'm sharing some pictures of the event. The food served at this event was excellent.
