I have been going to Jill for about a year now, and I always used to get just a haircut, (which was fantastic by the way). But this last time I had ruined my hair color by deciding to go almost black from being sandy blonde for a change. I used a box color at home, and while the result was alright, three weeks later I was dying to go back blonde again. To make things worse, I went back to CVS and bought a blonde haircolor and tried to go back blonde by myself. To summarize, when I came to Jill at ASE, my hair was bleached blonde at the roots (about half an inch that had grown out), and blotchy dark and reddish thoughout the length.... It looked like a nightmare and I was just hoping that Jill would make it all one even color, hopefully lighter than it currently was. Jill was amazing! Not only did she explain to me how coloring process would work step-by-step, but she also questioned me carefully to learn what exactly I hoped for the end result to be, and then suggested the least-damaging and most efficient path to get there. I was very happy with the fact that she kept following up with me and explaining what was going on with my hair at every step, so I wasn't left wondering what my hairstylist is doing right now and how it is coming along... Not gonna lie, it took us 3 hours and 3 different "procedures" on my hair to fix the mess I had done to my own hair, but when she finally washed off the color and dried my hair, I could NOT believe the result: the color was completely natural (none of the brassy, blotchy, or "overdyed" look) dark blonde that matched exactly the picture of what I wanted that I had shown Jill before we started. This review is about Geneva who now has her own station at ASE Salon. She is fantastic and I used to go to Floyds 99 just for her. I know ASE and Geneva offer a lot of great options for women's haircuts, but Geneva is also great with guys and is an exceptional barber. Also, when you're getting your haircut, to me at least, its important to have a good rapport with your barber - be able to talk with them when you feel like talking ... or be comfortable enough with them for both people to just appreciate some quiet if that's what you want. Geneva is fantastic on all those fronts. I can't recommend her more and hope this review was helpful. Also, there is plenty of free street parking by ASE which is a great convenience when coming in for an appointment. read more

Bianca was great from the moment I stepped in. She offered me water and wasn't too pushy about making conversation right away (sometimes it bothers me when hair stylists immediately start asking me about my life!) She listened to what I wanted, more so than my other stylists have before, and she made a few suggestions as well. She told me exactly what she was going to do and made sure I was happy with it before she started. She did an awesome job--I went from super long, dead-endy blah hair to a cute long-bob cut at shoulder length. What can I say other than "FABULOUS". I found Vanessa after someone else turned my hair a lovely color of orange/red. Oiy! Vanessa looked at my hair, turned a thoughtful eye to me and said "I can fix this", and fix it she did. Not only was my hair an odd color, I have a ton of outrageously thick and curly hair and have been searching for someone like Vanessa. She took care of my color use and cut my hair so it falls naturally, and always looks great. Thank heavens I found Jill! I first went to her about a year ago in Echo Park and I can honestly say she is the only stylist I have seen that delivers a 100 percent every time. I just got my hair done (color, cut and style) by Bianca and I thought she did a great job and will be back. I had never had Bianca do my hair and this was the first time I had been to the salon. She took her time asking me what color I wanted and also discussed how I wanted my hair cut. Hairstylists generally do this but Biance did not rush to determine what would be best for me and spent more time than most to make sure I was getting the correct color and cut. I also explained to her that my bangs would not go the way I wanted them when I would style my hair. So when she was drying my hair she took the time to show me different ways that might help me achieve the look I wanted. Bianca was very respectful and professional.
