The deciding factor was their reasonably priced door with a built-in doggie door for our two 70 lb dogs go outside to fo their thing. Other companies either didn't offer this option or quoted more than double the price. Our sales representative, Larry, was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. Scheduling and installation were quick and efficient. The installation team did a beautiful job. Apologies for the dirty windows/dog door, we've had them up a few months. After 3 months, the doors are holding up great. We will definitely be using Ameristar again when it's time to replace our windows.

Several of the windows in my home face due south. Although they were double pane, they had almost…read morezero insulation remaining after 25 years of massive sun. The temperature in the south facing bedroom on a hot 90 degree plus day would always be nine degrees hotter than the rest of the house. I decided to replace not only the four windows in the south facing bedroom, but six other windows that can be viewed in the same field of vision from the street, to keep the aesthetics consistent. The replacement windows I selected are double pane argon gas filled to help keep the heat out during the summer season. I put out a bid on Yelp and narrowed the field down to two companies, Note I did not select the least expensive bid, but actually selected the most expensive bid. My reasoning was a solid five star Yelp rating, BBB A+++ rating and the knowledge and excellent follow up provided by the salesperson, David White. Other factors in my decision were silver coating on the glass to reduce the intense green hue that most argon gas filled windows exhibit and exterior window casings that are solid without decorative ribs that would collect dirt. I was provided with a detailed explanation of the process and same day estimate. The process from start to finish took five weeks. This would have been as little as two weeks if I did not have an arch top window. Curved windows take longer to build, at least for Ameristar. It took me a while to prepare the two rooms, so I was not in a big hurry. The installation was done yesterday. The crew was on time, polite, and from my view, was extremely careful and exhibited excellent attention to detail. The 10 windows were installed in one day. The crew cleaned up their mess very well and everything went according to plan. I am completely satisfied with the entire process. The windows are very elegant looking, not so green and make the house look better. I trust that the temperature in the south facing bedroom will level out with the rest of the house with the argon gas in the windows. Five stars all the way. Well done.

He also measured all the windows to be replaced and promptly provided a written quote. Three of our replacements were for original 30+ year-old single-hung windows which were no longer functional because their balances had failed. The replacement Simonton windows have a better design that obviates the need for such balances, which was of added value to me! The total window order, measured and made to order, was received by JWG within 3 weeks and installed within 1 week. JWG Windows arrived just minutes before the scheduled time for installation. We were fortunate to have a second installation crew (Alex and Ricky) join the first crew (EJ and Cody) during the installation process, which allowed the entire job to be done within 2.5 hours. These two teams operated smoothly together in good spirits, were respectful of our property (using drop cloths in each work area) and cleaned up the work areas. After they were installed, EJ demonstrated the windows' operating features, provided me with the manufacturer's warranty and answered my questions. The installation was quick, neat and attractive. About a month or two later, some of the insultation foam started to ooze out. Pelican responded immediately and remedied the problem. Based on this experience, I contracted with Pelican earlier this year to replace the remainder of my windows and all my sliding doors. The contracting process was smooth and the windows were ready in about four weeks. When it came time to install, Pelican arrived on time with four people. Every day of the installation (six total), there were at least four workers present. As before, they were neat, efficient and quick. Evan Wright, the owner, stopped by three times to make sure work was progressing appropriately. He even spent most of one day at the house supervision installation of a segmented kitchen bay window, which was tricky given the design and the existing granite countertop. While all of the crew members were great, Jorge, the boss was wonderful. He made sure to solicit our input as needed and kept us fully advised. They refused to take responsibility for a product that was clearly defective from the beginning. Weeks later, I still have a damaged product and absolutely no support from the company, they actually told me they were not going to help me. A reputable business stands behind what they sell -- this one doesn't. They take your money, and when something arrives broken, they leave you to deal with it alone.
