I ordered the lobster dinner - when the lobster arrived, the shell was rock hard and EXTREMELY hard to open. Everyone else was done with their meal, and I was still working on the first claw!. Then to make matters worse, the lobster meat was far from sweet and had an ammonia like odor, leading me to believe it had been in the tank way too long. As if that wasn't enough, the corn on the cob was dried out and tasteless - I only took one bite. I hesitated to bring this to the server's attention as I was there with my family to celebrate my 70th birthday, and I didn't want to make a fuss. Let's just say I will not be ordering lobster there again, and am hesitant to go back at all!

The wait on a Saturday at 5 was fifty minutes. We asked if we could order drinks or some appetizers for the kids to pick on and we never got an answer. Seating at the bar was really hard to get also. There was only one little spot to stand and wait for a drink and it took a very long time. Once you're in though, the food it's great and there is a nice view of the lake. You may even get to see some water skiers working on their jumps. There are some picnic tables out near the boats if you're just coming back from a day on the lake. Prices were reasonable, large portions and everyone left full. I had the fish sandwich. It was a fresh filet, lightly batter and lots of fries.

Having…read morejust moved to Portland a month ago, there were a few "missing items" and "empty spaces" in my humble abode that needed filling. My next door neighbor alerted to me this place and I'm so glad. I picked up four dining chairs (sometimes they are priced as a package deal with a table, but these were actually priced individually and separate from the table). I thought about getting some sort of lounge or easy chair to read in but I haven't converted to Maine vehicle yet, so my Mazda wouldn't fit it. Next time! A gorgeous coffee table also caught my eye, so that item was also purchased. I had to make two trips, but hey-ho. I think prices are great. Obviously, you're getting used items but isn't there something really charming about having furniture that has been lovingly used? (As long as it doesn't smell like a dirty fart) You could go the route of IKEA and I have totally done so on occasion, but let's admit it, most of that crap is crap. Old used furniture was made with love. I can imagine that prices may have climbed in the past few years, though I only have Chicago Salvation Armies to compare it to, and I think the prices are still better here than Chicago five years ago. Stuff probably comes and goes fairly regularly so don't feel defeated on an initial visit. I will definitely venture back here.

Not only did my son have a variety of desks to consider, the prices were well below what I thought would be reasonable. The staff, after showing us around the store and unobtrusively checking in, they assisted us with getting our purchase to and into our vehicle. We will think of Restore-HfH first the next time we need home furnishings.

Unfortunately, after my last three experiences selling at Lots for Tots in Falmouth, I feel like I need to share my feedback. I have repeatedly had interactions with the same employee (I'm not sure if she is in a management role) that have left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. She has consistently come across as dismissive and condescending, and instead of feeling like a valued customer, I have felt like I was inconveniencing her. During my most recent visit to sell, she was spelling my last name incorrectly. I gently corrected her, and her response was to snap back and roll her eyes. It was a small interaction, but the tone and attitude made me feel embarrassed and unwelcome. I also wasn't greeted or thanked during my visit. I completely understand that everyone has difficult days, but after multiple experiences like this, I hope this feedback can be an opportunity to reflect on the customer experience. I would love to continue supporting a local children's resale store, but I hope future customers are met with the warmth and kindness they deserve!

We very much appreciated their help and are glad to know we can wait until we get back to deal with the tire instead of worry all weekend. We definitely recommend and would come back if we have a problem (hopefully we don't). Very friendly, great service.

If your shopping for a specific brand it can be more expensive, but true to the item, I saw these Nike shoes that were reselling for $60 and they are used and worn through-- to be expected for a thrift but they were still in good condition-- I didn't end up buying them because they were out of budget for me at the time-- I might go back to see if they still have them maybe-- they have a lot of cute summer stuff, and they sell bras and all kinds of clothes-- you definitely have to sift through to find something really good! The staff is very to themselves unless your at the register or being direct with a question, other then that they don't really bother you while they are working-- seeing the other reviews kinda makes me sad because I do enjoy this place-- but I heard it can be hard if you're trying to resell your cloths and get some money off them! I haven't experienced this yet-- I've yet to want to sell any of my own cloths to this store, but according to the reviews I might choose elsewhere.

This is more of a hot spot for tweens and teens but you can find some good stuff here if you sift a bit. It still has the goodwill smell but not as bad. General rule of thumb: your clothes you bought for $50 are pretty much worthless the moment you walk out of a store. Plato's closet will probably give you less than $3 a piece because most of the stuff people bring is fast fashion. I've seen some good brands though like everlane, but most things aren't high quality. I did get lucky a found a very nice cashmere sweater, an all cotton sweater, and my new favorite corduroy skirt. My rule of thumb, brand is less important than the material they used so that's how I do my shopping. Staff here is pretty much teens so don't expect the best. Good luck!

I've not received ANY reimbursement despite my repeated requests for payment. CP's response: The check is in the mail. * Cherished Possessions emailed asking for my mailing address. As I had provided this information previously, I contacted a friend to pick up my check as I no longer live in Portland. Five days later I informed Cherished Possessions of my arrangements to obtain the payment due me; they emailed me back stating as they did not hear from me they mailed it to my Oregon address but did not confirm which address the check was supposedly mailed. The Kicker: I took five days for me to get back to Cherished Possessions, but it takes them weeks to respond to my requests, if they respond at all. * CP took weeks to re-establish my CP account after I informed them I no longer had access, preventing me from tracking sales on my furniture. CP's response: Their staff has been out sick. * When my account access was finally re-established, it did not show which of my items were sold or for how much; rather the account stated 'Total Paid to Date: $325.00'. The Kicker: I've not received ANY payment from Cherished Possessions. * I made arrangements for an item, reportedly not sold, to be picked up after the 90-day period stated in CP's contract. When contacted to make pickup arrangements, CP stated the item had been sold. When asked about the conflicting information provided by CP, the CP staff member became rude saying she didn't have time to discuss the furniture. With the loss of my property without the promised reimbursement, I now realize my mistake was not adhering to the numerous 1-star reviews given this business. Potential consignors & buyers should also read Cherished Possessions' responses to prior 1-star reviews which I found to be condescending & dismissive to concerns expressed by consignors.

We also had to ask for bread after noticing our server was bringing it to other tables but never offered any to us. Our server was attentive, friendly, and engaging with the surrounding tables, but we felt largely ignored throughout our meal. When we asked for drink recommendations, she wasn't helpful, and after we received drinks we didn't enjoy, she never checked in or asked about them--even though we had only taken a couple of sips. The wait for our entrées was about an hour, with very little communication about the delay. The overall service made us feel like an afterthought from the moment we sat down. What makes this especially disappointing is that this wasn't an isolated experience. This is the second time we've received the same level of poor service at this restaurant, despite having reservations both times. We understand that busy nights happen, but being consistently overlooked and treated differently from nearby tables is frustrating and unacceptable. We had hoped our first experience was just a one-time issue, but after a second visit with the same result, we won't be returning.
