    Thai Spicy Chicken

The lady at the counter was a little rude. Asked for the water and she pointed to the left without looking at me. I asked for the cup and she pointed her finger again to the left without looking at me , just looking at the cash register. She looked annoyed. We ordered Thai spicy chicken and it was delicious. Then I ordered soda in the counter, tried to pay by card and the same lady said not nicely, we don't accept credit card for just the soda. I think the place will have more customers if the lady was a little nicer because they have good food. I ate here maybe twice before years ago and the lady who worked there before was much nicer and they had more customers, too. The food price is not cheap. Casual dining, they have 4 1/2 tables and chairs. Not busy for a Sunday afternoon, maybe 3 dine ins and 1 take out order in an hour. Lots of parking. Customers pay for their food, it is not free, so be nice .

Food is yummy and delicious :) best part is that it's not too greasy. Mongolian beef is super tender. I highly recommend.

    Are they halal?

Yes! This restaurant is halal (May 21')

    Is it still under construction?

I didn't see any construction going on. The food is so good and fresh, seemed smaller in portion.

The waitresss said it was her favorite dish but I think another type of meat would've paired better with the noodles - Basil Eggplant: we always order this dish at this restaurant and the flavor is always consistent here. it is a bit salty so that is always a downer on the dish. - Salmon Crepe: my dad loved the crepe and always orders it at the restaurant. - Yellow Curry: spicy curry that was savory and light. This is my family's favorite Thai restaurant and we have been going for years. The only bad part is how salty all of the dishes are. It will definitely make you want to chug glasses of waters after eating here. Nonetheless, the flavor of the dishes are always consistent and packed with deliciousness. I recommend trying this place if you are in the Fremont area.

We had the purple-colored Ube Pancakes and the Khao Hom Waffle, which contained strips of fresh coconut meat, and both beautifully-plated dishes were topped with berries and syrup. I was an even bigger fan of the Thai side of the menu, starting with the Papaya Salad, a refreshing, crunchy mixture of shredded papaya, green beans, tomatoes, and crushed peanut in a spicy, sweet, acidic dressing made of fish sauce and lime. For our mains, the Northern Thai Khao Soi was a noodle soup made of egg noodles and chicken breast strips in a rich coconut curry, topped with crispy egg noodles, pickled cabbage, and fried shallots. From the Chef's Special menu, the Tom Yum Crab Omelet was a mound of jasmine rice enveloped with an egg omelet, topped with chunks of crab, mushrooms, and a creamy tom yum sauce; and my favorite dish was the Roti Gai Tod, a hearty combination of breaded chicken thigh, roti (a flaky flatbread), cucumber salad, jasmine rice, and a mild but flavorful yellow curry sauce on the side. Overall, everything we tried here was delicious, and the service was super quick and friendly too! Tom Yum Crab Omelette- the best one to get since it has creamy tom yum sauce, a soft omelette, drizzled with a slice of lime, and crab meat with a few mushroom slices on top of fluffy rice. Khao Hom Waffle- coconut pandan waffle with fruits and syrup on the side. I wish they replaced the syrup with coconut milk syrup for better flavor and used no coconut shreds as a topping. Ube Pancake (side order)- one thick ube pancake that turned out dry when eaten with syrup. Never order anything that is not Thai on the menu. They should add Thai Tea pancakes to their menu with housemade Thai Tea syrup to make it more fusion. Pad Kee Mao w/ Chicken- I regret ordering this because the string beans were half raw, the tofu was dry, and the dish was a bit spicy. I should've ordered Pad Thai or Ka-Pow Short Rib Benedict instead. Thai Tea- strong and sweet, not too watery. It was less crowded when we arrived at 10 am on the weekend. The waitresses were fast and efficient, and the restaurant was nice and spacious.

A lot of Pad Thai tends to lean heavily on the sweet side, which isn't really my preference. Sala Thai's is still slightly sweet, but it's much more balanced and not overly sugary like many others.
