    Chicken Shwarma Bowl
    Cathy T.

Came in for lunch and ordered a "build your own bowl" with saffron rice, fries, chicken schwarma, and classic toppings which is a crisp mix of red cabbage slaw, tomatoes, and red onions. The bowl was very filling, the chicken was warm and tender, and the fries were crispy! With the lunch rush, there was quite a wait (maybe about 20 minutes) for our food because of the online orders.

This place is like food porn. I'm here so often that I'm on the rewards program. Great business. Especially if you care about quality and hitting your macros.

I attended an event where the food was catered from this place. I had salad, falafels, saffron n rice, and bread. Everything was delicious! Can't wait to visit the shop and try other dishes!

Love the kebab shop! First time coming to this location and it's super clean and updated compared to the one I usually go too. You order at a tablet which is fine but I do prefer to order with someone. Everything is prepared and is super hot and fresh when it's ready. I usually build my own wrap and I get my child falafels and French fry's. We love that you can get the og sauce on your own and the red sauce. My son loves the white sauce to dip the falafels and French fry's in.

Falafel wrap and chicken wrap with a side of crave fries

Conveniently located in a strip mall on Paseo Padre Highway in Fremont, this joint offers healthy, no-fuss wraps, bowls and plates. You pick a protein (falafels, chicken, shrimp etc), remove any recommended toppings and add any optional ones to customize your wrap/bowl/plate. Bowls come with rice and plates with salads on the side. We got the wraps and a side of their crave fries. The portions are quite generous and I would share the wrap between 2 if not very hungry. Their sauces are quite nice too - particularly the cilantro jalapeño one. Food was delicious and came out pretty quickly. The place is super clean and good for groups of all sizes. I recently learned that is a chain, I'd recommend trying one close to you.

Grilled Beef Kofta plate. Missing my tabouli. Definitely doesn't look appealing, but it tasted good.

They had a fundraiser going, so they were pretty swamped with orders, but the staff at night were amazing. The cashier would make a point to tell walk-ins that there's a fundraiser, so orders have about a 30-45 minute wait. I really appreciated that she was giving people a heads up and letting them decide versus now people just sort of stare and don't tell you. Then you're pissed that it's taking so long. They were very aware of who was waiting for awhile and they'd ask to make sure they had your order and when it was going to be ready. The staff were great for handling all those orders during the fundraiser. I was bummed cause I didn't get my tabouli, but I also didn't look to verify our order. My meal definitely did not look appealing at all, but it tasted pretty good. Our kids scarfed down their wraps and loved it. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seats indoor and outdoor.

3.5 stars overall Good - Portions are big Better - Fries are a surprisingly satisfying Best - Wrap should be on repeat weekly Missed the mark - order for plate was wrong They served rice instead of a Greek salad when it was clearly typed on the order. No seasoning on grilled veggies made them bland. Would return to try them again and hopefully get the Greek salad.

I love this place. I've had it twice and I can't wait to come back a third time. The cashier was super patient and helpful. The food is super tasty and healthy-ish. The price is reasonable. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Honestly this chain is 10/10. Great prices, fast service, easy, huge portions, great flavor, great unlimited sauces. Absolutely no complaints. This Fremont location is spacious, fairly clean (it still looks new), and not too crowded at all. I'll be back if I need a quick gyro wrap fix!

I have been wanting to try out this Kebab Shop for a bit of time now as the first time I was kind of thwarted because it was kind of hidden. But we were in search of some lunch. In short, it's a new spot, the food is good, the smell inside is a bit undesired though you grow to get used to it while you're in there, but at least there's seating outside and you can call in your order and make sure you say the words on the menu. L O C A T I O N The Kebab Shop is on the corner of Paseo Padre Parkway and Walnut Ave. It's at the actual corner so if you're coming from the opposite side and go into the plaza parking lot there's no way you know it's there. I kind of wish there was some kind of signage near the parking lot. Parking is shared by the other establishments and we easily found parking. M E N U You have a variety of meats in kebab or sliced (chicken, beef, lamb + beef) and one non-meat option (falafel) that can be made into a wrap, bowl, salad or plate. Then it's a matter of picking a sides for the plate or toppings for the other options. They have a few other items that are not plates like fries, baklavas, brownies, etc. We opted for a plate with carved lamb + beef and had a salad and fries as a side. Unfortunately we didn't realize there wasn't any sauces in the bag and you had to go to the soda area to get your sauces so our meats were kind of super dry, but they were flavorful. So note, make sure you stop by and grab some condiments otherwise you will be sad. I kind of wish they already prepacked some or at least tell you that there are sauces on the side. The salad was fine, the fries were good. S E R V I C E When we called in our order upon asking what type of meat, we said lamb beef "gyro" and the person on the other side was like we don't have that. So we specifically said the actual words on the menu and they were able to get it. So just beware when ordering make sure you're looking at the menu to ensure a smooth process. We easily paid at the register. I just wished they told us to go to the side for any sauces. O V E R A L L It's nice to have a Kebab Shop nearby in this area to give us another option for food. I think I'll stick to ordering to go. I'll also make sure to get sauces next time we go but the meat was dry. Or perhaps stick to the kebabs. I'll have to go back more times and I'll provide an updated review when that does happen. Otherwise, do try them out!

    Kabob, rice and veggies
    Preet P.

Wanted to try this newly opened kabob place. Ordered two chicken kabob plates to go. I paid $41 including tax for these two plates. Honestly, the food was delicious--no doubt about that. What sets it apart from other kebab spots is the presentation and quality of food not quantity, it includes rice, grilled veggies, and perfectly cooked kebabs. And to mention about their sauces. So delicious- specially green one which looks like chimichuri. The ingredients felt fresh, and they're clearly not compromising on food quality. Now, on the price: Two plates came out to $41 which is on the pricier side. At roughly $20+ per plate, it's not a budget option. But if you're okay spending that much for well-made, flavorful kebabs, it's worth trying. Service was great and attentive as well. If you look at the portion in the picture, you can judge for yourself if it matches your expectations for the price. For me, it's a solid place for quality over quantity, especially if you're craving something a bit nicer than your average kebab joint but will this be my go to place for lunch? May be but not every week.

Came here for a quick bite one evening and was a bit disappointed with the food. We got a wrap, gyro fries, and a bowl. The amount of sauce that was put on our food was ridiculous and kind of off-putting. The flavors also left much to be desired. The only item we enjoyed was the wrap, so maybe stick to that if you come here.

My family and I, two adults and two young children, came here during Ramadan for iftaar. Before arriving, I specifically called ahead to ask whether we needed to come early because I understood restaurants can become very busy during iftaar time. I was told that arriving 10 to 15 minutes before iftaar would be perfectly fine and that our food would be ready around the time of breaking fast. Based on that reassurance, we came about 20 minutes before iftaar expecting a smooth experience. Instead, the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. The restaurant was crowded but not chaotic. We sat down and waited while servers walked past us repeatedly without acknowledging us. Eventually, I had to flag someone down myself just to place an order. I even asked directly how long the food would take because we were fasting all day and had two small children with us. The server confidently assured us the food would arrive around iftaar time. That never happened. When iftaar finally arrived, all we received were dates and water. No appetizers, no main dishes, nothing. We continued waiting while table after table around us received their food. Meanwhile, our children became increasingly upset and hungry. Anyone with young kids knows that after a full day of fasting, asking them to wait another 20, 30, even 50 minutes is nearly impossible. Our kids were crying, exhausted, and confused as they watched other families eat while we sat there with empty plates. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of honesty and accountability. Every time we asked about our order, we were told, "It's coming soon." Then eventually the server disappeared entirely for nearly 20 minutes and avoided us altogether. A woman later approached us, but instead of apologizing or taking our concerns seriously, she became dismissive and defensive. By this point, nearly 50 minutes had passed since we ordered, and she still insisted we "shouldn't complain" (in Farsi) because the food would come "soon." That response was honestly more upsetting than the delay itself. A simple apology, honesty, or basic compassion toward a fasting family with small children would have gone a long way. We eventually left the restaurant feeling humiliated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. What saddened me most is that this happened during Ramadan, a month centered around patience, generosity, hospitality, and good character. In Afghan culture and Islamic ethics, guests are supposed to be treated with dignity and care, especially during iftaar. Halal is not only about the food being permissible. Halal is also about honesty, fairness, respect, and how people are treated. Sadly, this restaurant failed in all of those areas. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful service or a welcoming family environment.

Great food, generous portions, and a hidden gem amidst the roadwork!…read more I've actually been here before, but the first time around I was so hungry I forgot to take any pictures! This time, my camera ate before I did, ha! Here is a breakdown of what we ordered on this visit: 1. Steamed Chicken Momo: These were perfectly moist with an adequate, well-seasoned filling. Plus, their signature orange sauce never disappoints! 2. Mixed Fried Rice: This came loaded with eggs, chicken, and veggies. Unlike some places where the veggies feel like an afterthought, these tasted fresh. The portion size was great, flavorful and more than enough for two people. 3. Chicken Sizzler: There is nothing like hearing that loud sizzling sound when food is brought to your table! I initially expected it to come with fries and veggies, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it served on top of a huge bed of noodles. It was incredibly tasty. My only minor critique is that the menu just lists the name of the dish without a description. While I could have asked, it would be helpful if the menu explained what the sizzler entails, especially since their other menu items have descriptions. The Perks & Ambiance: Free Tea: A wonderful touch! They offer free, unlimited aromatic hot tea for dine-in customers, served in cute little espresso cups. Service & Seating: There is plenty of seating available. The service is prompt, though you might occasionally need to wave them over to get their attention, but it's definitely not a dealbreaker. Parking & Access Tip: There is ample parking in the complex, but getting to it can be a bit tricky right now due to the ongoing roadwork on Fremont Blvd. From the street, it almost looks like the restaurants in this plaza might be closed, but don't be fooled; they are absolutely up, running, and well worth the visit!

I really love smashed burgers and found out that they're promoting this on social media. So why not give it a try? I was trying to order it along with curly fries and drink. When I looked at the total, it contradicted the price of the fries and drink combo since the employee entered them separately. So I tried telling him that the combo is in the menu and so why put both items separately? They were clueless with what I'm trying to tell them and I kinda gave up trying to explain. Luckily, he figured out what I told him and it was a success. I guess that it's all a misunderstanding. They should be consistent with what's on the menu even though that ordering them separately is slightly expensive. Also, if I'm correct, if you want the fries and drink combo, you can only get the Shasta brands. Otherwise, you'll have to order both separately, because Shasta drinks are generally cheaper than other soda brands. I suggest them updating the menu where it says something like "With Fries & Shasta Drink Combo" rather something a bit too general. That would clear up confusions and misunderstandings from both sides. Again, I don't blame him. It's most likely a miscommunication and we're just trying to clear things up. Anyways, got home and honestly the curly fries were crispy and very delicious. The best part is actually the smashed burger. It's really saucy and juicy at the same time. They did a really good job with making them. Would definitely recommend anyone especially those who near this area to give it a try! In my opinion, it's better than one of the burgers I had.

They were a little disorganized, but the decor and vibes were very homey. Their portions are fairly large, and overall the food was pretty decent, although not all of the dishes were my cup of tea I will say. This was my first time having Afghanan cuisine, so take what I say here in my review with a grain of salt. I rounded up because the food was pretty tasty and filling, but wasn't super impressed by the overall experience. So, to me, flavor and quality of the food is more important than the overall experience with the staff and vibes of the space. I would have given a 3.5/5 if I could. Food: 4/5 A friend mentioned that this is his family's go to spot for some of the most authentic Afghan food, so this is what I am basing the rest of this review on. We ordered Triple Kabob Murgh, Teka and Chaplee Kabob, Quabili Pallow, Mantu, Aushak, Sabzi Challow, Kado Borani, and Doogh. The kabob meats were all seasoned differently and were very tender, but everything else had a very similar palate to each other. Everything was fairly tasty, and the lamb wasn't too gamey, which I appreciated. If you try the Doogh yogurt drink, know that it is sour and an acquired taste, my friends said it wasn't good until they ate some food along side it. Staff/Space: 3.5/5 The staff wasn't the most friendly nor did they really come to check on us. The guy just took the order and brought our order and that was the only real interactions we had with the staff. The space in general was super homey and very much set for cozy family vibes. There is a decent amount of space inside and outside to accommodate for various party sizes. There is only street parking, which is not super convenient.
