The restaurant offers a cozy contemporary feel with a minimalist modern touch. The white oak and high ceiling also contributes to a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Right from the start, I loved the presentation of the Pepino--refreshing, creative, and unlike anything I've seen elsewhere. The Aguachile Callo de Hacha was outstanding, easily one of the highlights of the evening. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend ordering the following tacos - Campesino ($7) and the Pato al Pastor ($8); both are packed with original flavors and showcase the chef's creativity. Their Jamaica drink is also excellent and pairs beautifully with the food. Chef Emiliano Marentes has deservedly earned national recognition and James Beard acclaim, which naturally creates high expectations before you even walk through the door. So that is always creating an issue as many of us expect perfection. The restaurant was moderately busy, with some people waiting to be seated. The biggest disappointment, however, was the pace. We waited approximately 25 minutes for our food despite the restaurant not appearing especially full. Then came the most unexpected wait of the evening--the restroom. Standing in line for more than 15 minutes just to use the bathroom is something I've never experienced at a restaurant. That took away from what had started as a very enjoyable evening. Service was efficient without any fluff. Overall this is a solid 4.0/5.0.

It's a fun and classy speakeasy inside of Tin Man on George Dieter. They keep their location hidden on social media...I guess because it's a speakeasy? I think the concept is cute and fun. I almost felt like I wasn't in El Paso anymore! They have cute Japanese knick knacks and decor. There's only two tables and a small bar area. This is probably why it's hard to get a reservation. You can make a reservation by messaging them on Facebook or Instagram. If they don't get back to you, give them a call at Tin Man. They're open Thursday-Saturday from 7pm to 2 am and Sundays from 2-9 pm. Before Origami Sake Bar, I've only had sake a couple of times straight and...it was super strong. It almost knocked me out of my seat! This is coming from a lady who could drink Tequila like water. Those days are long gone btw. However, this sake bar changed those previous experiences for me. Why? Because they offer a combination of sweet and strong drinks. I had to have a sweet drink so I went with the Grogu. Forgive me, I can't remember what exactly was in it. If you like boba tea, this is the drink for you. It had a lot of boba balls in it. The Yoda stein holds a lot of drink and it stays cold. I was good with just this one drink. Sake it to me El Paso! Yes... there's a hidden Sake bar speakeasy in El Paso, and it's gorgeous, along with my girlfriends that came out to check it out with me. It was a bit difficult to get an RSVP, I messaged them thru their FB page, but they didn't respond so I ended up calling the location which was Tin Man and they got me connected to RSVP. After that they were super responsive and gracious. We ended up having 8 ladies show up but at different times and they were nice enough to let us stay until the next reservation showed up at 10pm. We had a great time, drinks were strong and unique. Only things I would recommend to change are getting a better menu QR, it made you download the menu instead of just showing you, and not mixing the popping boba and regular boba in the drinks as it's a HUGE choking hazard, especially when drinking alcohol. This is one of my family's favorite spots for a reason! Every meal was super filling and delicious. For appetizers, we ordered the guac and the elote, and both were devoured almost immediately. We all ordered different dishes, so I got to try a little bit of everything, and honestly, everything was so good. The standouts for me were definitely the birria and the flautas. I also ordered a jamaica gin martini and loved it! I love how big the space is because they were able to accommodate our family of 10 very easily, no problem at all.
