Bartender was misinformed about their happy hour. I was told certain beers were on happy hour but their system said otherwise. She called their manager and he wouldn't honor the happy hour price. He said their happy hour is on a random 3 beer selections that rotate every day. They're not listed anywhere, you just get a surprise bill. Wtf. Beer selection is also limited to IPAs and they run out of their popular beers without bothering to refill them. Losing trust over a couple of dollars is bad business. First visit ever. Had no idea I could taste before, nothing explained. I can in around 6:40 on a Thursday not busy at all maybe 12 people. My service was HORRIBLE. I waited 15 mins for a beer. Hello from California! Visiting back home for the holidays and I just came on here to warn everyone this is a VERY misleading post!! It clearly says "FREE GROWLER" so I came in today expecting to purchase the mug and glass but receive the free growler. THEY DON'T GUVE ANYTHING FREE TODAY!! This place is amazing. Came here while waiting for my laundry to be done and wound up really enjoying the ciders they offer. My husband especially enjoyed the stouts and we loved the decor, seating area and bar tender. Very friendly and chill place to have a drink after a long day and they offer the growlers which I might consider next time since their Emperor cider was addicting. The music aLso added to the experience for me as it was a lot of 90s/00s alternative rock and the other patrons seemed friendly and into it.. I'm looking forward to trying the other location as well. This place is a favorite of my husbands and I. We usually come in at least 2-3 times a month. We love the samples so we can really enjoy the glass we pick. We go from going in and drinking to filling up some growlers and bringing it home. I've definitely been able to expand my beer selection because they allow the testers. Today it was just my husband and I stopping in for a beer, I got the Karbach Tasty Wave Summer Ale (which was amazing! They unfortunately no longer have the Texas Tea which was my ultimate favorite one) and my husband got La Chancla, the Mai Time and the Stash IPA. He is a bit of a beer snob but he really enjoyed all of them. His favorite was the Stash IPA. Nice spot to grab a beer and hang out. The bartenders are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about what they have on tap. I'm a brown/red/lager gal when it comes to brewskies. Unfortunately they had none of the above; however, the bartender made some recommendations and let me try samples until I found something I liked. It's a pretty small place, with just a couple large, picnic- eqsue tables. The crowd was a mixture of borderline hipster dudes, and your normal army dudes.. but definitely all dudes. The only ladies around seemed to be wives/girlfriends. Sorry boys, if you're looking to pick up chicks you should try somewhere else. Also, in contrast to the sports bar a few doors down, the music isn't blasting so loudly that you can't carry on a normal conversation. I love all the Tin Man locations though this is my favorite location. It's on the Eastside so more of a blue-collar crowd here as compared to the Westside location. I believe they only carry TX beers here and you'll always find at least 1 Martin House beer on tap. They'll carry the strange flavored ones also so it's really fun to try a pickle beer or a cheesecake beer etc. They also have a fill growler get the 2nd one for 1 cent! The 2nd one is limited to the ones they choose but it's never a bad beer! So that's pretty awesome. read more

One of my favorite things about Tin Man, which i exploit religiously, is that it is a beer filling station. What this means is, I can bring a growler (container appropriate for the portable transport of beer) and they will fill it, seal it, and I can take it home and partake of the wonderful world of quality beer from the comfort of my own home. Made high-quality suggestions for folks who asked for them. The growlers seem like the way to go, pricewise, but I don't have enough room in my tiny fridge. And the growlers themselves were reasonably priced at $10. They do fill any clean growler, even if it has a competitor's logo on it. Right on. Nitpick: The keg-chairs were clever but difficult to position. Unfortunately I ruined the pleasure by following up with a visit to Steve O's across the street, which made me want to hang myself. They have some really good beers on tap but unfortunately the more expensive the beer the less likely you are to be allowed to taste before buying. They offer 2-3 dollar 2oz sample pours for the premium brews and usually they are worth it but it can be hard to commit to a full pour without trying first. For the cheaper brews they will let you sample or get a flight of 1$ per 2oz pour. They have a few board games to play in the store but we brought our own. There is no food available but they allow you to bring in whatever you want. read more

Took the long trip out to visit this watering hole last night. I was very pleased. They carry only Texas brewed beer (once you go T.X. you never go back), which is an awesome theme. I had two drinks (IPA, and Milk Stout) from their 26 beers on tap. They were both on point, and when I mean on point, "I mean the buzz came quick."
