    Remodeled kitchen

I tell everyone I know about United Construction. I had my kitchen remodeled by them a few months back and they were so thorough with there work and treated me like family. They are very responsive and serious about what they do and if I ever have any questions they are super great at helping me as much as they can. 10/10 would recommend A United Construction for anyone looking for a trustworthy and efficient group of people.

Original carpet installed. Owner was even in my basement on this day and didn't bring the poor craftsmanship to my attention.

I have never written a Yelp review before, but my experience with A United has definitely warranted one. I hired A United to renovate my basement by adding a bedroom and bathroom. The first issue arose when A United failed to start the job on time. A United did not contact me to inform me of them starting a day late, and I had even altered my schedule to be available on the contract start day. A United seldom consulted with me prior to or after any step of the renovation. I told Lawrence (a representative for A United) that I did not like the layout of the bathroom after seeing it with all the walls up. After I initially stressed my discontent with the layout, I came home from work to find that they had continued plumbing in the opposite direction. This was after A United promised they would get back to me before further work had been done. A United eventually agreed to change the layout to my liking and stated that I would only have to pay the difference in allowances (new tub and faucet). Throughout the renovations when I voiced my desire to add or change certain things, Lawrence always blamed his inability to honor my requests on 'The Company'. A man known as Ben frequented my house a lot during the renovations. I eventually told Lawrence that I did not want Ben in my house anymore because he was constantly over pricing Lawrence's quotes for additional work. During these instances, I even asked Lawrence if Ben was his boss and they both denied such a thing. I later found out that Ben, real name Hicham Moutawakil, was actually the owner of A United. I often found myself extremely frustrated throughout the whole renovation process. On multiple occasions I discovered poor craftsmanship and work that just wasn't done up to par or per the contract. A United never once pointed anything out to me; therefore, I had to bring everything to their attention. The carpet that was laid for the steps had a fist size hole and the bottom stair wasn't covered all the way. The door installed for the closet was cut straight from the bottom leaving the door knob extremely low to the ground. Ben instructed his workers to dump the dirt/concrete combo from my newly installed window in my backyard without my permission. A United placed the new floor directly over my existing floor even though the contract stated that the existing floor was to be removed. Everything went downhill when I asserted that I wanted the floor done per the contract and the other issues fixed. At that point we were already a week behind our scheduled completion date. After realizing the scope of work that had to be redone A United sent me an invoice for work done 3 weeks prior on my bathroom. The invoice was unprofessionally drafted as it contained an incorrect address and was dated for a time prior to our contract start date. I told A United I was not paying the invoice, and they even threatened to put a lien on my house. A United then told me that they would not return for another 3 weeks to continue work. A United ended up finishing my renovations about 2 months past the schedule date. I wish I would have done more research on the company before hiring them, as I now see other similar complaints. The company is extremely unprofessional. The owner doesn't even present himself as such. Ben is all about doing a quick cheap job. I was happier to have them out of my basement than I was with the final product. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Not only was HG flooring a great price, but their team did an excellent job with installation. We also had them repair/replace a section in our kitchen that had some water damage, and you cannot even see where they installed the new flooring. Everyone on the team was courteous, and highly skilled. I cannot say enough good things to say about them. I will certainly use them again for any future jobs.

But I feel like I got more than my money's worth. I could go on and on about how much I recommend this company. Two of my neighbors inquired about their work. I told them I will let them check it out, so hopefully they will get even more business in my area. They deserve it.

It was a no brainer to choose them. When it comes to the work itself, the craftsmanship was very good, the cuts are so clean and everything looks amazing. They did very fast work without sacrificing quality. The only areas for improvement I would say they could have are: - Communication during the days of the project, so you know without having to ask when they are coming, leaving, what the progress is, etc. - Ensuring when they put furniture and things back that they pay attention to things like hooking up HDMIs back to the correct places - Doing a better job of cleanup -- they left behind a TON of dust coating everything, sawdust in my basement that I presume blew in from leaving the garage entrance open where they were working, cans/water bottles left behind - Building in measurement/space for lower flooring to not leave a gap in the trim; they came back and did some caulking after I had a water/rain issue, but it still doesn't look as good -- I wish that their molding/trim solution filled the big gaps and I'm going to have to find a way to do that myself To their credit, they were very fast and responsive when I had a water issue and came back out the next day. I also had a crack in my basement ceiling where something pounded through or pounded the drywall loose from the flooring above being done, and they credited me enough money back to be able to have my handyman fix it. Overall, I would definitely use DFD again.
