Bought an orchid for $180, died a month later, no discount or refund offered when I asked to buy a new one. Buyer beware.

Do NOT get your Prom corsages here! it's a good thing my teenager picked up the corsage for his date ! If MOM had gone I would have asked for refund ! they charged me $84 dollars! and said the little blue flowers I ordered would come in fresh today and it was to be mostly blue with 3 little white roses and a BLUE ribbon for this kind of money and these special dates it is the details that are important in fact , they didn't get any more little blue flowers and used the sad little cluster of blue flowers from yesterday , then filled it with 5 or more roses which made it bigger than her ARM and about 1lb! to hoist around all night :( No Beautiful blue ribbon to match her exquisite dress but a white one :( :( AND for $85 bucks not even a proper corsage holder so she can see it but a cheap little cardboard box that look like they had cookies in it earlier in the day Total disappointment Total waste of money read more

My Mother's Day bouquet wilted and browned overnight. Beautiful flowers but really terrible quality, especially at the price point. The store owner told me it was the "type of flower". Instead, I would highly recommend Casey's Flower Studio one block away. read more

Terrible customer service expense orchid not properly supported bent and broken with in 10days

So I'm a little odd when it comes to the giving of flowers. I don't like to give the "stocked" bouquets. I like to go through and pick my own arrangement. So I might seem a bit strange to a proprietor who is used to patrons getting the pre-fixings, or letting the staff construct the arrangement. So that's what I did this time. And I like odd flowers, exotic ones that you notice right off. This place had a pretty nice selection of the non-generic. read more

This place is the absolute CUTEST!!! They have absolutely gorgeous floral designs with so many options inside. Outside right now they have the most beautiful display of pumpkins and fall flowers. I walked in randomly looking for a Thank You bouquet and was assisted by a young woman with dark hair and bangs. After telling me the price per stem (which was quite expensive), she asked my budget. I really had nothing specific in mind, so I put all my trust in her to make something (not too girly) and she made a beautiful bouquet. she told me it was a treat for her to have that sort of creative freedom; it seemed like she really loved her job. although overpriced, I was really happy with the result. I've lived in the neighborhood for years and only just went into this shop today. It smells beautiful inside, the flowers are fresh and prices are reasonable. Every bouquet is custom created. I was desperate to find a wedding bouquet for a friend who didn't really think she needed one! I knew how much more she would like her pictures if she had the flowers so I grabbed a Citibike and went from florist to florist the DAY BEFORE the wedding and struck out at place after place Fidi, Tribeca, Soho. It was a Friday late afternoon and the stock was low and or the colors too anemic and pale, UNTIL I remembered that there was a really lush looking place on University. and TA DA!, floral heaven at University Floral Design. I spoke with Peter the owner who had the all jewel tones you could ever want and he had such good fresh and colorful stock. We planned the bouquet from what was in the store, but he really went the extra mile - literally - up to the wholesale flower market the next morning to find dark burgundy peonies - which really brought the flowers over the top. i stopped by today with two people and the owner/worker was extremely nice. he is very busy with making multiple arrangements. we didn't end up getting anything but that didn't stop him from naming different plants/flowers that he thought we should get as a gift the flower was out of our price range, but i would come back here for a great gift or holiday arrangement. everyone was wearing a mask! read more

Unbelievably overpriced, even for Manhattan. I requested a bright and cheery bouquet for a friend who had just got out of hospital; the price was $70. When I came back a few hours later I was astonished to see a tiny arrangement no more than 6 inches high, made up of three faded-looking hydrangeas and a couple of lilies. When I complained I was told the hydrangeas were "$10 per stem." (Really?) I would have done way better at the bodega down the street. I guess this place is fine if you have money to throw away. read more

While I'm not yet a customer, I stopped in here one night after work and asked the manager (perhaps owner) if he could answer a few questions I had about buying a larger house plant for our apartment. He answered all of my questions and showed me a few plants that they had in stock. He also suggested I try their other location because they have a larger selection of house plants. They deliver anywhere in Manhattan for an additional $15 - which will come in very handy if I choose a large plant. I took a few pictures and plan on discussing with my boyfriend. I'd definitely think about buying our plant from here. read more

I'm so thankful I came across this place the day before our elopement in NY. I wanted a simple flower arrangement for my wedding date, and didn't want to spend a fortune on it. We came across this shop while walking in the neighborhood. They worked with me to make the most beautiful bouquet on the spot with the flowers I chose (orange tulips and other flowers I don't know the names of). They girl who helped us was very patient, friendly and managed to put together a beautiful bouquet while we waited. I got a lot of compliments on the bouquet. It looked beautiful! read more

My mother sends me flowers from here for my birthday every year. She always tells them to not make it Christmasy because it is for my birthday (which occurs around Xmas). Sure enough they always come with some holly and poinsetas. They have nice orchids there but each one costs around $85. I recommend going to the store to order flowers...that way you can pick them out yourself. read more

What good fortune to be staying around the corner from University Floral. We were in town from Portland OR to take two besties to Carnegie Hall to see Patti LuPone. We asked for and received two gorgeous understated 2-rose wrist corsages. They went over really well and surprised and pleased our dates to no end. The past two times I've purchased flowers here they have died within a few days. This last time, I bought a dozen rose, which is pricey, and they drooped within a day. i called to complain, and they nicely replaced them, but the replacements only lasted 3 days. At $6/stem you expect them to last a little bit longer than ones from the corner store would. read more

Ordered same day delivery, confirmed by phone and sadly no flowers wer delivered and no customer service options to get explanation. Regret.
