Also, this is Manhattan so we expect flowers to be expensive but we also expect them to be presentable, the flowers I sent my girlfriend looked terrible. This shop is amazing!! They have great,selection and service! Diana can make anything you want come true! She is truly a very talented designer. Make sure you go and see her! She is the best! My beautiful huge white orchids look amazing in my roof between my two windows where they are getting plenty of sunlight. I am following a weekly watering diet by laying ice cube on top of the soil around the orchid. They still look the same as the day I bought them! Thank you for all of your help and great service! I procrastinated in getting flowers for my brother's graduation. Found this place on Yelp nearby. A few customers were already inside, the space is pretty small so we squeeze inside the shop. They have a wide variety of flowers that you can choose, or I opted to go with the $25 pre-made bouquet. I thought the pre-made ones were a much better value! I got a much bigger bouquet compared to the customer before me. Their bouquet was also $25, but maybe only half of the size. Highly recommended! They also do passport photos! read more

This is a small floral shop with no viewing pleasures, I was told I could look on the website for their options. But there were no actual flowers in a refrigerator to look at. While the fact that they are quality flowers the way they are cut down so much makes them look cute. I like tall vases opposed to square boxy ones. read more

The flowers for my wedding were designed by this place & they did a spectacular job! The centerpieces were large branches of cherry blossoms & were impressive to all my guests due to the amount of blossoms on them & the sheer height of them. The other flowers were the colors that I asked to match my theme of Spring & the flowers used were fresh & opened up perfectly. They even provided enough extra flowers so that the entryway to my place was decorated as well as the trays of food that were passed out during the cocktail hour. A friend broke his hip, bicycling Wednesday and I called them at 3:30pm (I was 3 hours earlier on the W coast) asking if they could put together & deliver a custom bouquet to the upper east side that day, FULLY expecting them to say either "What are you smoking?" OR "Sure, for an extra hundred!" They did neither and could NOT have been more kind or helpful and 3 hours later, my friend texted me a pic of a spectacular arrangement, VERY touched.. I have had nothing but horrible experiences with this florist. I work in an office building just upstairs from them so obviously it's convenient to pop in there if I need something. Every single time I go in there the people are super rude. I spent $50 on a succulent that died in 2 days. Today was definitely the straw that broke the camels back - I stopped in to get an employee of mine a congratulatory bouquet. When I walked in there were 3 people working. The lady approached and said hi how can I help you. I said I'm looking for a small bouquet. This other woman sucks her teeth and nastily says well it's a $45 minimum... I said ok and she starts huffing and puffing about it. Ok lady I get it. You don't care about my $45...but how about my entire office and our corporate account? I came here once as I was in a jam and it was near my office. I walked in and asked if they had any flowers I could quickly buy as I was going to a dinner and there are no Deli's around to buy flowers. They laughed at me and asked what my budget was rudely as if I couldn't afford anything in there. I walked out of there irritated and without flowers as they chose to make fun and judge rather than assist. All they had to say was that they only do arrangements. Columbia made my first floral ordering experience in NY a success! 9:15AM called in to see if they had lavender in stock for an arrangement I was thinking about. The owner was pleasant to talk to and I started immediately telling him about the arrangement I wanted to order and if they could deliver it same day. He said it was possible but I should talk to the florist so she can start describing what type of flowers she could incorporate. They didn't have any lavender in stock and the owner offered he would cut some from him very own garden to put it in the arrangement. That was seriously so nice of him! The florist wasn't available at first ( they were prepping for a wedding) but in about 20 mins the owner DJ had her call me back. Diana was wonderful to talk to. I told her I wanted something, clean, light, and nothing overwhelming for a good friend who just had a baby. I wanted to have lavender accents so that it would not only look welcoming but smell calming and relaxing for the new parents! They nailed it and sent me a picture of the arrangement. The flowers looked very fresh and worth the cost! Most importantly it didn't look tacky and they delivered it quickly! Arrived in about 2 1/2 hrs from when I called in. $10 for delivery but that was reasonable fee compared to all the places I was looking at. read more

Unprofessional customer service. Arrogant manager. I called Columbia Midtown Florist in order to setup weekly floral deliveries. I wanted to set up an account with my American Express Card. A person answered and didn't identify themselves. I requested as I always do to speak with the arranger or manager. The first thing the person on the phone said was, is this a solicitor? I answered no and asked them who they were. The woman said her name was Dominique. I then asked for the manager and she said "I'm the manager." I explained how dissatisfy I was and that I would like to speak to the owner. She wouldn't identify the owner. Dominique kept insinuating that the call quality was poor and asked if I was on a speaker phone. The first principle of customer service is that the customer is always right. Second, when answering a business phone, always identify yourself e.g., hello, thank you for calling Columbia Midtown Florist. This is Dominique, how can I help you?" This florist may designed beautiful arrangements, however, the manager need to find another job that doesn't involve customer service. She is doing a disservice to the owner. I do have an unedited recording of the entire conversation and I'm posting it to YouTube so that the facts are clear. I would not recommend this flower shop to anyone. read more

Turns out the bouquet I ordered could not be completed, as they did not have sunflowers. For some reason they texted the recipient instead of calling me about this issue -- even though I had put down my number / contact information as the sender. Not only did they ruin the surprise for my friend, but the bouquet itself wasn't as nice as what I paid for. I will never again order from this place. read more

I was incredibly disappointed with the size of the arrangement. I was expecting something a lot bigger for that money. The website offers you sizes and displays the medium on their site. While researching florists convenient to my office for a beloved colleague's memorial service, I came across Columbia Midtown Florist and am glad I decided to use them for this occasion. The process of placing my order and settling on arrangements was smooth, and everyone I spoke with was helpful. There was one minor hangup on the day of when I called to triple-check. I'm glad I did as the lady who helped me said "OK, yes we have the flowers here. Orange and green..." I had to jump in and say no, this is for a memorial service, the last person I spoke with recommended a particular arrangement in white and pale gree from the Sympathy collection. She immediately said ok yes, I understand, no problem, and the flowers arrived, as agreed - gorgeous, right on time, via the requested elevator bank. They took so much care and time to put together this wonderful piece that is now the focal point of the room. They are very professional and flexible.
