I took my Honda in for repair due to a slight jerking when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. The mechanic claimed there was a transmission fluid leak (even though I hadn't noticed any fluid under the car when parked) and advised me to change the struts and leak and 4 new tires. He quoted $3,900, including labor. After this work was done, the car still had the same issue. I returned to the mechanic multiple times, and each time he assured me that driving the car for a few miles would resolve it. I drove it for two months with no improvement. He also never followed up with me to see if the issue was fixed, as he had mentioned he would. Finally, I took it to a different shop and had a transmission fluid flush done for $150. The issue was resolved immediately, and now the car drives smoothly. I'm extremely disappointed with this mechanic and wouldn't recommend anyone go to him for repairs. read more

I went to this shop after finding them through getting a deal for an oil change from another company. There was some other work that I was also hoping to have done as well. Not only were they very friendly and accommodating, but they sought my best interest in telling me how I could get the work done with quality materials for the most affordable price. They are very affordable for what they do and they just make you feel good about the quality of their service. My car has been in good shape since I took it to them. I went to this mechanic to get my key lock cylinder fixed. They told me to replace my shifter cable, so I replaced it and it still was broken and didn't even give me a discount for being wrong. Then they proceeded to tell me it was a transmission solenoid issue and fixed it. But it still didn't fix my key lock cylinder issue and also charged me for that. Second time, the car brakes were screeching anytime I brakes regardless of how fast or slow I was going. Ended up having to pay $1040 to get the car fixed elsewhere. Save your money. This was the best experience for an oil change I've ever had. Most places will usually take advantage of a gal like me, but the owner Gary was beyond helpful and hooked me up with a ridiculously cheap price for an oil change and tire rotation. Definitely the cheapest price I've ever paid. He also noticed my tires were balding and that I desperately needed new ones soon, so he quoted me for a new tire service and also quoted me for some work needed on my fiancé's truck. The nicest people ever! I had a horrible experience at Garden Grove Kia. They told me I had to rats in my AC blow motor. Kia put the mice back in the car and closed it up. I picked up my car the following day, after a hot day. And sure enough my car smells atrocious! I took it to A1 and they could not believe that they would PUT THE MICE back in there...A1 took my car apart (such a hassle) and simply removed the mice. The rumbling in my car stopped, nothing needed to be replaced, it just needed the mice to be removed. They took such good care of me and went out of their way to get air freshener to help eliminate the horrible odor that was left. They were so friendly and even warned me to look away before the rats were exposed. After cleaning the motor and changing my cabin filter, they allowed me to just wait for a while for the smell to die down. Great service and will return! read more

****DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER.**** Auto mechanics will almost always have the advantage in charging you more than the actual cost of parts and repairs. At A1 Automotive, profit is not in their agenda. Just to put it out there: Ali and Greg are GREAT mechanics and GREAT people. Now it's words that can only explain the idea that someone is trying to convey, but the concept and actual feeling is something that must be experienced. In a nutshell, about a month from today, I took my crappy rebuilt B18B1 '99 Integra in for an ENGINE REBUILD (Car was bought off CL). After a 500 mile break-in, I brought it back today for its oil change to get rid of the ceramic linings of the new parts. Since the rebuild my car has ran INCREDIBLY SMOOTHER than before. My car constantly had interior vibrations to the point where it was difficult to talk to whoever was in the passenger seat. Now I can easily have a conversation. Overall, the rebuild was SUCCESSFUL and I look forward to another 200k miles! ***Now it's important to emphasize that you NEED TO KNOW the gist of the PARTS that will be NECESSARY for the job. Basically, you'll need to have some knowledge of how much some parts are going to be so that you won't feel like you're being scammed. When Ali talks to you about the parts that should be replaced and what jobs that should be done, it isn't to upsell- it's because it is what it is!*** Again, Ali and Greg are great mechanics and they know what they're doing. They are again, great people and will give you the HONEST and most REASONABLE price. Being a college student with little to spend, I spoke to Ali and negotiated a price for the basic rebuild. This car is my daily driver and it's been SEVERELY BURNING OIL and it's had very POOR PERFORMANCE. Ali was straightforward in the description as I had noted the parts that I knew were needed. With rarely any engine rebuild shops nearby that I know of, A1 Auto showed most confident in the work they've done. In addition to the rebuild, I had gotten other jobs done: 1) Full Engine Rebuild (Everything was new and replaced AND torqued/measured to factory specs) 2) New Engine Mounts 3) Exedy Clutch Kit and New Flywheel 4) NGK Spark plugs 5) Used Short-block w/ Distributor Cap and Rotor 6) OE Sparkplug Wires Within a week during the rebuild, there was a major issue. Ali had called me to inform me of a previous rebuilt that was incredibly unsuccessful- explaining my poor performance and oil burning. The short-block was basically destroyed because the cylinders were over-honed and the engine was barely being held up by the driver-side engine mount. The line for the thermostat was JB Welded and many more. Overall, this short-block was toast. The whole journey of my daily going through this full engine rebuild has proven to me both Ali and Greg's workmanship and respect for others. Their workmanship is insanely precise and they treat their customers with the utmost respect. Ali was willing to work everything out with me and remained consistent in his reasonable price for everything. He even buffed my headlights for me while I was getting my oil changed. Both him and Greg are incredibly nice guys and are always willing to work with you. Can't emphasize that enough. Took my Mitsubishi Eclipse in for a simple oil change then asked the assistant Greg about what else I should replace since I was approaching the 90,000 miles. Greg looked all around and showed me what would need work, and which ones were more important if I was to not do all the work at once. I ended up coming back at the end of the week and replacing the timing belt, water pump all the seals, the spark plugs, as well as the valve cover gasket and the four struts. I was on a budget so I asked the owner, Ali, the best price he could give me, and it worked out perfectly. When the job was done Ali showed me the parts he replaced and how they were a problem. I had an excellent experience with A1 automotive. Mundo helped me out, he's a straight shooter and fair guy, which is hard to find in the automotive industry. I had all 4 brakes replaced and 4 tires put on as well. Not only was it for a great price compared to other quotes I got but great service. It did take long, but honestly I would rather it be done right than wrong and rushed. Mundo gave me the WiFi address so I was able to work on school while I waited so no big deal there.
