They are very helpful but don't tell you about the hidden charges. Took my car in to see what the issues was and charged me $263 just for a brake inspection and quoted me at $1300 for front brake pads/rotators and to flush my power steering fluid. Just purchased whole new brake pads/rotators and hoses plus fluids for $430. I'll just do myself. Also they said they would call me back they never did I had to call them. lucky I did because it sounded like they were just going to fix it without telling me the price. Wouldn't recommend this place unless you have money to spend. read more

Engine started running rough. I called and told them I scanned my vehicle and my scanner said I had a miss-fire on cylinder #6. They tried telling me I needed a timing chain which is approximately a $1200 average expense for my vehicle. I said no and I fixed it myself in an hour with a spark plug and coil pack for $55. I've left a Google Review from a previous visit about a month ago and wish I could leave them another one on there. A1 is great! I've always had a fantastic experience with them - they are transparent, honest and are really detailed with their explanations. On my most recent visit they did an oil change, fixed my TPMS and the reason my check engine light was on AND did a transmission cleanout. I worked with Emma over the phone to schedule my appointment and when I dropped my car off, Curt answered my questions when I called for an update, and Troy called me when the diagnostics were completed and walked me through their recommendation, and he was there when I picked my car up. We had A1 Automotive change oil on our SUV. After a couple days I checked oil level on dip stick and showed 1/4" over the "excessive" mark on dipstick. I drained all the oil out and refilled with the correct amount per specs and dip stick registered fine. So, they tech definitely put too much oil in our car which can cause damage to an engine. I called the store manager and brought to their attention. I am giving them a 1 star as I paid for something that was not done right. Would not recommend as if can't do a simple oil change right not sure I would trust doing any major work. read more

This was by far the best experience I have had at any auto shop! Can't beat the price, and they got it done way faster than anticipated. I appreciate Kendall's help during this whole process. Firestone told me my axle was bad, but it was really my wheel bearing. Quoted me an extra $800 for a timing belt replacement along with the full cost of the oil pump replacement I needed... they can both be done at the same time, (you literally have to take off the timing belt to get to the oil pump) and the parts all together cost like $150. doing the timing belt would not add that much in labor. Quote was extremely high to begin with. Also suggested of bunch of stuff that wasn't necessary. They act like they're transparent by showing you a picture of something and pointing out something you probably wont understand unless you know enough. I would give them 2 stars because they were fast and I liked the online estimate system, but that's probably why they need to charge to much. read more

Initially I had some good service with these guys. I now will be looking for another mechanic. My F150 started running rough and my "service engine soon" light started flashing. I looked it up in the owners manual and it said a "flashing" "service engine soon" light meant the engine was "miss-firing." I scanned it with my personal OBD code reader and got code P0306 "miss-fire cylinder 6." I called A1 to schedule a repair. After I told him my "service engine soon" light was flashing he immediately said that is usually a timing chain problem. I told him I had scanned it and it said miss-fire cylinder 6. He said a timing chain will cause that also. The average cost for timing chain replacement for this vehicle is $1600. I decided to fix it myself, and I didn't have time to diagnose each part so I decided to replace all three... the spark plug, boot, & the coil (under $50) on cylinder 6. I then reset the "service engine soon" light. No additional problems and runs like new. Time for a new mechanic. They are knowledgeable if they want to be but I no longer trust them after this. read more

Great service and friendly staff. Our van's alternator went out and even though they were booked they managed to squeeze us in for a diagnosis that same day. The van was ready early the next morning. The location is very convenient for those of us who work downtown. They came highly recommended by friends who are regular customers. Used to go to Firestone until they messed up big time on our van, so it was nice to find a place that is more reliable and also located close to where we work! read more

I had one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a mechanic at this shop, and I've been coming here for years. Took it in Friday for an oil change and diagnostic work. They found out I needed about $900 worth of repairs - I agreed to them and he told me he would have to order the parts and asked if I could bring it in Monday - no problem on my end. I got back in my car and realized he hadn't reset my oil gauge or filled my tires with air - no big deal - he can do it Monday I thought. As I dropped the car off Monday morning I asked the receptionist to make a note about my tires and oil gauge - she did. When I went back to pick up my car I noticed they had only done half of the work they quoted me for. The mechanic blamed me saying he didn't know I wanted all of it done and that it would have taken multiple days to fix. He and I had had a conversation on Friday about payment plans for the $900 dollar bill and if he could get it done in one day, which he said he could. He was lying to my face. Once he realized that excuse wasn't going to work he blamed his receptionist for not being there on Friday, not his incompetence. By this point I had had it. I paid my bill and got back in my car - pissed I was going to need to look for a new mechanic to do the rest of the repairs and be out of a car for another day. He hadn't reset my oil gauge. If you want to go to an incompetent mechanic who blames the customer for their mistakes this is the place for you - I've never had a more disappointing experience. read more

Had my college student take his car in for air conditioning recharge and check paid $140 to put Freon in. Day later no air, so we took it back for another $200 plus in repairs. Next day same thing " no air ". Take it back again they tell me this time it will be $1300 and the Tech that worked on it in the beginning is no longer there , the one that should have diagnosed the real problem before I spent the $400 ish.
