Without going into great detail, he wouldn't even consider that the problem could be handled by 6 to 6 without having to take it to a dealership. I expected him to offer to have me bring it in so they could at least look at it, but he seemed unwilling to have 6 to 6 even attempt to resolve the issue. I'm so disappointed in the lack of customer service from a shop I'd been relying on for years. I've found a new repair shop, but I'm really sorry to have to end my customer relationship with 6 to 6 Auto Service. Perhaps they can afford to lose customers over the poor customer service provided by one employee who apparently doesn't understand how to accommodate a client.

They carefully explained which parts I needed to replace when they easily could've convinced me to replace the whole brake set on both rear wheels. I was pleased with the speed, efficiency and honesty, so I had them do some additional work on the front end and changing the automatic transmission fluid. I was very pleased with the work and thought the price was reasonable. I'm writing this review now because they also recently helped me over the phone. I was having trouble with the left rear brake caliper and couldn't remember if they had changed the rotors on both sides when they worked on it previously. I called and they had the records to tell me exactly what they had done at the time. I mentioned that I was considering doing the work myself, and they were very understanding, agreeing that the price of labor for such work was considerable no matter where I would have the work done, and that they could certainly understand the rationale for trying to do the work myself. I also recently spoke to a neighbor who has gone to them for years, and had nothing but good things to say. I would highly recommend this business.

We were traveling from our home 45 minutes west to Springfield/Branson Missouri area. We stopped in Lincoln for food and noticed a weird sound from the car. We called my brother-in-law who is knowledgeable about cars, told him what was going on and sent him a video. He said "Oof! Get it to a shop!" He said the harmonic balancer needed replaced. I asked him if he had any recommendations on the area but he didn't. We looked up mechanics on the area online and Urgent Care Auto came up and the name was very fitting. We were very close so we headed over. Darrin saw my video and also said it was the harmonic balancer. He was willing to fix it right then given our situation of needing to be in Missouri by 10am the next morning (it was around lunchtime) BUT he could only get the part the next day do to part availability (because of COVID). He did tell us we were looking at about $350 to fix but it might be a little cheaper at our home mechanic. We couldn't even find a rental and didn't have a way for family to bring us our other car so we had no choice but to go back home. He was a little nervous about that but he said some people drive around with this problem and never have an issue (although they shouldn't). He said keep the RPMs down so we took it easy on the way back. We got home and dropped it off to our local mechanic, who also said the same things, and they had it fixed while we were gone. Total fix cost: $350.

I knew it wasn't going to be a quick fix, but was still very disappointed in how long it took. At first, I was happy that David, the owner, was going to try to get a fuel tank second hand so it wouldn't have been as expensive. He told me he would have it finished within a week- great! However, a week went up and then another week was added and so on and so forth for about 4 weeks. Turns out the fuel tanks they ordered were delivered wrong and they had to order them again and wait for delivery; understandable but eventually my patience was wearing thin and could tell they were grasping for straws and feeding me bullshit. All the while, they kept finding "new" problems with my vehicle. They said they needed to fabricate a new heatshield, fix the muffler + exhaust, and then they started working on fixing a engine light that needed about $600 worth of work; however, everything they tried didn't work so the engine light is STILL on. Once everything was installed and looking good, suddenly they found a cable that was melted that absolutely NEEDED to be fixed- they wouldn't take no for an answer. That added another week. The people working the front desk were the most incompetent people I've ever met. I would call and ask for an update and they would say "let me get David" just for David to tell me nothing is updated after 15 minutes on hold. One time, I went in to grab something from my vehicle; I asked the front desk person for my keys to get something and they said "let me ask David." I waited around for half and hour for him to pick up the keys (sitting right in front of the front desk person) and hand them to me. The communication was awful. I would call and then they wouldn't call me back. David would call me probably once or twice a week to explain the same thing he explained 20 times to me already. He was definitely over diagnosing my vehicle, which is a common factor in several reviews for this company. I would ask how much it was going to cost, and he would say let me check and then didn't end up giving me a straight answer until a week before the vehicle was finished. He told me it would be done by the afternoon, and then I came to pick it in the evening and then he said it will definitely be done the next morning, but then didn't call to confirm until the next evening. Finally (two months from when I dropped it off) it came time to pay, the bill was $2900. I asked if they did payment plans and David said no we don't really do payment plans, you HAVE to pay up front OR as they were fixing it (that would have been pretty hard because he never told me a confirmed cost). I asked if there was a fee for credit cards and he said no but if you pay up front I'll knock the bill down to $2800. Luckily I had the money, if I didn't my vehicle would probably be one of MANY sitting in their lot. Overall, it felt like my vehicle was being held hostage and I was pressured into agreeing for upgrades my vehicle didn't need. Looking at the reviews, it seems pretty hit or miss. If you have a tire you need replaced, that's an easy fix; but anything else, they're pretty incompetent.

The second time, I showed up, and they told me they didn't have a technician available to do the oil change. The third time, they couldn't remove the oil drain plug because it was stripped. I informed them that the last oil change was done at the same location by them. They told me they had to order a new drain plug. The fourth time, they did the oil change and didn't charge me for it. The next day, we noticed a leak under the car, so we had to take it back for the fifth time. After inspecting it, they said they hadn't fully tightened the oil drain plug, which caused the leak. They said it should be fine now. Later that day, we noticed more leakage under the car and thought it was still leaking. I called the branch, and the employee, Scott, first told me it wasn't their fault and that it shouldn't leak because it hadn't been leaking before. That statement made me very upset because the car was leaking, and they had confirmed it that same day. I requested immediate assistance and told them I would bring the car in the next day for another inspection. The next day, when I went there, the store manager asked me to walk over to the shop to see the car. It appeared that they had cleaned the drain plug area and the surrounding area. The store manager, speaking in an aggressive tone, told me there wasn't any leakage. I showed him a picture I had taken that morning in my garage, which clearly showed the leak. He replied, "I DON'T CARE, THERE ISN'T ANY LEAK HERE, I AM SICK OF THIS CAR." The way he spoke to me was accusatory, disrespectful, aggressive, and unprofessional, which is absolutely unacceptable. I would have been fine if he had said, "We inspected it and couldn't find any leak, but keep an eye on it. Hopefully, or I'm sure, you won't see any more leaks." It's very disappointing that they don't train their staff on how to talk to customers.

I called and got a wonderful reception and offer to get a diagnosis and if the repairs are done in shop, the diagnostic fee is included in repairs. They were very friendly very communicative, seemed very honest and interested in making sure that you had a great experience. I was able to hang out in the shop office while they looked at my car and tried to figure out what was going on. It was a very nice experience, a lot different than a lot of other mechanics that I've visited in my lifetime. I would definitely recommend you visit their shop or at least give them a call and see what they might be able to help you with. Very happy and will come back again soon.

Charged for $180 for something I already told them was broken…read more I came in for an oil change and I told them straight up my windshield washer pump was out and needed replaced. I already knew it was out. I wasn't asking them to "diagnose" it like it was some mystery problem. They charged me $57 for the oil change, then turned around and charged me $180 as a "standard service fee" just to tell me the pump was out and needs replaced... which is exactly what I told them when I walked in. When I brought it up to Kevin (service advisor) and asked what that $180 even covered, he said they might check wires and connections but when I asked what they actually did on MY vehicle, he had no idea. How are you a service advisor and you can't explain what was done, but you're still forcing a $180 charge? Kevin was also rude as heck about it. This is exactly why auto shops have the reputation they do because places like this will charge you almost $200 for nothing and act like you're the problem for questioning it.
