To reiterate, I had never even heard of Charlie's towing until I googled the number, nor do I have a need for a towing service. Upon me informing the gentlemen that I had not called him, he insisted that I had dialed his number, was irritated that I did not need a tow, and hung up. Car got stuck 30 miles away from home. Called our towing provider - AARP for help. They told us there was a two hour wait - after two hours they said there was another 2 hour wait. Called Charlie's towing and he came in 45 minutes from 30 miles away. He was professional, courteous, and sympathetic. Would recommend him to everyone. He is great. read more

Got a flat sent a tow truck in 10 minutes good right hold on? $225 to go 5 miles to Mavis Tire Store what a rip off I said that's to much driver said you should have ask how much before I came I said yes correct but I don't have it . Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value I had issues getting my account information for AAA after my car battery died at the veterinary office. I called a dispatch service while my phone was at 3% charge and they sent a truck from A1 Charlie's. My phone had died at this point or was charging so slowly it didn't register so I was just happy to see the truck had found me. 1st warning: the driver did not wear a mask at any point of the "service" 2nd warning: the equipment had exposed wires. I ignored the warning and let the driver look at my car. After a few attempts, the driver took the charger to his truck and sat there for about ten minutes. The second attempt to jump my car failed and the driver said that it was a dead battery. My phone had finally charged a bit and I was able to contact aaa again and found my account number. The tow driver then informed me that for driving out and not performing the service I needed, I would be charged $150 plus tax, adding up to $169. After some arguing, I finally relented and gave them my payment information (solely to get the driver to leave me alone). After a bit of waiting, AAA truck came and SUCCESSFULLY JUMPED MY CAR. In less than 10 minutes. I then called A1 Charlie's to I tell them that my car battery was the issue and it had been jumped and I requested a refund of the $169. The man I spoke to refused and I told him I would dispute the charges. He then threatened me and said he knew where I lived. Moral of the story: AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE COVID-19. I will be continuing in my attempt to reclaim my money. Had my car towed from Westbury LIRR parking lot to repair shop at 1am. Hookup and transfer within 5 miles all done in 30 mins and with no issues or miscommunications. They were courteous and on time. My car wouldn't start, and I needed to get it to the repair shop about four miles away. I'd never needed a tow before, and turned to yelp for advice. Called A1 based on the stellar reviews, and they were right! My call was answered on the first ring, and the driver contacted me within two minutes. Vito was amazing--he promised to arrive within 20 minutes, and was at my door with a smile in a quarter hour. He loaded my car onto the flatbed and got her safely to the repair shop in record time.
