When I woke up this morning to half my house without electricity and no eat, I panicked. Although he couldn't send someone out right away, he stayed in good contact with me throughout the morning and I was able to text him photos of the situation. He was right about the Con-Ed problem and it was resolved early this afternoon. So glad we were able to reach him and establish a relationship. If you need a plumber, this is not the company for you. Peter has some plumbing tools and may know some plumbing jargon, but a plumber he is NOT. Sadly, he won't tell you this and will waste your money and time by taking on a job he doesn't have the skill set to complete. I hired Peter to fix a leaking faucet and reattach/replace a tub spout/shower diverter. Peter did fix the leak, but the rest of the job involved extending a pipe to fit a new generic spout/diverter. No caulk. No glue. However Peter's $400 solution was to apply (and reapply) layers of caulk and glue to the existing pipe. Needless to say, after a week of repeated glue applications, I still wasn't able to use the shower (my original most pressing concern.) For the $400 spent all that I had to show for it was a leak repaired with some plumbing tape and remnants of caulk/glue now permanently stuck to my tub enamel. Save yourself the GRIEF and TRUST this review. read more

Woke up this morning to a big mess - water leaking from under the sink all over the floor. I found Peter here through Yelp. He asked for a photo of the problem, I texted it to him and he arrived at our place in Prospect Heights within the hour. He quickly assessed the problem and found the part to fix at a local store - saving time and not making a Home Depot run. He was fast, worked neatly and showed time the problem. Tonight he even followed up to make sure the sink was working okay. I have dreaded home repairs. In Brooklyn finding good service people is usually a nightmare. While initially impressive, Peter's work has since come apart multiple times. He also vanished for days as soon as I made one large payment, before he completed urgent work to address flooding. I've given him multiple chances to do the work properly, but it just keeps coming apart. I'm now having to pay another contractor to redo part of the work. read more

Peter is a skilled craftsman who takes pride in his work. I had 2 other guys mess up an installation of my back exterior door and he came and fixed the problem in a day. It was a bit involved because the frame was ripped out and concrete rock wasn't even. He's given me some good tips for other minors issues in the house as well. Peter and Derrick were awesome. I had leaks in my house due to pipes bursting from being frozen. They went above and beyond to find where all the underlying problems were and not only stop the leaks but had my boiler running great. I needed a fast response to a problem with my dishwasher which had "died." Before meeting Peter, a man of many talents from A1, I'd been told by another dishwasher repairman that there was nothing wrong with the appliance - the problem was electric (the wires leading down to our basement not giving any power to the appliance). I sought highly-rated electricians with quick response times. I called 4 - ONLY A1 (Peter) called me back, and he arrived in short order. He determined quickly that this was not an electrical problem. He turned to the dishwasher. Two connecting wires in the door opener had melted. He did a work-around, and my dishwasher sprung to life. Peter is an excellent worker. Reliable, caring, and you won't have to repeat yourself because he listens and sees things that you may not have paid attention to. He also responds in a very timely manner, I sent pictures via text and he wrote back right away. I called Peter to fix my back door due to wind-blown water against a storm door leaking in. Peter came saw the issue and went to Home Depot to buy all I needed and brought back the receipt.
